Zoup! is one of my colleagues' favorite lunch spots, so I think I'll be coming here pretty often. I definitely understand why, they have a fun selection of sandwiches, salads, and soups. The soup selection (unsurprisingly enough) is definitely the most interesting, and they have six soups that rotate daily, which I love, since I hate getting the same old unless it's the ultimate comfort food. They also let you sample soups, which I don't think I've ever experienced, but I'm such a fan. I've sampled the tomato bisque so far, which is solid, and actually had orders of the lobster bisque and the New England clam chowder. The soups come with an order of bread - French or multigrain - and all the soups I've had are good. I probably won't dream of these soups (or any of their other foods) but that's okay. I've also had their chicken toscana sandwich, which was good. Seems like all their food has a good threshold of quality, and the value is pretty fair. I've also tried the cranberry almond sonoma salad - a half salad is a healthy portion, and I like their ability to mix and match soups, salads, and sandwiches for a nice variety. Zoup! knows its model and is doing it well. I also like that they have the nutritional value of all their foods online, and in person, which is helpful for anyone who wants to be more health-conscious. read more

I love Zoup! It's always an experience to go. Zoup has over 10 different varieties of soup. When you enter the restaurant you're greeted, "welcome to Zoup". I love that they let you sample the soups, if you want to try all of them. One of my favorite soups is the Sicilian pizza. It has pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers,onions, olives, and cheese and it taste just like pizza it's so good. I love that Zoup has many different options. Dependable spot for a filling, inexpensive, and relatively healthy lunch in downtown Lansing. The lines get really long and do not move quickly during the lunch rush, so order online if you can. The staff are always pleasant and let you sample as many soups as you'd like to. (This is probably why the lines move so slowly!) They have a rotation of a dozen or so soups - with spicy, vegan, dairy free, gluten free, and low fat options. My only gripe is that, as with a lot of premade soups, they can have a very high sodium content (an Asian style one I tried had more than half the daily recommended quantity of sodium). The soups come in 3 sizes - a side, a cup, and a bowl. There's also a larger option and one that's served in a bread bowl. They also have protein bowls, salads, and sandwiches, but the salads and protein bowls are around 600 calories, and have cheese and fattier dressings, so I steer clear of those. You also get a piece of bread with your order - I really like their 5 grain bread! Their chicken noodle soup and chicken and vegetable soup are a staple in my lunch rotation. They also have a loyalty punch card and you get two entries if you come in after 3 PM. That's a pretty sweet deal IMO! read more

I eat here for lunch fairly frequently. It's one of the few places to eat downtown that is not a sub shop! I love that they have veggie/vegan, dairy free, gluten free, etc options to accommodate a variety of diets. It's my go-to spot when I want something quick and kinda healthy. I also love that you can customize your order to substitute things or add/remove things. The staff at this location are very friendly and work really hard to get your food quickly even during the busiest weekday lunch rush. I really wish they would bring back the Greek salad though!! Called to ask why the soup I really like hasn't been served in over 4 weeks and was told it "isn't in our rotation". What does that even mean? How does that explain anything? You change soups daily - they should rotate once a week at least and your customer service should offer something more than laughing when you call to inquire about something. Maybe offering to include the soup sometime soon, as they do at any other customer service based restaurant. Poor customer service = poor management. read more

This Zoup has seriously surprised me. I've been to quite a few, and they're all pretty average, but this one was extraordinary. It was clean, nicely furnished, and has a great location just a few blocks away from Lansing Center. Unlike typical Zoups, none of the soups that I sampled were obscenely hot or tasted burnt. They heated up the bread for me (without me asking) as well, which was a pleasant surprise. What sold me on this Zoup though, was not the delicious soup, the friendly staff, or the cleanliness of the entire building. No. It was the fact that they had XXX Vitamin Water i their pop machines. I have never been more excited for a beverage in my life. So great! I've always liked Zoup, but this one takes a good thing and makes it great. It's a shame that I don't live in the area. The interior feels a lot like a Panera without the coffee - solid, warm tones on the walls, a standard queue for ordering and a small number of interior seating options. What sets it apart is the soup. Twelve rotating varieties of delicious, belly-filling, healthy (or unhealthy) varieties including dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options. They serve it wit fresh baked bread, sandwiches and salads. And you can sample as many soups as you want while in line before making a choice. I sampled the butternut squash, lemon lentil and split green pea soups. Each was good, but i settled on the lentil accompanied by a roll of sourdough and a Californian Veggie Wrap. It was all delicious, filled me up and only set me back about $8.5. Even though the place was packed, the service was quick and efficient. And most importantly, friendly. This is an update. I tried the Thai chicken soup, it is SO GOOD!! Oh my God. The lobster bisque is also totally out of this world. I tried the online ordering and it was very easy and I paid online, too. They said pick it up at noon. I got there 5 minutes early, and it was ready. Just pick it up and go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I ordered Zoup! Catering last week for employee appreciation day to surprise my team and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am always looking for something 'outside of the box' for special occasions since we order pizza frequently, and landed on Zoup! After our amazing team secretary discovered they cater online! Everything about the order was excellent. The soup was fresh and hot. The bread was individually packaged. The cups, spoons, and napkins were neatly packed in the catering box. First time here and it was a great experience. The staff asked if we had been here before and when we said no they were happy to walk us through the menu. They also told us we could sample any soups to help us decide. All the staff was friendly and helpful! I ordered a half Maple Ham and Bacon sandwich and a 12oz cup of Chicken Pot Pie soup. The sandwich was sweet and savory and the bread was a good combo of soft and crunch from being toasted. The soup tasted exactly like a good chicken pot pie. My boyfriend got the Lobster Bisque soup and the Southwest Turkey sandwich. The bisque was very lobstery and the southwest sandwhich had a little heat (not too much), both were tasty. My only complaint is the prices are kinda high. I mean you get a lot of food and it is decent quality, but $26 for 2 people at a relatively fast food place is kinda high... Placed an order online for 3 bowls of soup and a try 2. Said I had a reward for BOGO bowls of soup but it never took off the total. When I FINALLY got my delivery, I was missing a bowl of soup. I called the store and the girl who initially answered huffed at me and told me "well you'll have to wait on hold" when I called to tell them THEY forgot an item. When I spoke with whomever I assume was the manager at the time, I was told they could either refund me or I could place ANOTHER order for delivery and wait ANOTHER 30 minutes for delivery, if I didn't want to come in and pick it up. I'm so frustrated that I moved from GR with a great zoup, causing me to love this place, to here. I've gone to this one 5 times. 3 times, they've messed up my order. The first time, the manager contacted me & gave a gift card to make up for it. The next time they got my order right. The next time, wrong again, but I just picked the veggies off. Last time, wrong again. So I called them, which they sent me gift cards again. So today we went to use the gift cards (2 for $5 each). The total was $12something. We gave him the two gift cards & a $10 to cover the $2something. Instead, he takes the whole $10, & hands us back a gift card & another for $2something. At least the orders right this time. So frustrating to go there though. You never know when they're going to get your order right. It's kinda like Russian roulette. Edit: I will say that the manager is very involved at this location. I've been working in the Lansing area for a little more than a month now, and my most frequented spot for lunch has been Zoup! so far. I've been aware of the restaurant chain for a while, but I never gave it a chance until now. Honestly, it's a Panera that went soup-crazy, and the soups are delicious! I've had the Potato Kale, the Sausage Gumbo, and the Fire Roasted Tomato Bisque, and I've been happy with all of them. I'm not really a seafood person but everyone raves about the Lobster Bisque. I've only tried the Chicken Greek sandwich thus far, and it was tasty - maybe a little feta heavy but I'm a feta fan so I'm not complaining. The line is probably the longest between 12 and 12:30 but it moves quickly. There's also that extra little bonus of the soup samples they offer, which helps keep the "ummms" out of the order come placement time. read more

I placed an order online and walked a short few blocks from the Radisson hotel at which I was staying. My order was ready when I arrived and the clerk that waited on me, Mark I think was his name, was very friendly. I ordered a cup of the Lobster Bisque soup, Sonoma Salad and a turkey club wrap. Upon recommendation from Internet reviews my friend and I stopped here. To summarize, it more than lived up to the expectation! We got the lobster bisque as this seems popular and it was excellent. The bread was fresh and delicious. This is the kind of food experience that I look forward to. The service was friendly and despite a long line we got through quickly. I have been to this place many times in Lansing and in a few other towns. I adore it! The customer service is outstanding, they always seem so happy to give us as many samples of soups as we want to try. It is also great that they let you try their soups as many times as you want. The soup comes with bread and it's phenomenal as well. The tomato basil soup is the best I've ever had. The chicken & dumpling soup is amazing as well. The only bad thing I have to say about this restaurant is that it is usually very hard to choose which soup I want because they are all so good! Definitely a great place downtown Lansing.
