I was finally able to relax during the end (where she was only doing my arms and back).... It was $77.50 (including tax) which I paid at the beginning of the service. I was kinda skeptical because I've never paid upfront for a massage before but whatever... anyways, at the end, another women comes to bring me to the front room. She asks if I wanna leave a tip and I said... sure. I wrote $3 because I was genuinely in pain most of the service. She literally looked at me and goes "it's $10 MINIMUM for a hour" .. excuse me? When is a tip EVER mandatory? & after I write the $3, she grabbed the receipt for me and wouldn't even let me finish writing my total. I asked for it back because I didn't feel comfortable with how she treated me at that moment. I will not be returning. The entitlement is absolutely insane and unprofessional. Plus, the whole place reeks of FEET. I should've left after I noticed but always try to give a chance. Never again.

The space was welcoming, relaxing, and somewhere I initially planned on returning to, which is why I had already scheduled another appointment. That being said, these services aren't cheap, and I booked this massage for a very specific reason. I'm at the end of a long training block and preparing to run a 100-mile race. My goal was to loosen everything up, get some deeper tissue work done, and give my body the best chance possible to feel refreshed heading into the start line. Unfortunately, the massage felt much more like a relaxation massage than the deeper sports/deep-tissue work I was expecting. Afterward, I didn't notice any difference in the specific areas I had hoped to have targeted. I completely understand that techniques vary between therapists, and sometimes a service simply isn't the right fit. That alone would not have prompted me to leave a negative review. What has been most disappointing is what happened afterward. I reached out to Resolve Body Works multiple times to explain my experience and give them an opportunity to address it. I sent a text, an email, and a message through Instagram, and I also attempted to call the business. It has now been about a week, and I have received no response at all. I wasn't looking to attack anyone or blame my therapist. I simply wanted to communicate that I had paid a significant amount for a specific service and walked away feeling like I hadn't received the type of treatment I booked. I would have appreciated even a simple acknowledgment or conversation about it. Because I never heard back, I ultimately canceled my next appointment. That's genuinely a shame because the atmosphere was fantastic, I really liked my therapist, and I would have been open to returning and trying something different had someone simply communicated with me. Ultimately, the massage itself may have just been a mismatch between what I needed and the technique provided. I can understand that. What I have a much harder time understanding is reaching out through four different methods and receiving no response whatsoever. For the amount these services cost, communication and customer care should be part of the experience. In the first treatment, Joan was able to reduce swelling significantly, taught me how to perform lymphatic brushing/drainage on my own and properly fitted me for a compression garment. I got a call from the receptionist to come in an hour earlier to be seen. We got there an hour and a half earlier and there was no one there , so we waited. People started showing up and then they started calling them in one at a time. We sat there from 1:30 -2:50 then we were called and told that the person my mom had an appointment with has an emergency and have to leave. ( by the way, my mom was the only black personality there). I asked if someone else can take care of my mom and was told that they were already booked with their own clients and they don't take walk-ins, which they now considered my mom to be. The nerve of this clinic!! We had to travel 17 miles to this place that was recommended by her doctors. I would not recommend this place to anyone, very unprofessional and lack of empathy. I'll research and find another place for my mother.
