These are the services/professionals I tried: Elisa: does amazing mani-pedis and lymphatic drainage massages, you literally look slimmer after it. I was offered coffee or water as soon as I arrived. Miriam was very focused on her work, and was very nice to me. I recently started biting my nails again and wanted to get a gel manicure to stop it. I was expecting a lot of criticism from any nail tech, but she was very kind. She asked me if I had been biting them, and then just said this would really help. Also let me know there was a guarantee and they would fix it up if it got damaged in the coming days. On top of that, she gave me discount on the gel manicure (regularly $35) because of how small my nails are. My nails came out really nice and are holding up beautifully. The skin around was pretty messed up, so I promise you these little nails are a testament to Miriam's hard work. I could also tell she was just excited by how pretty it was coming out. If timing is a concern, I made an appointment but there was no wait when I got there on a Tuesday afternoon. I would advise calling ahead, because I get the impression they close on a rolling basis. As far as payment, card is accepted but it's an additional $1.50 to tip on the card. Overall: great place! Inexpensive, nice people and experience, great work. Highly recommended!

I'm not bald, but I am really too lazy to do another chemical relaxer to my thick hair especially since I'm going to just sweat it out, so I wanted to get a quick fix. I found a lovely synthetic half wig and they were on sale for $11.99. When my mom saw me, she thought I went to the salon. Good sign, I guess. I'm going back to see if I can get a short haired wig since I always wanted to try it, but I never wanted to cut my actual hair. And it has all the other things you would expect from a beauty supply store in a black neighborhood.
