Not sure if I was just so severely deprived of Asian food, but I felt Takumi's tonkotsu ramen ranked pretty high on my list! And coming from SoCal as well as having lived down the street from both major Japanese food hubs in Los Angeles, that's saying a lot! Good amount of pork, the noodles were cooked to the perfect texture, and the broth was rich without being overly salty. The kimchi as a starter was a win, better than what we can find in Amsterdam. The takoyaki was also delicious- served piping hot and resh. We tried the delicious tan tan men, and their shoyu ramen. The tan tan men was my favorite - creamy chicken soup, sesame paste, chili oil. I'm not sure why the shoyu wasn't as tasty, but the portions were perfect and the amount of noodles was just how we liked. Mine looked haphazardly constructed. The pork belly looked like it was tossed in instead of displayed. Dish temperature could have been a bit hotter as well. Secondly, the broth could have been richer and deeper in taste. Perhaps its saltiness compensated for the blandness of the stock/broth.
