Cocos is a new fast-food Chinese eatery located in the Designer Outlet in Roermond (The Netherlands).
Everything is new and clean. The lighting consists of red flower star bursts hanging from a wavy green metallic ceiling. One can either sit on tables or along the walls.
You order at one end of the long counter and pick up your food at the other, cafeteria style.
They offer soups, noodles, chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, sushi and vegetarian choices. Oddly no pork! Huh? How can a Chinese/Asian establishment exclude the all hallowed pig from their menu? Oh well. I also saw some Thai dishes (soup and curries) but didn't order them.
I saw the sushi platter that someone ordered. They were the smallest sushi's I've seen to date. Easily half the size of what you'd get in a Californian sushi restaurant.
I did order the Duck with 8 veggies (8.90 euros) The duck is served medium with crispy skin. Nice. It rested on the 8 vegetables (broccoli, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, sprouts, cabbage, paksoi) which could have been a bit more substantial and the accompanying sauce was too runny and salty for my taste.
I'd go again if only out of curiosity as to what the other dishes taste like. read more
