First off, the snickerdoodle cookie was yummy, soft and yet had a nice crisp on the sides. Definitely one to try if you like that flavor and their cookies are cheaper than crumble at $3.99. Now the cupcake. I get that it's in a way a boutique bakery, but $5.25 for a little cupcake that was dry? Yah, not sure if it's worth it. The flavor of the frosting was ok. My bf liked it, but it was a miss for me and the cake was dry despite the frosting. I did like the sample cupcake they had at the front of the poppyseed one, since that was moist and had good flavor. Maybe I should've picked that flavor instead. Overall, it was an ok experience.

The blueberry lavender was crunchy and flavorful and one of my favorite macaron flavors.

I called 30 min prior to closing to see what vegan cupcakes they had because on their website I saw "VF Pumpkin" I got excited thinking they brought back the vegan pumpkin so I called to double check. She tells me it's just vegan vanilla & chocolate. I asked if I could go ahead and place an order to pick up and that I was already on the way (I'm just down the street). The lady tells me no, that orders have to be placed in advanced. I asked even if it's just for 1 or 2? She says yes. I said that's weird given I have always just walked in and got them. Again, I asked so if I walk in I can't get one? She says no and that they're about to close (again this is 30 min before, and I've walked in before closing before and have never had an issue, no attitudes). I told her that's weird and she just told me to have a good night in the most snarkiest of ways. Idk who I spoke with, whether it was just a front girl, a manager, whoever... but that was just the rudest experience that I don't think I deserved given I was asking really nicely so I could just be in and out. As someone who is also in the customer service business I have never and would never turn away a client like that. I

Everything was sparkling clean and the young lady on duty was on the phone, obviously talking to a customer, but acknowledged me immediately. When she finished with her customer she formally greeted me with a very pleasant tone and delightful smile - very sweet young woman. All of the cupcakes had simple but lovely decoration. I told her what I needed and she quickly gathered up 18 cupcakes, 3 each of 6 differently flavors. There were 3 or 4 others flavors available that I didn't choose. Since it was close to lunch time I ordered a panini which she quickly put together. I was in and out pretty quickly and very pleased with the shopping experience. The cupcakes were for an early evening adult women's get-together. Everyone remarked how petty they were and seemed to enjoy the cupcakes. Almost everyone asked where I got them. I picked a cupcake with a little orange jelly on top of butter cream that was coated with what I think was crystallized sugar. The cupcake itself was great -very moist - but to my taste, the crystallized sugar was too much on top of the butter cream. I founded it too crunchy and too sweet. I just scraped off as much of the sugar as I could and it was fine - the butter cream was yummy. I will use CC's again.

The space is quite spartan - a super long bakery case, a few employees helping folks in line, and some very bare bones tables and cafe chairs. There's a painted mural and some spare (broken?) shelving in an unlit seating area. Most people appeared to be getting their orders to go. Of course, I tried the Black Forest Cake - it was an unpleasant surprise for me. It's crunchy!!! I'm told it's their own classic recipe and it's what they're known for. It was very sweet and clearly the baker who made it was very skilled. I would not even call it cake though... it wasn't moist, chewy or chocolate-y. It had a light, sweet, melt-on-the-tongue crispy airiness. I'll have to try something different the next time I'm in - and I'll be sure to ask the staff for recommendations, so I'm not taken unawares again.
