I recently attended a meeting here. It was what you'd expect from a library; quiet, spacious, relevant and accessible. A new(er) addition were the solar panels providing car shade from that sun, a win-win in my book! The Heritage Library nearby is awesome too as this one, but on larger scale. Loved this library! They have outside seating where they even let us eat a pizza during our long study day. No food allowed inside which is totally understandable and kept the place perfectly clean. Librarians were helpful and kind, and the parking lot had plenty of spots and solar panels! We loved it here for the couple of days we were visiting. read more

This is everything you could want in a public library! I often go to the Foothills library due to convenience, but the Main library is a phenomenal place to take kids! The kid area is HUGE, with plenty of computers, an abundance of books, and some fun study areas that kids gravitate to for their reading or just for quiet playtime. Most recently, it was decorated with a space/astronaut theme, and it was really cool to see as an adult...I'm sure it was even better as a kid! The library has several private study rooms, and two floors of reference and reading materials, as well as all of the online/distance services that a library could offer. I adore this library. They have wonderful resources both in house and digitally. Their staff is knowledgeable and always willing to offer a recommendation. There are lots of quiet areas to read ad most have amazing views of the surrounding area. They even have a drive through book pickup window and a shelf to order books ahead and have them waiting for you. I also love the wide variety of programs they offer and adorable in house book shop. read more

Yuma's Main Library is the best community library I've seen. With ample natural light, attractive commercial lighting, abundant and comfortable indoor and out door seating, dictionaries conveniently placed on many tables, a variety of comfortable seating arrangement, a small indoor cafe, an abundance of computers, many private rooms for meetings and group study, and lots of community programs, this library has something for everyone. In addition to the above, the library offers both locals and guests the opportunity to checkout books online for reading on computer, Nooks, Kindles, and tablets. Unlike too many community libraries in these financially challenging times, Yuma's Main Library is open six days a week. This is actually worth a stop while passing through Yuma, especially when you can use the computers and check out a book. read more

Wonderful, large, roomy, bright, two story building. They have SO many different classes and activities. There is a used book store with inexpensive prices and new trinkets. Some of the employees go the extra mile while some others will only do the most basic task possible. I travel the country and thus far this is the best library I have visited. read more

Wonderful place to take my little boy during the summer. We read several books he picked out, and there were some very cool puzzle toys he was very into in the kids section. Also there's a cave to read in that he loves. Great library! Only downfall, the coffee shop didn't open and the water fountain tastes like tap water, and Yuma tap water is the worst. read more

The staff is very nice and helpful but they fail to tell people to be quite and there is always kids running around making a lot of noise which is very distracting when you are trying to read or study. Other then that its pretty well organized and big. read more

It's not a quiet library by any means. Kids are running around and screaming throughout most of the day and since the library has such an open concept design there is no escape from the noise. They should have walled off the kids area. I don't hate kids or anything, but there is such a thing as library etiquette and nobody seems to care at this library. read more

Best library I have ever seen. You can go on their website and take a virtual tour. Yuma really outdid themselves on this one. It's really an amazing place. Teen room, Kid room with a faux cave, balconies, conference rooms. All very nice and modern. It makes anyone want to go read. read more

Terrific staff! My Toastmasters International club uses a room and the staff could not be more considerate about our needs.

The premises are great, ample parking, lighting, and a wide variety of books. I've dealt with staff that is not very helpful. And I have dealt with ladies that are very helpful and friendly. I cannot say that all the staff in the computer/study room area on the second floor are all helpful. There is a particular library lady in this area that has a problem with how we as patrons don't use or use the computer or work area. There is the much needed improvement on her part. First, inform patrons of the rules or the process of using a study room, and make this a uniform process that is given to everyone. The process should be clear. It is normal when people are not informed of the steps for a process, we tend to fill in the gaps (of the lack of information) and assume the information of what we know from our experiences. Information given to patrons in this area is not clear, this area is not organized and this lady wants to run it in a military way. Please, we are not soldiers! Last week I reserved a study room and was told that if there were no other reservations after, I could keep using it. I was taking a test and time flew by. When I least expected it was two hours and five minutes. The lady who came in to the next shift chewed me off because I didn't leave. Who is going to feel welcome with staff who chew off patrons! (and the security guard making faces and sharing the attitude, how unprofessional) Other times I have used these rooms and I usually leave before my time is over. And when I see people using the room and I have the reservation I just show up and wait until they leave, I don't have a problem. The library needs to get their staff on the same tune and improve in this area, especially with this lady who doesn't know how to treat patrons (including the security guard). The library lady has no people skills because I saw her chewing off some other patrons. The library should not be hiring people like this lady. I rather go to the San Luis Library where there is no problem using study rooms and get my studies done without getting chewed off by the staff! It's a long drive but it's worth it! I don't have to deal with this nonsense whenever I need to use a study room. read more
