Quarantine Day 6: Open early for breakfast but they also serve their breakfast croissants all day long. They have a great deal on UberEats where if you order $20, you get a free gift. For my order, the free gift was a slice of plain cheesecake which is $5 of value, nothing to scoff at! Everything was packaged well and contained in a paper bag that was stapled shut. I ordered a big breakfast but I'll start with the breakfast croissant. I was a little worried that the croissants would be one of those ready made, way too crisp croissants. My first impression was the croissants were huge! They were also pretty soft and gave the impression of fresh. The one I got was sausage, egg, and cheese. Per the website the egg is a fresh egg cooked up omelette style. I was impressed to see that the sausage was sized to be the same as the croissant and rode the crescent all the way around. It was mildly spiced. The whole thing was pretty tasty. It seemed like a good price for the size of the whole thing. I did like that the breakfast croissants come with a beverage. There was an extra charge $0.60 charge for a chocolate milk. The chocolate milk was Natrel branded and very tasty if not a little bit small although I can drink a lot of chocolate milk lol. The next item I sampled was the nutella/banana dessert croissant. There are almond slivers inside of the croissant and the exterior is dusted with powdered sugar. This definitely was a sweet treat. You really can't go wrong with Nutella. One other thing that originally caught my eye about this place was the amount of beverage selection they have. From home made iced teas, espresso beverages, to bubble tea! I didn't get three drinks this time (surprising I know) but I will be back to try some out. read more

I've tried the Breakfast, BLT, Salami, Turkey, Nutella & Banana and the Plain, which might top them all! My partner went in to get a ham and cheese croissant for me. When he brought it out it was cold so I went back in and asked if they could toast it and they said "no it's too late. Sorry". I heard good thing about this new business from few folks, so, i wanted to check it out myself. I got to admit, they did a nice job revamping the place since the last occupant. They also opened the patio for customers which is great especially in summer time. Previous business of this location did not allow customers to use the patio, not sure the reason behind it. I ordered their grilled chicken croissant sandwich with a mango drink. When i was checking out their gelato collection, which is relatively small, the counter attendant offered me free samples. After trying few free gelato ice cream samples, i could not say no to a small serving of delicious gelato (i love gelato in general). Chicken sandwich was very good, chicken is grilled chicken, they warm it up before serving. I also saw a toaster oven but i didn't get my croissant toasted. It seemed fresh by looking at it, it tasted fresh as well. They bake and prepare their sandwich in front of you. They do not have lots of drink collection though, i tried mango drink which tasted good, better than many mango drinks or slushy i had before. Staff were very friendly as well. This is a new cafe just opened up in the beach area. Their plain, butter croissant is out of this world! It reminds me of a cafe i used to visit while i was in Paris. A crispy, warm croissant with a cup of cappuccino is perfect way to start your day. Small, cozy atmosphere with very friendly customer service. They also have a small, rear patio. I would definitely recommend this place and will come visit again! I have to try their sandwiches. The croissants are good. Coffee is decent. Seating area the same as when Dufflet was there; clean and comfortable. The smoked salmon sandwich was ok, but expensive for the amount of salmon you get. They use Royal Chinet paper plates for the croissants, but glass coffee cups. We will come back. Good for a lazy Saturday breakfast. read more

They are not entirely unique but the idea of offering sandwiches from croissant with so many varieties to choose from is something i never saw or heard of before. I tried both their sweet and savory sandwiches; they are truly yum. I brought few of my friends the other day and my friends tried their iced latte and gelato. Their gelato is very good too. Don't order the brown sugar milk tea; it's too sweet and the flavor is not pleasant. I couldn't taste the milk tea but I tasted a very sweet tapioca flavor but there's no tapioca in it. Their croissants are excellent, rich, flaky and fresh. I had the turkey croissant and added cheese, with a soup for a combo. Decent lunch but the high quality of the croissant was compromised by the low quality of the turkey cold cut that was added. I wasn't expecting fresh turkey to anything, but can tell the difference between the texture of a higher quality cut and this, which was overly salty and had a texture as if there were fillers. The soup, cream of broccoli, seemed to be from a condensed source like Campbell's, and had that gelatin-y wiggle. I will come back to try other things on the menu. We were there a few times a week for bubble tea all through covid tough times. Kids love the teas and croissants. We had our first time where our order was incorrect. I asked for a new tea, they charged me full price for the correct item, no attempt to understand what happened or customer service. As I tried to give feedback about our disappointment today, a woman came from behind the croissant stacks to yell and insist it was totally our fault with the miscommunication; she just kept repeating herself and pointing....great products, unacceptable service. This is a very bad cafe in replacement of Dufflet! We went there on the weekend to grab a sandwich and I didn't have high expectations. The sandwiches were terrible and the croissants were not crispy at all. The turkey on the turkey croissant tasted fake. The lemonade was watered down and not sweet. I can't believe what was once one of the beach's most beloved cafes (Dufflet) has now been turned into this "establishment". The food is sub-par and expensive, the menu is minimal (can only have so many croissants and gelato) & one particular staff member (seems to be the owner or manager as she is there often) is awfully rude and lacks any form of customer service- if you check the reviews on Google the response (which I assume is her) proves my point. I've lived in the area for 29 years and have never been treated so rudely in a local shop. Will never go back & will ensure that anyone I know is aware of my experiences there. It's only a matter of time before they pack up & ship out- let's hope the next cafe is a keeper! & please don't respond trying to suggest I try more variety or give you another chance...not happening. read more

Very nice, clean and quaint little eatery in the beach. The diverse menu and types of sandwich croissants is awesome - I wanted to try more than one, but will just have to go back again because the croissant sandwiches I ordered for myself and my two children were absolutely delicious!! The croissants were freshly baked and buttery and just melt in your mouth. The seating area in the back is nice and there's a pretty little patio. Looks like a lot of care went into this place. What a disappointment. Having walked by several times, I finally had an opportunity to stop in. I ordered the breakfast croissant. It was comparable to Tim Horton's, and this was not a pleasant surprise. I would have thought a place like would serve freshly made, fluffy eggs. Instead, the eggs seemed to be from a package. The bacon, too - not freshly made. My croissant was not toasted, either. Such a let down. Seems like a mediocre place posing as a sophisticated establishment. I didn't like this place at all! First of all, I am a coffee lover and I got a Latte and I am lactose intolerant so I asked for almond milk and they didn't give me almond milk so I had to throw away the $5 latte. Also, my friend came along and she got a latte as well and she did not like it, very low-quality coffee. I got the salmon croissant without cream cheese and it was extremely dry and very little salmon for the amount I paid. Also, the apple they gave me in the combo had a bruise on it. My friend got a Nutella and banana croissant and the banana tasted bad. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. DO NOT RECOMMEND (especially if you have allergies, do not take any chances with this place). Don't waste your time with this place. read more
