When two Yelp/foodie friends posted video review about Yum Buffet, I knew I had to try it. This South Sacramento Asian buffet really does have something for everyone. Mongolian BBQ station, Asian favorites like General Chicken, Honey Walnut Chicken, beef and broccoli, shu mai and more. Teriyaki chicken skewers were delicious. BBQ ribs were yummy. Lots of different kinds of shrimp- fried, cocktail, spot prawns and more. Lots of seafood like dungenous crab, mussels. Clams, oysters and even white fish. At $22.95 for an adult dinner, it's easy to get your money's worth. Lots of desserts, veggies, fresh fruit and more. Next time I'll bring a steak knife and crab tools. There were people pouring in and out of the restaurant when we got there but were seated relatively quickly. Staff did a great job of replenishing food.

Lunch is $16.99, and overall there's plenty of food. Tasty. The waiters work quickly and attentively.

Our go-to option here is the Mongolian BBQ. I love the thick noodles with beef, onions, jalapeños, and mushrooms. I'd prefer to choose my own sauce mix, but they add their own sauce while cooking your meat, noodles, and veggies. I'd add a bit more garlic, ginger, and a drizzle of sesame oil. But their sauce mix was tasty too. It would be great to have bowls available, since things pile up fast when the food is uncooked (at the Mongolian BBQ section). The last time we had lunch here, I got full on their fresh sushi. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and went back a few times. Dessert is a variety of mini-cakes, cookies, and ice cream with tiny baby spoons. Service is ok. They're quick and quiet, but not very warm. They have a huge wall of shame in the front for those who don't pay. Not a good way to feel welcomed. They should have customers pay first to eliminate this problem. Still giving them 4 stars because of the great prices and variety.

Everything was delicious, and the food was served warm--which is very important in places like this. We visited during lunch, so it was quite crowded, and we had to wait a little while. Empty plates were always cleared away promptly, so our table never became cluttered. The only thing we didn't like was being seated right next to other diners, which made us feel a bit awkward; however, overall, it is an excellent spot for a quick and tasty meal.

Came for dinner, 22 pp, senior discount was a lil less. Overall lwk bad lol. "Cheap" buffet so you get cheap foods. I think the sushi selection is not bad but im not a sushi person. They had alot of seafood kinda like oysters, crawfish, small crabs and shrimp but i feel like they werent the freshest, shrimps were like mushy. Alot of there other stuff is jus below par, like beef is chewy, bread soggy, etc. Service is also not great, the workers will straight up jus walk straught and bump into you, our "waiter" or whoever collects our dishes wasnt friendly either. idk why but i wanted to come here again so good to know i wont be coming back lols. They had some random steak at the mongolion bbq area, not good, very chewy and soaked in oil bruh

    Sashimi.

This is a MUST GO. We've eaten at tons of Chinese buffets. This is the winner by a landslide. Everything was so fresh, clean, and tasted amazing. They even had all you can eat sashimi, which you can never find. And to top of it off, it's totally reasonably priced. $21. And $2.50 for a drink. You can't beat it. I promise you won't be let down. If I had one critique, some of the staff members were not very friendly. But hey, can't have it all I guess lol.

$15.99 lunch buffet My sis recommended this AYCE buffet. She emphasized pig's feet. Said the restaurant was located in Sacramento. Heading west from Reno back to the Bay Area we detoured here. Our understanding of Sacramento is very narrow in scope. We know the Capitol, Old Sac, and Cal Expo. That's it. This restaurant is located in the greater Sacramento area. We felt like we were driving and driving. We made it here for lunch around 11:15am. The hostess led us to a table. We asked for water. Then you're led loose to chow down. Naturally we looked for the pig feet. I had two, hubby ate six. The food offerings are abundant. Chinese hot food, sushi rolls, some nigiri like unagi, tuna, and salmon. Fresh fruit, some dim sum, soups, seafood like clams, shrimp, prawns. There's something for everyone. A popular feature is the Mongolian BBQ. I selected a couple of different noodles and mushrooms for the chef to stir fry. I didn't include any protein by this point as I was very full. But it was very tasty. Dirty plates are removed frequently. Don't drop anything on the carpet. It's very grungy. Would I come back? Maybe. Located in a big strip mall near Ross.

Checked out this buffet near 99 Ranch for lunch. There's plenty of seating and we were seated immediately. There's a variety of food from bbq chicken, to vegetables, to sushi rolls. The meats were well seasoned. Nothing was too salty. Our waiter was amazing and cleared out plates pretty quickly. She also checked in on us frequently and refilled our waters.

We've come to this place before I had a pretty decent food experience. However, this last time that we went, the food was actually pretty concerning. I understand that seafood buffets can always be risky. Luckily nobody got sick, but I didn't notice the texture was different with The tuna sashimi. It was actually quite tough to eat, almost as if it had some thin membrane tendon. Maybe I'm not accurately describing, but that's kind of the experience. A lot of the food this time around was actually pretty bland. I didn't wait long enough for the hibachi this time as the line for it was super long. I also didn't notice that the chairs and the carpet in this facility are actually really dirty. I was only here about six months ago, so this was a shocker for me to see the change this drastic Within a year time.

It's not fancy, it's not gourmet and no one item really stands out....but why is it 5 star? VALUE!! for $14.99(lunch), and apparently the price went up?, you can't really find another place that has the selections, variety and taste for that price. For what you get, it's a steal! My go-to here is the stir fry where you can choose your veggies and meat for them to stir fry immediately. Customize in any way you want.

Our fave here is the Mongolian station. Would come again for my asian food fix. Just be careful floor is slippery at the buffet stations!

Yum Buffet was definitely yum for the price! I was surprised to see lots of sushi. The quality of sushi was average, but for the price it was acceptable. There was a huge selection of Chinese food that was tasty. I liked the imitation crab cheese bake as it was very flavorful. There is a lot of different seafood such as salmon, steamed fish (some type of white fish), clams, shrimp, calamari, and imitation crab. The make your own Mongolian BBQ was an awesome surprise! There was a large selection of veggies, noodles, and meat to create your own dish and watch the cook grill it for you. Service was adequate as our dishes were removed periodically.

On May 17, 2025, around 1:00 p.m., my 17-year-old daughter and I came to Yum Buffet & Grill on Florin Road in Sacramento for lunch. What started as a normal outing turned into a very disturbing experience. While we were eating, my daughter went to use the women's restroom. When she came back, she was shaken. She told me that a male employee entered the restroom while she was inside a stall. Without announcing himself or checking if it was occupied, he started pushing open stall doors and sweeping with a broom and dustpan. She wasn't sure if another woman was in the restroom too, but she was terrified and rushed out. I immediately tried to report it to a staff member. A waitress said she didn't know who it was and got a manager. When I spoke to the female manager (white linen shirt), she initially didn't understand the seriousness until I explained, "Imagine if it were you in that restroom." She went to the back, then returned and said the worker was "new." That made me even more upset--new or not, basic respect and privacy matter. Why wouldn't they knock, announce themselves, or send a female employee? I paid the bill (even after they offered a discount) because I wanted proof we had been there. After leaving, I called 911 and later spoke to a Sacramento County Sheriff. He took our statements and said they'd speak with the manager. I understand they may be limited in action, but I believe it's now on record. I'm posting this so others are aware. If anything like this has happened to you or someone you know at this restaurant, please come forward. We need to hold places accountable for keeping safe, respectful environments, especially for young women. Photos of the restaurant and the 911 call record are available. Zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. -- Concerned Parent

Not sure if prices changed. I went 3 months ago. On the weekdays, $13.99 for lunch and $18.99 for dinner.

Weekend dinner was about $22 per person I think? I didn't see prices posted but we paid $50 total with tax & tip (Oct 2022). Reservations weren't needed (although you may want to try and make them for large parties).

    They still have rolls

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did

The bad - the salt and pepper fish had a great batter, but I feel they're battered too much, and the actual fish piece inside is tiny. My house chow mein didn't have a single shrimp in it. Lots of beef, which was good, but the char smell from the beef was the only thing you could taste on the noodles. It's almost like the chef cooked the noodles on whatever the beef was cooked on. The noodles we had ordered from here a month ago had very good flavor, but not a one note beef flavor. There was a lot of beef and chicken in the house chow mein, but zero shrimp means the cook either forgot or they didn't have them and thought it would be ok to add more beef. Either way, I paid extra for my selection, and didn't get it. Am I Pissy? Yes. Am I honest? Also a Yes. 3 stars this trip, probably my last.
