This review is for Dr Polland's Physician Assistant, Christina Lee, Gynecology & Urology. Ms. Lee…read moreis very sweet and polite. Here's what went wrong - she made chastising and snide remarks about always having bacteria in my urine. The urine test showed no bacteria. I mentioned that I had a series of UTI's and had none since my surgery (stent in my kidneys). She had no idea what I was talking about. I am not a new patient to Ms. Lee and her office, uro-gynecology, had my records. She repeatedly dug her fingernails into me during the exam and commented on how thin my skin was and did I feel her nails digging into tissue. Of course I did - keep in mind this was a gynecology exam! Never before have I had an internal exam via fingernails. She noted I had internal irritations. Her clawing fingernails did not help this situation. She did not leave the room after the exam. She stayed in the room, facing me while I dressed. I have never had any doctor or PA do that before. It was uncomfortable and inappropriate. While I appreciate that Dr. Polland is very good at what she does, her PA, who is friendly and smiling, needs to keep her comments to herself, trim her fingernails, and be respectful of patient privacy. Not a good experience.

When I lived in New York, I was lucky enough to find Dr. Peng. To this day, he's one of the best…read moredoctors I've ever had and his staff is fantastic. Why is Dr. Peng so great? Well first of all, he listens and is actively interested in trying to figure out what happened and how we can find a solution. While sitting in the examination room, Dr. Peng would absorb everything I said, then ask me detailed follow-up questions. He would think out loud about possible causes of whatever issue I was complaining about, and you could see the wheels in his head turning as he went through one possibility after another. It was like watching a detective work. Throughout the process, he encouraged my input ("Do you think it could be related to ______?"). After we discussed all the possible scenarios, Dr. Peng would make a treatment plan and then we'd set up a follow-up appointment. Every time I saw him it was the same process: He would listen to my updates, then we'd make a new plan based on what worked and what didn't. In the end, we successfully figured out a solution to my problem. Overall, I found Dr. Peng warm, friendly, and intensely caring. I no longer reside in New York, but I highly recommend him if you live there and are in need of a urologist.

He is, quite literally, everything you want your doctor to be. Let's face it. The procedure is a little bit like going to the dentist. Nobody wants to go, but it's quite necessary. We're all scared, ummm.... sh*tless by teh procedure, but Dr. Vozick was calming and reassuring. Made sure I understood every step of the procedure. The preparation was still... ummm.. bad. But after the prep, Dr. Vozick made the whole thing easy peasey. I am *so* glad I went to him. I know it's weird to hear someone gush about a proctologist, but... he's the best!

He is respectful of his patients' concerns, always taking the time to explain things and to answer important questions. Yes, there usually is a long wait at his office, but that's because Dr. Florio is thorough, considerate, and doesn't rush through exams or consultations; the same applies to his very competent medical assistants. As for the front-desk staff, we have usually found them to be polite and attentive to patients in the waiting room. We haven't been to the office within the past couple of years, but last time we were there the waiting room and the office itself were comfortable, clean, and relatively modern; the only negative thing we remember about the waiting room are its doors, which for some reason were unusually heavy -- a potential disadvantage for disabled patients, who milght need the assistance of office staff to open and close them. (This design flaw may or may not have been corrected as of this writing.) At any rate, my husband's and my own experiences with Dr. Florio and staff have been consistently helpful. Highly recommended.
