My main doctor recommended him to make a prosthetic BPH SURGERY. In April 4th ,2023 , He messed my prostate and leave me in a incontenance until today June 26 2024 , he doesn't know what procedure he did , and i am still in a sharp pain urination every 20 minutes , I go to the bathroom , I stayed with him like 8 months to find cure for me , but all he was doing was a fraud to the Medicare . He used to take a urin sample, send it to the lab , and said to me the test is good , give another urin sample and come next week , and send a bill to my insurance for $ 300 . Most was denied ,7 months I couldn't set on ma but on the chair or drive a car or set down and eat , .i found out there is no hope he will fix the damage or send me to consult som other uruologist to have an idea for what happened to me , he got insulted , I went to NYLANGOON in Manhattan the check up what Lazar did , he found hi damaged my bladder and prostate and upper penile , the schedule me to do an acquablation to clear my urethra , and I hop I will feel better again I will ever recommend him for any body and any kind of job . I'm writing this review because, although I am not a patient of Dr. Lazare's, he may have exposed me and my roommate to COVID-19 due to his unsanitary practices. My roommate went to see him today and he reported that Dr. Lazare was not wearing a mask when he entered his office. When he asked Dr. Lazare, "Where is your mask?" Dr. Lazare looked for it, then found it on his desk and put it on. My roommate then asked him if he has yet been vaccinated. The doctor said yes, then took off his mask, and conducted the rest of the examination WITHOUT A MASK!!!! I was angry at my roommate for staying and not making him put on his mask, both of us have secondary health conditions that put us at high risk; but that doesn't excuse Dr. Lazare's irresponsible, unprofessional, and thoughtless behavior. I went to see Dr. Lazare at a time that I was scared and confused about what to do about my uteral stone. I was having pain and was feeling very uncomfortable. Dr. Lazare made me feel at ease. He is an excellent doctor and I would refer my family and friends to his office. The supporting staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable. They were courteous and very welcoming. Heed the warnings of the reviewers on multiple websites reporting very sketchy billing practices. I swear to God, Dr. Lazare and his receptionist spent 45 minutes trying to convince me to pay them $400 cash because the card reader was supposedly broken. I only owed $50, which my insurance company verified multiple times by phone. Ultimately, Dr. Lazare haughtily refused services because I was "refusing to pay" for said services. They took my debit card and photocopied it, which in retrospect strikes me as bizarre. The entire experience was a nightmare. I hope somebody investigates this practice, because something not kosher is going on. read more

Just piece of advice for new patients - keep looking for different doctor, who is gonna be professional and helpful. Because this is not what you're going to find at mr. Lazare's office. I found him online on yelp - my bad. Should have listened to other reviews left by others patients previously. I was there 3 times, paid my copay (50$ every time) and got zero help and info. Doctor (I'm calling him that just because of diplomas on the wall, he wasn't actually the one for me) saw me the first time, asked few questions, performed ultrasound, but said that he's not an ultrasound technician so he can't give me any info after the procedure (I still got billed after for procedure he's not competent to perform). What the heck. Asked to do urine test and schedule ultrasound at Lenox hill radiology. But first - come for test results in 5 days. And I came back in a week. He had no clue who I was at that moment (2visit!!!), so I had to remind him what I told him and that he did ultrasound already on my kidneys. This time he said I should go for ct scan, urine test didn't show any issues and ultrasound is not gonna be really helpful (then y do it at the first place?!). And do more urine test and blood test. So no info again. Just more tests. I did blood test. I did CT. The day before my next appointment I called an office and asked if it's time to come, if doctor has tests and CT results. Receptionist said "yes, you can. You're all set". I came back the 3d time. Doc had No clue who I was again (!!!) Had to remind why I was there. Again. Remind that he SENT me for all those tests. And he didn't even get any results. So lady on the phone lied just to make me come and pay copay 50$ the 3d time. And guess what - he was sending me for more tests!!! He said "it's ok! We REALLY need to check it. It's ok." This is where I said respectfully "Doctor, it's not ok" and left his office. And never ever coming back. And hopefully my review is gonna be helpful for people who don't wanna be fooled. read more

I had the worst experience with the front office staff. The receptionist informed me that my insurance had made a change and Dr. Lazare was no longer in network. She proceeded to tell me I had to pay out of pocket if I wanted to see the doctor. I refused and left the office. I called my insurer and found out that in fact, Dr. Lazare is in network. I called his office to tell them and the receptionist didn't respond and no one attempted to call me to apologize. dr had no patients while i sat in waiting room- refused to see me despite 4 metroplus sr managers saying on speaker phone my insurance is ok. Dr is cold, abrasive and calculated, -needed refill on my prescription. all he had to do was take blood pressure maybe one other in house test, zero cost other than time. so instead of helping an existing patient get a much needed prescription , at zero cost other than his time-no patients waiting,he said nothing denied me on principle. unacceptable -after over 2 hrs there i left with no prescription and he saw 1 other person during that time DO NOT GO-GET ANOTHER DR read more

My prostate flared up and the nearest doctor that could see me immediately happened to be this guy. It was my first and last visit to this facility. They asked for my insurance so I provided it and they said you have to pay $190 because you still didn't cover your $500 deductible. This was strange because I just visited the doctor and covered that deductible so I contacted my employer to confirm and they did confirm I covered my deductible. The front desk girls were not hearing me at all and the nastiest one of them all was the billing girl who was also sitting there. I got my insurance on the phone and they tried to explain that the deductible was covered but a portion wasnt processed but they were willing to expedite that and did so, however, the billing girl got angry and said that shes not going to speak to anyone ran out to the doctor who then came out called me into his office and flat out told me listen you either pay $190 or not we dont care take it or leave it. I left. This is the worst experience I ever had at a medical facility. These people are rude and completely have no interest in anything except MONEY. I have proof that I covered my deductible but they didnt care they just wanted the cash. If there was an option for zero stars Id sign up for that. I had an appointment with this doctor. But since his front desk girl SABINA didn't know her job. Or how to check on a referral she kept putting myself And my primary doctors office on hold and kept hanging up on us. When we were trying to explain what she needed to do so that we can see the urologist. She told me she had no time to call and check his referral. And that I'm annoying because I and my primary office keep calling. I asked to speak with someone else in the office or even the doctor and she said no and hung up on me. I called this morning and asked to speak with the office manager they took my name and number and she still has not called me. If you or a family member needs to see a urologist go see Dr. Jacob Sharaby. He is very good. Explains things well and his staff was more then capable. I received the referral and they had it approved within minutes. I am also putting a complaint in with board of health. Just because she kept hanging on me for over an hour. The hospital referred this office to see this doctor and I don't feel any office should treat people this way. read more
