Food: Overall tasty, but just about everything that isn't a salad is fried. A cheap way to fill you up quickly. Cleanliness: Even after asking them to wipe the table, there were still a lot of old food crumbs from previous meals on the underside of the plexiglass table. Service: Won the honor of worst service during our 3 week trip. Waited one hour to get our savory courses, and another 65 mins to get our dessert. Waitress was world class at avoiding our table.

Great place, a vegan oasis with bar to boot. Many a GF item and each dish was nicely presented, tasty and unique when compare to most vegan place. A winning combo with the seasonal menu. Moneybags to start, nice and crispy, not oily, zucchini blossoms and the eggplant dish. Bottomed off with the pudding and coconut v ice cream. Warm and cost on a cold night. Do agree with earlier review that the crate tables are cramping for a other wise nice dining experience.

The chefs here are so creative with the menu that I forgot that I was eating vegetarian (who said vegetables have to be boring ?). I knew my taste buds would be in for a pleasant ride when the first entrées arrived from our banquet menu (tofu rice spring rolls and zucchini flowers). The different components of these dishes worked really well together (I still don't know what the stuffing in the zucchini flower was but it was good) as well as the sauces that came with them - so much flavour going on ! I won't go into every single other thing I ate from the banquet menu as there was a LOT (which by the way was just for a very reasonable price of $38pp only) but from Haloumi to Involitini to Vietnamese Crepe to Felafel, Yulli's draws inspiration from all types of cultures and creates excitement for its vegetarian dishes. Oh and for a vegetarian place , they have an extensive list of local brews on offer so a great place for beer lovers wanting to sample the local breweries of NSW. Bookings are highly recommended - it was extremely packed on the Friday I went and they had to allocate us a 90minute time limit for dining because it was so busy.

What a surprise discovery in Surry Hills It's not easy to find a vegan place in Sydney, but Yulli's a hidden gem worth half an hour journey from downtown Great vibe and service Choice of different size of vegan dishes for everyones appetite. Recommend moneybags for starter - they are delicious Baked zuccini with roasted summer veggies and balsamic glazed bok choy, parmesan and chevre, finished with cranberry and Shiraz compote&almond flakes gives you instant foodgazm Chargrilled eggplant pizza is not too shady too ! Finish off with coconit sago pudding or chocko&avocado mousse and that gives you Overall best vego place in town !

I first sauntered into Yulli's around lunchtime on a Thursday, looking for a crisp beer and light lunch. I grabbed a seat at their ever-inviting sofa near the door and took a browse though the menu. Carefully crafted, wonderfully inventive and, oh wait, vegetarian?! I was surprised, but not deterred. I'm not the gnaw-on-flesh type of girl, but do usually go for a bit of protein around midday. Despite, I ordered the Pear and Orange salad, which came accompanied by oak leaf lettuce, coral lettuce, tomato, cucumber, Spanish onion, avocado and a cranberry dressing. It was refreshing and crisp and although not totally fulfilling, did make a dent in my hunger. Most notable about Yulli's is the beer menu. With brews from the local likes of Murray's and 4 Pines, to some regional standouts like O'Brian from VIC and Little Brewing Company from Port Macquarie, the menu doesn't hold back. I for one can never seem to get past the Cinnamon Girl Spiced Ale from St Peters Brewery, St Peters NSW. Being a) a girl who b) loves cinnamon, this is an obvious choice. It certainly is a mouthful (of flavor and hops), but hell, isn't every good "girl" a little bit of a challenge?

Food was tasty but something about the overall price per dish left us feeling a little unsatisfied. I understand it's a wine bar and therefore caters to those looking for more of a dining experience, however some items just didn't meet expectations. I will say the san choi bao had an excellent flavour. Lunch service was a bit slow for the amount of people in the bar as well.

A vegetarian paradise, Yulli's is a fab restaurant offering tapas-style share plates which are meat free. Yulli's is understated from outside but once indoors it has a warm inviting atmosphere and is the perfect place to kick back with wine and nibbles. If the weather is good try and get a table outback in the outdoor garden area, which has created a lovely atmosphere complete with fairy lights and brilliant astroturf on the walls. My tips are order the mixed chip plate and a bottle of wine while you read the menu and pick your dishes. I recommend the falafel plate, baby burritos and the pan-fried Haloumi. Personally I think Yulli's could get away with changing its name to Yummi's.

It was the first time there so the $40 pp banquet deal (min 4 people) seems to be the ideal way to sample various dishes without the headaches of perusing through the extensive menu. Food was incredibly yummy and filling. Forget that $40 filet mignon; instead dine at Yulli's and indulge in real food that nature intended.

Stumbled in to Yullis recently on a Sunday afternoon, after picking up the sweet strains of guitar and vocals from a muso positioned in the front window. Soon discovered the establishment was vegetarian, with competent and friendly service and some nice small plate offerings. A couple of wines by the glass and we saw out the set. Small crowd, but it didn't distract. The vibe was still fine by me.

Well, I thought I was going to have a glass but I ended up getting a tasting flight because it was so tempting. They offer wine by the glass, bottle, flight or you can do a tasting at the bar. It was a brilliant experience. The staff were really nice - pleasant, knowledgeable on product offerings and really relaxed. I got the 'come to the dark side' flight, which was all reds. I asked her to pour me a little less because I was driving and it comes out around 2 glasses in total. I asked her to pour me half of each and pour a full one of 'the best one.' After a long deliberation (she told me) she poured the shiraz as the full glass. I had always thought I didn't like shiraz. Well I was wrong - now I do! I will always remember that this was the place that taught me. My friend ordered a different flight that had whites and reds, and also a cheese pairing for the flight - they match each cheese to a wine. I tried all of hers and all her cheeses. Really liked the majority even though bubbles and certain types of white aren't as much my jam. Really great place and good value for money. A nice, classy experience without being intimidating or pretentious. I'd love to come back here again - and next time I'd make sure I wasn't driving. IT'S ON!!

The GPO cheese room has a large selection of wine from many regions around the world, much like their cheese offerings. We browsed the menu trying to decide what to order, a difficult task considering everything they have to offer. Do we pick a couple of different types of cheese, burgers, antipasto, a cheese and wine flight or a main? Nope, we spot that they have fondue on the menu, something you do not come across too often in Sydney. This is something that appeals to my Swiss roots. We select a nice glass of pinot and sip away, in anticipation for the brie coulommiers and truffle fondue to arrive. The fondue hits the table, the flame is lit and the cheese melts, turning into a bowl of liquid goodness. The fondue set was very impressive, consisting of a large platter containing a selection of cured meat, potatoes, bread, crackers, pickled figs and grilled garlic prawns. The fondue forks were kept busy as we were selecting items to pass through that decadent mix of cheese and truffle, transforming each item into a mass flavour infusion. At $56 between two, it is great value. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the GPO cheese room, set up in the historic post office building at the bottom of Martin Place.
