Kind and caring staff, who really try their best to find good homes for lost and abandoned animals.

When I arrived to pick her up, I was absolutely shocked to find that she had been completely shaved. This is not only negligent but demonstrates a serious lack of understanding of proper grooming for this breed. Shaving a Sheltie is harmful and can cause permanent coat damage, skin irritation, and increased risk of sunburn and heat stress. My dog is a beautiful, lively Sable Sheltie, and now she looks and feels nothing like herself. I am extremely upset and disappointed with the service I received. For reference, it is never appropriate to shave a Shetland Sheepdog. Their double coat serves to regulate temperature, protect from sun and moisture, and insulate against both heat and cold. Shaving removes this essential protection and can cause irreversible harm. I provided explicit instructions for a trim and brush-out only, so I am at a loss as to how this happened. I will be posting a detailed review with before and after photos. I have had her at this groomer before and it was done properly. I don't know if I can trust to bring her back again. If I could give negative stars I would.

My new puppy & I thoroughly enjoyed her 6 week puppy socialization classes. I was amazed at how effective the positive reinforcement method of training is and how quickly my puppy learned commands. Kathleen did an excellent job of explaining the reasoning behind each technique. She has endless patience and it is obvious she loves all dogs. After only 6 weeks my puppy now knows the basic commands sit, down, stay, come, leave it, and she is getting a good grasp of loose leash walking. We also had a great time meeting & playing with all the other puppies. I plan to continue training classes with Kathleen on level 2 dog training. I highly recommend PawsitivePooch.Dog Training, Kathleen is the best!

She never makes you feel bad about anything you have or haven't done in the past and she acknowledges each small achievement you and your dog make. Not only that but her techniques work and she works with any techniques you've already taught your dog to integrate them into the skills she's teaching them (and you!) She has MANY ideas to work with all types of issues. Also, she has a small group that she holds on certain days of the week that include play AND a small amount of training. I'm so glad we decided to attend Pawsitive Pooch, we're learning so much and our dog's manners are improving!!
