The communication/scheduling process was quite strange and overly complex. However, he was prompt, worked quickly and efficiently, and was very kind and considerate. The dryer's working again! I told Bill, the office coordinator, that we have three indoor units and one outdoor unit (the condenser). He said that the total would be $385, but since I'm a new customer there would be a $100 discount, making the total $285 - his words. I agreed to these terms. At no time during our conversation was a figure of $485 uttered by him, something I would not have accepted, even with the discount. And yet, the invoice that I received two days after service completion (about 2 hours' work by one technician) asked for $485 minus the $100 discount, plus a fuel surcharge of $7.50. I called to complain that this was not the agreed-upon amount, but Bill simply denied having made that offer. But I know what I heard him clearly say. Lesson learned - never accept an unwritten quote! The work done was underwhelming - acceptable, but more or less perfunctory without much oral communication about the state of the system. I would recommend anyone needing this service to shop around and get everything in writing before agreeing to the terms. I will not be a continuing customer.
