They insisted that they do not make mistakes like that and was told repeatedly that "somebody is fucking with your medicine." The bottles were still in the stapled bag from the pharmacy when I opened them. Despite insisting that my medicine was being tampered with, they also refused to replace them because that just wasn't their policy. The medicine in question doesn't even have a schedule class. They're a local business and I wanted to like them. But for as many issues as I've had with CVS they've never treated me this way. Go somewhere else.

I would have given them a 1-star rating but felt that it was unfair to judge them too harshly for the one incident - the reason for the 2-star is that they take forever to ship supplies, and they do not follow up with customers that need regular supplies - as a two-time stroke survivor, I have very bad memory issues and often forget to order new CPAP or diabetic testing supplies - when I asked if it was possible for them to give me a reminder call when I was due to reorder, I was told that the owner specifically forbade that practice... not very conducive to building good customer relationships. However, the final straw was due to an act of what I, AND my medical insurance provider, consider to be dishonest, and downright shady. I recently had to get a new CPAP machine because my old one is now obsolete and certain parts and supplies are no longer available. My insurance provider covers 100% of the cost of both the machine and the supplies, but Advanced Medical Solutions tried to charge me an additional $135 as a "special fee that is not covered by the insurance companies". I called my insurance provider (HAP) who confirmed to me that the machine was covered 100% and that there should be NO out of pocket expenses. The HAP agent I spoke with asked me to hold on the line while he called Advanced Medical Solutions and after speaking with them, even he could not determine why they were trying to charge me for something that was 100% covered, and he explained to me that they could not charge me extra as they were under contract to provide the machine for a specific price for which, I had 100% coverage. I was willing to put up with the minor inconvenience of missing a few days where I was late ordering and they weren't reminding me, but act act of dishonesty loses my business every time. I have no idea if this has happened to anyone else but for those reading this, that may need to rely on Advanced Medical Solutions for a new CPAP machine, and who are charged this "special fee that the insurance doesn't cover", I strongly advise you to speak with your insurance company first, before paying the fee. As it was explained to me by my insurance provider, when a home medical equipment provider is contracted to provide a particular service or device (that is to say, they accept your insurance) then they are bound over to only charge a certain amount as per the percentage of coverage - if, as in my case, the item(s) are covered 100%, then the equipment provider cannot charge you more on top.

I chose this DME provider because they were one of the only authorized providers in the area for Cubby Beds and had positive reviews--though now I question their authenticity. In August, I submitted all required documentation for my son's Cubby Bed, including a detailed letter of medical necessity and prescription for the full system (bed, canopy, mattress, and tech hub). My insurance approved everything quickly and without issue. However, the DME company submitted the order incorrectly as only ONE unit of durable medical equipment. When I called to clarify, I was told it should have been submitted as FOUR separate units. This forced me to go back to my insurance company to correct THEIR mistake, causing unnecessary delays and confusion. After finally getting approval corrected, the bed was delivered--but without the tech hub. When I followed up, I was then told (months later, on December 30) that the tech hub was actually a FIFTH unit that had never been submitted. Again, I had to contact my insurance company myself to fix their error. My insurance approved the additional unit immediately, but because it was approved on December 30 and the company was closed for New Year's, the order was delayed and the tech hub went on backorder. I was assured it would still be delivered and backdated. It is now April, and we still have not received the tech hub. To make matters worse, our insurance has since changed, meaning we will likely never receive it. This is not just an inconvenience--this is a serious safety issue. The tech hub includes monitoring features that are critical for my son, who has epilepsy. This equipment could literally help save his life during a nighttime seizure, and we are without it due to repeated errors and mismanagement by this company. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and repeated mistakes throughout this process are unacceptable. I strongly urge other families to choose a different DME provider. This has been an incredibly frustrating and concerning experience, and no family should have to fight this hard for medically necessary equipment.
