    If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would ! Like another yelper recently said this place is indeed a JOKE! I made this appt in November for 2 of my three kids. The appt was at 1pm. They told me to come at 12:30 to sign paperwork. I did and the lights were off. No one was there. I called and was directed to the call center and they couldn't reach anyone either. I waited 20 minutes in the rain and went back to the door and saw a lady with dark hair and a red shirt sitting at the front desk. She saw me and I saw her and she got up and went in the back never to be seen again. I thought she was going to come around a wall to open the door but I never saw her again. There was a dim light in the hallway that was on and when I went back to the other window it was all of a sudden turned off. I called again and got directed to the call center and spoke to someone else who was still unable to reach anyone. After all the appt confirmation text messages I got, not once did they send me a cancellation or a message to reschedule. For whatever reason. The lights were off and I was in the rain with my two kids waiting for almost an hr for an appt that never happened ! I will never and I mean never come back to this office !

    We made an appointment to see Dr. Alexander, DoS. Turns out it's actually Dr. Alexander Corporation, aka Youthful Tooth, which is a dental sweat shop, herding poor kids through their dental production line to squeeze as much Denti-Cal money out of them as they can get. The lobby was jammed with people waiting to be seen. The receptionists were rude, unhelpful and hostile. They handed me a clipboard with a bunch of suspect paperwork to fill out, asking for irrelevant information such as my marital status and the name, address and phone number of a neighbor! Really?! When we were finally brought into the back for x-rays and an examination, I took a few pictures of my daughter (gotta have pics of her first dentist visit) but was told I couldn't take any pictures of my daughter, because it was a liability issue. Really?! A liability issue?! I'd like to know how me taking pictures of my own daughter is a liability issue for Youthful Tooth. Next some lady in a white coat, so I'm supposed to assume she is a DDS because she's wearing a white coat, shows me an x-ray and says my daughter has a cavity, which we already knew about. Then instead of simply filling the cavity, she tells me they'll have to perform a root canal and make a crown, which would require putting my daughter under anesthesia twice. I said. "Are you serious? You want to put a four year old kid under anesthesia, twice to perform a root canal and a crown, on a baby tooth?!" You know, because obviously Youthful Tooth can get a lot more money from Denti-Cal for performing a root canal and a crown rather than just filling a cavity on a baby tooth that is going to fall out anyway! Things didn't get any better back in the lobby when I asked for copies of the paperwork I signed, which state that I acknowledge I received copies, but I was not given copies, and when I asked for copies the receptionist glared at me like I had said something vulgar. She told me they don't give out copies of paperwork, except to a dentist. I said I want copies because the forms state that I acknowledge I received copies, and I have a right to have a copy of anything I signed, and I want copies to show my daughter's mom, and the obtuse receptionist says, "Is her mother a dentist?" I said, No, she's my wife, and I want copies of the paperwork I signed so I can show it to her." The receptionist says, "Hold on." Then goes in back again. When she returns a few minutes later she ignores me, so I ask, "Are you making copies of my paperwork for me?" She say, "Let me check." Then disappears into the back again. After about five minutes someone else comes out, a black woman, and she says, "We normally don't give out copies of any paperwork." So I say, "The paperwork I signed states that I have been given copies." And she says, "Well, normally there is a charge for any copies we make." So I said, "Which is it? Normally you don't give out copies of the paperwork people sign, or normally you charge them for copies, which they have a right to, of the paperwork they signed? Never mind, you people are unbelievable." As in all of you people that work in this dental sweat shop shamelessly squeezing as much Denti-Cal money out of poor people are unbelievable. So, I will be finding a real dentist for my daughter, and soon Youthful Tooth will be sending copies of all my paperwork, and x-rays and everything else to that dentist, because I will never make the mistake of bringing my daughter back to Youthful Tooth again. And you shouldn't bring your kid here either. I've posted some of the pictures I took that are a liability issue. F!$@!k you, Youthful Tooth. The sooner you go out of business the better.

    Haven't been here in over 2 years. Things are drastically different. There is a waiting room that sits approximately 20 yet the waiting area is filled with twice that. People standing, waiting outside. Called us in for x-ray after waiting 40 minuets only to send us back to the waiting area where we waited for another 30 minutes. The authorization form is completely in Spanish. When I asked for an English version, I was told that was the only form as the receptionist attempted to translate what I was authorizing. The staff is fairly friendly and the cleaning took about 5 minutes. But the wait is crazy. The dental hygienist did apologize so for that an extra star.

    Horrible place! Dont tramatize your children by bringing them here! The receptionist are rude and rest of the staff are inexperienced.

I had proceeded with it initially, it was meant to be a multi-series of appointments, but my next one got cancelled and I had a gut feeling, so I never pursued setting it back up. I went to a dentist a few years later, magically none of the issues I had were what was presented by hygienist in 2021. I started seeing a new dentist again this year and again, I was reminded how all of these supposedly severe issues I had in 2021 weren't a thing. I thought it was just important to echo what you're seeing in the other reviews here. It feels like this place is just trying to rack up money rather than actually provide care. There's better places just in driving distance. It'd be even better to pay out of pocket somewhere else than whatever might happen to your pocketbook here.

In fact, due to the recent shake up of so many dentists not taking Delta Dental, we moved our kids there too. So now the whole family goes. I basically just go for cleanings... twice a year despite the recommended 3 times.. (the third one would not be covered. Penny-wise and pound foolish, perhaps, but two times in a year has done me well so far.) My only gripe is a minor one. I like continuity and having the same person do my cleanings. I had Tui at first and then it was another one whose name I forget but she did it perhaps twice so I was growing accustomed to her. Last time I went, they had a person who was, per what she told me, a temporary person. She kinda rushed it, with no nice comments or feedback regarding my flossing. About which.. I can't remember if I mentioned it but their previous comments gave me a complex about my flossing. So I switched to that Oral-B charcoal and mint where the floss is black. And it is so satisfying to floss with it and actually see the plaque that is scraped away. It shows up against the black thread of the floss. To be candid, I was waiting for some props on results of the improved flossing and felt a bit deflated when they never came. Oh well... first world problems as they say. Of course, nothing is perfect and the best evidence of my satisfaction level is my continued and expanding business with the doctor. And in any case the front desk staff is always super nice, welcoming, professional and great with kids. Keep it flossin!

He is a little bit expensive but totally worth it. Like many of his patients, my family has stayed with him for the 25 years he has been practicing. Between us all, we have had a lot of work done and always been satisfied. It is just a bonus that he knows us well too. He focuses on preventative care which is really nice. When I was a kid, he would joke that I had "the curse of the tooth-fairy" as I had teeth come in with holes in the enamel. As a consequence, I have had more sealants and fillings than I care to admit. I never realized how spoiled I was to have a good dentist until I moved away and had very bad experiences with random dentists in college. Since moving back, although I am no longer next door, I religiously make the trip to get my teeth cleaned here every six months to stay off any major dental work (the hygenists are great as well). I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new dentist.
