Unfortunately, at the register I was told by the manager that "since it was store-owned" (despite being marked 50 percent off in red sharpie), it would not qualify for the sale. This directly contradicted what two separate employees had told me. I truly love Uptown and I've always appreciated their sales, but this situation felt neither ethical nor consistent. Clear and consistent policies protect both customers and staff, and I hope this feedback helps prevent confusion in the future.

But aren't you supposed to be helping the less fortunate and not ripping them off? Goodwill used to be good. However, this is a junk collection place now. I've seen empty pasta containers, dollar store, items self for triple the price. Items that are "less than" sellable. What gives? The only good things that are priced, would be the books, some electronics due to their 24 hour warranty, and some random knock knacks.
