We had high hopes for Dawson Relocation Services after reading all the positive reviews, but it…read moreended in disappointment. I arranged for my elderly parents to hire them to help prepare a move into assisted living in California. Things started well, with an employee making regular visits to help my mother decide on what to pack. We had them start the packing process early, but an assistant that came on the job late packed all of my father's sweaters and winter coats and had them shipped to California (where they are clearly not needed). My father had previously conveyed he didn't want them packed, instead to be left for the estate sale. And a bunch of family photo albums that we labeled to be shipped were not sent in the moving truck. After the estate sale, while the house was being cleaned out, my parents' realtor found these heirlooms left in the house with "to be shipped" tags still on them. She was kind enough to ship them out to California. You would think a company specializing in senior move management would be more clueful and careful in making decisions for seniors who were clearly overwhelmed packing up their home of 50+ years. I would not recommend this company.

I appreciated how easy Terri was to coordinate with - she even did a FaceTime with me before the session to give me some organization product ideas. Amy was our organizer on the day and she was lovely to work with. She helped us go through our master closet in a very nonjudgmental and straightforward way. She helped us donate almost 3 bags of items. We plan on working with Terri and her team again and would recommend for anyone to hire her for your organizing needs.

After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. Terri and Kammy are kind, professional, quite fair in their pandemic requirements, and most of all -- HELPFUL. Money well spent again!

If you are looking for organizing services, I would highly recommend reaching out to Maria. She and her staff also took all the necessary precautions with COVID. My brother and I knew we needed a compassionate third-party to help make this happen, and Emily was exactly that presence. We're really glad we chose to work with her! What sets Emily apart is that she is encouraging, passionate, genuinely happy to help, and considers every family member's thoughts, concerns, and MANY opinions throughout the process. She walked us through every step, explaining options, encouraging progress, and keeping things moving without anyone feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Emily helped us clean out our parents' garage full of 30 years worth of accumulated belongings and everyday continuous living without much organization ever put in place. Together, with my family, she worked a full, on-foot, day and provided hands-on services that resulted in 2 DUMPSTERS+ full of trash, and simultaneously passed along her thoughtful guidance on donation resources for everything else that wasn't distinctly trash. Our parents continue to reference "Emily said..." when making decisions, and instead of arguing in circles, or debating every little decision with other family members/friends, they're now slowly but steadily cleaning out the rest of the house with a shared mindset, as well. That long-term shift alone has made this experience more than worthwhile for our family. My brother and I are beyond pleased. This wasn't just a clean garage--it was a meaningful, lasting gift that keeps on giving. We cannot recommend Emily highly enough!!

I've had many different organizers in my home over the past decade and have most recently been using the "Duchess"...or duchesses. Brooke Milton came over for a consultation back in December and we made a plan to get my house in order for 2023. Thanks to Brooke this is one New Years resolution I may actually stick to! Since then Lily, who works with Brooke, has been coming over weekly and has made a ton of progress on my house. She spent the first month in my mess of a basement and I think got rid of half the basement. I think that's what makes Brooke and Lily so good at their jobs. Past organizers organized what I have, but they focus on the decluttering...and then organizing what you need to keep. And let's face it...the lack of organization comes from having too much stuff! Today she moved upstairs to get working on organizing our first floor. My 7 year old came home from school and opened up a drawer, which is usually full of crap (I mean toys). He yelled "what the heck? We've been robbed!" But even my 7 year would appreciated that he can now find what he wants thanks to the systems Brooke & Lily have put in place. And the rest has been thrown out or donated...and my kids have yet to miss anything that has disappared from the basement. Speaking of donations they also schedule a weekly donation service so that everything gets picked up right away! My plan is to have Lily continue working her way thru my house and help me pack up my kitchen for a renovation this summer. After it's all organized I hope to have her come once a month so that it stays organized!

Elizabeth was the upmost professional and made this place (that probably hadn't been deep cleaned in many, many years) look amazing. Not only was the job done exceedingly well but she remained a top-notch professional through it all (and let's just say there were signs of said animals throughout the place). Highly recommend!
