Before I start my review, I want to say that the office staff that I met today (outside of Dr Sandoval) are outstanding! Very caring, kind and they go the extra mile! Thank you to the office staff for the warmness you provided me with today! Now, let's get down to the issues I had at my appointment this morning.
I have been struggling with foot pain for the entirety of my 28 years due to being flat footed. I am finally able to see a Podiatrist, the specialists of the feet, so of course I take a look at good ole google and read some various reviews. Well, "Your Total Foot Care Specialist" has wonderful reviews about how the doctor's treated them and so on and such forth. I made an appointment with this office, and I went into the office ecstatically. Dr Sandoval was my assigned doctor today.
Dr Sandoval is not a very good listener. On a scale of 1-10, I would give her a -5 for wasting my time and a $45.00 co-pay. Dr Sandoval evaluated my foot x-rays that were taken just before I went back to a room. She walks into the room, and I instantly knew she just did not want to be there which I can understand and overlook, because work sucks sometimes and we all have bad days. Dr Sandoval did not say "Good Morning, how are you doing/feeling today?" or even the basic "What brings you in today?" She immediately sits down, points at a picture of a foot on the wall and says, "You have flat feet." Well, I already knew that which is why it was written down as my "reason for visit" paperwork. She grabbed my feet which hello, are in intense pain which I had already told her. and she starts moving my legs around which she did not even explain the reason, I had to ask her why she was doing it. The answer is she was testing my range of motion. Alright so now my feet are crying, and my legs and I are just confused. She rushes through telling me that flat feet cause pain and that I probably walk differently than those who do not have flat feet. No way, I could have told any of her patients that. She automatically goes to order a pair of custom orthotics for me and a numbing agent for my feet.
She did not listen to a single one of my questions or comments. She flat-out ignored me. Due to this and my insurance stipulations I told her that I wanted to get a second opinion. When she asked me why, I replied "I just feel like you're not really listening too me." She got quite the attitude, mumbled something and left. She then told someone right outside my door that I said "She think I'm not explaining things good enough." Okay, so that just proves my point further that you are not a very good listener. What happened to patient confidentiality? To come out of my room and repeat what I DID NOT say in the hallway allows other patients to hear what happened during my appointment. I'm not an expert, but I feel that there was definitely a breach of doctor/patient confidentiality. I will more than likely file a complaint with the Texas Medical Board just for the sole reason of the unprofessionalism.
Take my advice or leave it, avoid this office. read more
