Just no! Please go somewhere else. Multiple issues!
I got drawn to the fact that this doctor has a history of running marathons himself and as a marathoner and triathlete myself, I sought after a podiatrist that would understand my concerns and not tell me to stop running. I was having right foot pain after a marathon and was concern going into running a second marathon 5 weeks later.
First indicator I should have ran.. Or hobbled on out.. Was waiting in the waiting room for TWO hours. Do NOT tell me to come in at 9am and not call me back until 11am.
I went in and basically was told the only way to fix my pain was to buy custom insoles that would form to my feet. He pitched it and I was so desperate for an answer I bought in. Mistake 1! I should have gotten a second opinion. You are required to pay in full, up front $500 for the insoles. Dr. Ross was made FULL aware that I was committing to these because I needed a fix for the marathon 5 weeks away. I was told by the doctor that the insoles would only take 3-4 weeks tops and that I'd have them in plenty of time for the race.
Fast forward 5 weeks, marathon week... Pain is gone, no insoles. I got a call two days before the marathon from the office wanting to schedule an appointment to pick up my insoles. I was LIVID at this point because now they are worthless for what I was trying to accomplish. Dr. Ross' response to me is, "it's okay because this won't be the last time you run". Correct but I made the game time decision to waste $500 with the understanding that it would impact my immediate future. In hindsight, I should have gotten a second opinion. I ran the marathon without problems.
Finally went to pick up the insoles, bought new neutral shoes... Hate the insoles. The my don't fit the shoe size and my toe slides off of them and hits the lip of the insole. Not to mention this is the first time I've ever developed blisters while running.
The other HUGE issue with this place. They submit your claim to your insurance. I got notice from my insurance in JANUARY they had covered at least half. After at call after call and message after message and nagging, I finally got my check from them at the beginning of APRIL.
End of story. Don't go here.. From one athlete to another. read more
