I also have a difficult time staying focused, and they are good at keeping me engaged in whatever I'm working on. Brittany tutored me from 7th grade through the end of high school, and has even helped me with some of my college coursework. In middle school, I was a year behind in math, and she helped me catch up by tutoring me in Pre-Algebra over the summer before 8th grade. With her help, I passed a placement test that allowed me to take Algebra as an 8th grader. Brittany then helped me prepare for the ISEE in 8th grade, which got me into my top choice school, Head-Royce. When I started at Head-Royce in 9th grade, my classes were much harder than at my previous school, Oakland School for the Arts. Brittany helped me transition more easily to taking rigorous college-prep courses. She helped me with English and history throughout high school, including APUSH. She was also my SAT tutor and helped me with college application essays. Ben helped me with math during high school, and the math section of the SAT, and substituted for Brittany when she travelled to Guatemala. Unfortunately, they don't tutor high school science, so I had to get another tutor for Chemistry. Initially, I had my doubts about the live online class format - it sounded like it would be dry and…read morenot as engaging. Then, I read some reviews and decided to take a class with Ethan/Veritas -- one of the best decisions I've ever made! The software used for the online classes is actually surprisingly good - in addition to great video quality and the ability to submit answers to problems in class, the chat function allows you to ask questions without feeling like you're bothering everyone (and you're able to have a bit of fun/humor with it). But what really makes the class amazing is Ethan - he is hands-down the best test teacher I've ever had. - He really knows his stuff. Not only did he score very highly on the test himself, but he's been teaching the class for a while and can even speak to overall patterns he's seen with all the students he's worked with over the years. He really makes the most of class time so you never feel like you've wasted time. -He's patient. Ethan and his TA, Chris, were always extremely helpful both in class and responding to emails. They proactively and privately check in with you to see how you're doing and see if there are any gaps they can help you with. -He's got all the tricks. Ethan really has a trick for every single type of problem, whether it's verbal or quant. Veritas already has a great methodology for each problem type that comes in the book set, but Ethan has even more materials that he developed himself to help you with things like pacing (uber important), strategy, and memorizing special cases. -He's funny - it really helps! I found myself cracking up a couple of times during the actual GMAT thinking back to a couple of the pop culture references and jokes Ethan and our class had together. I ended up increasing my score by nearly 100 after the class. I highly recommend taking the Veritas class with Ethan if you can.

She was very helpful and went over several details of the course and what I was getting when I signed up. Additionally, she provided me with a great example of how the live online course format worked in order to prepare me for the experience of using it for my course. After I registered and paid for the first of three payments, I got a box from Veritas in the mail that included 12 course books, an essential guide to some of the top MBA programs, and a dry erase packet and pen that mimics what you'll get on test day. You also get instant access to your online student portal after you register. To be honest, Veritas gives you so many resources that it's initially overwhelming. They do a great job of giving you first steps that helps you work through the student portal and the books systematically. This is mostly given to you in the first of the course books. With these learnings, it becomes very easy to use the online portal effectively. Chris was truly a wonderful instructor. I don't know how he does it but it really feels like he gets to know his students throughout the course. He gets really good at letting each of us know what we were probably thinking when we selected an incorrect answer. It's creepy but in a good way... although still creepy enough that we talked about it class. How does he know?! He was great at entertaining us through our lessons with stories about his past students and experiences as a GMAT instructors. Our incentive to do well during class was a $10 Amazon gift card. You'd think it was small enough not to matter but everyone in class is trying to get a 700+ GMAT score and get into B-school which means they're all incredibly competitive. Overall, Veritas Prep gave me the instruction and structure I was missing in my GMAT prep. The curriculum doesn't offer any shortcuts. It's meant to give you the tools you need to understand concepts and strategies at a deeper level. After two weeks of practicing post-class, I can see the difference in my thought process with practice problems. I highly recommend not only Veritas Prep but any course with Chris Kane!

As a human organization, when problem occurred, they will step up and try to resolve it or let the parent inform what is the alternative. In this case, Smart Kids has just expanded to Antioch area and did not have that many students sign up, thus they need only one tutor to care for all the kids. However, the tutor assigned to the family was not performing well (late for appointment, etc.) and quit in the middle of school year (it is a rare situation in Smart Kids), and it took too long to find a replacement in the middle of school year. Smart Kids have informed the parent and school district to find their 2nd choice provider. We apology to the parent and learned the lesson. in the last 10 years, there are many more parent recommendations. However, we are still not perfect and will strive to help more students in Antioch next time.

This small program focuses on the artistic development of the individual and how they can use art to work in the community. Graduates often work as teachers, healers, open private businesses or continue on to their MFA with JFKU. The Gallery often hosts amazing work from MFA candidates, faculty and students and is well worth the visit.

The program here, under Nicole Michna, at the SF Day School is the younger version of the SB at University High School. Its 15 teachers teach a variety of subjects during the summer to motivate and encourage outstanding students to push their education further in academic enrichment. They do an excellent job during the summer with fun education programs as if it were a regular school day. This is not babysitting. It's an intense experience for kids who work hard and play hard. They also have tutoring during the year.
