We met Peadar since he was one of our officiant options for our micro wedding at Calistoga Ranch. I couldn't tell from reviews and websites who to pick but after hearing how much people love Peadar (and the fact that my future hubby actually had a slight preference for him and he usually has no opinions on these things), we decided to go with him even though my instinct is to typically hire the female options! I'm so glad that Russ and I picked Your Ceremony Matters because I can't imagine our big day without Peadar and Margarita now. Peadar is so amazing, he's basically like family to us now. He had amazing ceremony reading options and was super flexible in letting us have more than just one when we couldn't decide. He also encouraged us to have our family participate, which was really great. We also didn't have a pre-ceremony consult as part of our package but Peadar made sure to talk with us in advance over the phone (FaceTime, even!) so that we could get to know each other and on the day of, I felt like we already knew him, which really meant a lot! We contracted Paedar Dalton for a wedding in Napa. Due to a series of events beyond our control as in the pandemic and fires, we were unable to have the wedding. They were difficult to deal ,and then refunding only 1/2 of our deposit when ALL we did is contract with them. They did not engage in our wedding and their was zero reason to keep a deposit. We have hired another officiant and they could not believe an officiant would keep a deposit when clearly we did not choose to cancel, the event was left without a venue due to fire. They had several months to recover and replace our date. This took money from the wedding budget in hiring an officiant that will actually officiate the wedding. Very unethical to say the least and not expected from someone of faith. read more

Reverend Peadar (pronounced like Peter) Dalton of Your Ceremony Matters is amazing. We stole him from a friends wedding, really. We saw him officiate at their wedding and got his contact info, several years later, he performed our ceremony. Peadar is technically non-demoninational, which means if you are like us and may be spiritual, but not of one particular religion and want a ceremony about the two of you as a couple and your love, and NOT about baby jesus, then he can do that. He is a good Irish Catholic so should you want the above he can do that too. He really listens to what each couple wants and then does it. I guess it helps that he's also a therapist! In selecting Peadar we first filled out a lot of forms about each other and our families. Then closer to the wedding we had a call to go over those forms. Once on track and he had a basic idea of where we want to go with our ceremony we met with him in person. He came to where we were staying in Napa (VERY accomodating). He listened perfectly to what we wanted and in practicing what he was thinking of doing, he moved me to tears! At the ceremony he was professional and arrived on time and knew who everyone was. He set the tone of the whole thing, making it very very moving and powerful, yet light (he made jokes here and there). JUST what we wanted. He moved everything along and kept it short as we'd asked. He also made sure to have our best man and woman sign the marriage license as the witnesses, mailing it off to the courthouse the next day. I highly recommend Peadar if you want a ceremony no one will ever forget. My religious family members, my agnostic pals, and many of our loved ones of all faiths were truly impressed. From the very beginning of our relationship with Paedar, it was clear that his priorities and values aligned with our own. His goal wasn't simply to marry us. We started working with Rev Dalton in September 2013 in preparation for our recent marriage in August 2014. He was delighted to work with us and accommodate us while we were living in Los Angeles by doing our consultation by phone/skype and subsequent emailing there after. When we moved to the Bay Area we were excited to meet Rev Dalton in person at his Sonoma office. It was that day that we were able to share what would be important to us during our ceremony ie, recognizing our parents, acknowledging guests who traveled from near and far, including a grandparent as a reader. My only regret is that I didn't write this review earlier. My husband and I got married in June of 2009 and from the initial phone call to the in person meeting, Rev. Dalton was warm, approachable, kind and attentive and authentic. He was incredibly caring and went to great efforts to get to know my wife and I leading up to the ceremony. He met with us multiple times in the months prior to the wedding (in person and via skype) to talk about the wedding, become familiar with the guests, family members, wedding party members, etc, and really get a clear sense of how we wanted the ceremony to feel. When my wife and I were planning our wedding, we had decided that the specialness of the ceremony was the most important part, so choosing our officiant was a big decision. We had been trying to make some of our wedding planning decisions in a logical, businesslike way, but when we met Reverend Dalton, our hearts melted, and we knew he should be the one to officiate. My husband and I decided to go for a "wedding package" at the Harvest Inn in Napa. We do not have a family minister/rabbi/etc. so Harvest Inn recommended and booked Peadar Dalton for us. We were not able to meet or speak with Rev. Dalton until about 20 minutes before the ceremony. Incredibly, Rev. Dalton's speech was touching, personal, charming and he incorporated everything we asked him to - as well as left out anything we did not want included in our non-religious ceremony. This is it! If you are looking for an officiant who is welcoming, kind, articulate, and inviting - then Peader is your man. We were married 2 weeks ago at a winery in Napa in front of 170 people. Peader is calm and confident in front of a crowd. his Irish accent also lends charm and uniqueness to the ceremony (We are both of Irish decent and our families appreciated a bit of heritage incorporated). Peader can be as spiritual and religious as you want. Both of us are Catholic, but did not want too much religion brought into the ceremony. He paid attention to our families and brought them into the ceremony for a blessing of the rings (which was a pleasant surprise to them), had the maid, matron of honor and bet man bless the rings as well, acknowledged our guests who traveled from each state and country, and also asked for everyone to say a prayer for us and our future together. With so many great ideas of what to add to add to your wedding ceremony, we chose a wine ceremony since we were at a winery. Peader spoke about our individual wines and how they represented our individuality - then we blended them together making a rose wine and Peader spoke about our new lives together as a family. Everyone at the reception asked where we found him and gave us many compliments on his officiating. He is wonderful and I highly, highly recommend Rev. Peader Dalton. read more

Reverend Dalton is a master at this. He is clearly at ease in front of crowds, and not afraid to deliver a ceremony without reading it all from a piece of paper. In fact, much of it appeared to be extemporaneous, so if you are looking for someone who will write out a detailed script and revise it over and over with you months in advance, he may not be the officiant for you. But he definitely charmed everyone with his keen insights about marriage and life. He did include a bit more religious content in the ceremony than I expected, and he did omit a couple of items that we'd agreed on in advance for the ceremony, like the mentioning of (absent) grandparents. There were things that he included that we weren't expecting, like having a baby (niece) bless the married couple at the end, a nice touch! Overall, this was a great experience for us; judging from the other glowing reviews, he may have had an off day with us in forgetting those things, but what he did say was definitely well done. read more

From the first phone call and sit-down in his office in Sonoma, to the pre-ceremony smooth-over Skype conference, and finally the day-of-days, his comfort and confident tone and ability and willingness to tailor each ceremony to the couple's preference, made Reverend Dalton an unquestionable candidate for the task. There are so many wonderful things to say about Reverend Peadar Dalton! Mostly is is that he is a wholeheartedly good person that wants to make your wedding ceremony as beautiful and meaningful as possible. From the very start we enjoyed working with Rev. Dalton, he just makes you feel special. There is nothing about him that seems like just another wedding vendor. We spoke with him on the phone a couple times and met him in his office twice. The original in person meeting was about 9 months before our wedding and it was so that we could meet him. Then the second meeting was two weeks before our wedding so that we could go over the specifics and make sure we had the timeline, readings, vows, etc chosen. On my wedding day he called me, wished me well and told me that I was going to have a beautiful and special wedding. Then he met us there and lead the most beautiful wedding ceremony that I could have ever imagined for us. Some of the things he said were not scripted, so it kept it feeling fresh and it was nice to have his kind words about how he was genuinely feeling in that moment. After being a wedding planner in Wine Country for over 100 weddings, I left the area, but I returned 5 years later to get married myself. When it came to officiants, there was only one person I wanted to marry us, and that was Peadar. In all the wedding ceremonies he officiated with me over the years, he made every one unique.
