Daniel is very responsive and overall logistics were perfect. Katelyn, the photographer, was the best vendor at our wedding. Photos aside, which were amazing, Katelyn provided the most calming presence at the wedding. She was with me (the bride) every part of the day and went above and beyond to ensure that I got the shots that I needed but didn't spend too long taking photos because I wanted to enjoy my day. When we first found Daniel Neal's website what struck us was his artistry, eye for detail and candid shots. Interviewing him, we appreciated that he was easy going, professional and just fun to talk to. When we hired him as our photographer and did our engagement photos, Daniel put us at ease--we went from stiff and awkward to relaxed. Working with Daniel was so much fun. He shot our engagement / maternity photographs and he made it so easy and comfortable (despite the fact that one of us had always been a little camera shy). Our photos from Muir Woods and Muir Beach were absolutely STUNNING. I really appreciated Daniel's editing. They came out appearing very natural and not "over-edited." I couldn't wait to hang them up in the nursery! The turn-around for the ~150 photos from this shoot was impressively fast (less than 2 weeks!!). A few days before our big day, we were sad to hear that Daniel himself would not be able to shoot the wedding because he had tested positive for COVID. However, he was exceptionally professional and had his assistant Katelyn fill in for him. Katelyn was outstanding on the day-of. She arrived early, seamlessly integrated herself into the bridal party as we were getting ready and got some adorable shots of our dogs in their wedding get-up. She staged our first look and couples photographs at China Camp State Park really really well (it was obvious she had scoped out the place beforehand). The family and bridal party photos were shot with such impressive efficiency that we finished ahead of schedule and were able to get back home and take a few more photographs with us, our daughter and our dogs--which ended up being our favorites from the sneak peak. She made sure to get every last picture on my carefully curated "shots list" and I so appreciated this. I was originally going to wait until my husband and I got our wedding pictures, but we love love love Katelyn. We seriously cannot get over how great she was! She was so easy going, excellent energy, so personable, incredibly sweet, and the list goes on and on. All our nervousness of being photographed, after our ceremony when it was just the two of us, vanished rather quickly. Katelyn really made my husband and I feel comfortable to be in front of the camera. When we were searching for a photographer, the most important thing was to find someone who had the talent to capture moments in their most authentic form. Daniel surpassed any expectations we had and you can really see that he has a passion for the work. When we first called to schedule an appointment, he responded quickly and arranged a "get to know you" session over the phone. It felt like talking to a friend and he really took an interest in our story and what our vision was for our wedding. The basic wedding package includes a complimentary engagement shoot that helps "warm" you up for the day of. We were worried that it would be awkward, but he gently guided us and made pleasant and natural conversation throughout the shoot. Daniel is also extremely accommodating. We were planning our wedding from afar and our engagement shoot times had to be cancelled twice. Luckily, he managed to squeeze us in on the Wednesday BEFORE our wedding to ensure that we felt comfortable in front of the camera on the day of. On top of that, he gave us the edited photos TWO days later so we could see how they turned out to calm down any nerves. We were SO grateful and he did this despite battling a cold. We were so lucky to have stumbled across Daniel in our search for a photographer for our wedding. Amidst all of the early vendor interviews and proposal phone calls, my call with Daniel stood out as a conversation that I felt comfortable in and enjoyed. We weren't planning on doing engagement photos but I appreciated Daniel's logic (and the fact that he includes them in all of his wedding packages) that they are helpful in terms of learning (and leaning into) the awkwardness of posing and having the opportunity to meet and work with him in person. Daniel is absolutely amazing to work with!!! From the beginning he was professional and attentive to detail. We decided to meet up in person for the initial meeting, which I appreciated being able to meet face-to-face before we booked him. Not only does he do incredible work, but he is also so nice and personable! For our engagement shoot, both my husband and I did not know what to expect as we had never been photographed kissing together, but Daniel made us feel natural and comfortable right off the bat. We were able to include our pup into our shoot as well, which is a plus for us animal lovers! Communication throughout the months of planning was great as well, he would always respond in a timely fashion. Everything went so smoothly the day of and that was a huge part due to his timeline and schedule. Since this was my first rodeo, I appreciated all the guidance he gave us for the day of. The pictures are just absolutely incredible, and we have had SO many guests/ family members say how beautiful the images are. Even a family member who is a photographer! Daniel gave us a handful of "sneak peak" images the next morning which was pretty amazing to be able to have those so quickly! The turn around for all of the images felt like an eternity (obviously because we couldn't wait to see them) but in actuality, he sent us the link for us to view and download the images within a month. We found Daniel on an article recommending wedding photographer. I was not sure if Daniel can give us the photos as awesome as his portfolio photos. But found out he did great job and he keeps trying to catch the moments on our big day. He is very responsible and trying to take as many as possible, also Daniel takes clients advice to ask if any specific photos we want to take. Our wedding was at city hall, with 40 people in mayors balcony. Daniel did great in taking group photo and couple and family portraits. I think on my wedding reception, I will also go with Daniel!
