This location has many brand options and is convenient. Hours are great and products reasonably priced

    Bear’s Compounding Pharmacy

My pharmacy doesn't have the option to mix or make compound medicine, and this is the reason I had…read moreto have my doctor send my new compound prescription to Bear's Compound Pharmacy. The location is great. Limited parking spaces since it is in the middle of downtown Georgetown. "The square" My insurance didn't cover my medicine, and so I agreed to pay $160 which was supposed to include four (2.5ml) injections. Which means would give myself a shot once a week. The medicine didn't come with syringes, but I bought a bag of 10 syringes for $1.00 from them with my prescription. No issues with my first three injections. I went to take my fourth injection and nothing would come out of the bottom no matter what I did. I called the store to ask what I could do since I paid $160 for four injections and only was able to give myself 3. Young lady told me really not much that can be done since I had already left the store with the medicine. I told her I would be happy to bring in the bottle and show that there was still some medicine in the bottle but I wasn't able to get it out for whatever reason. She told me I could come in the following week and have someone take a look at the bottle but there wasn't nothing that could be or would be done. I was frustrated, irritated by the amount of money I paid and feel I wasted money since I didn't even receive the 4 shots I was expected to for $160. Because of the lack of empathy and the money wasted I do not recommend using this pharmacy. I plan to chat with my doctor and ask for refills to be sent to a different compound pharmacy.

I wanted to support local business, but my experiences have been consistently negative. On a…read moreprevious occasion, I was told delivery was unavailable because the owner--who is also the driver--was pregnant. While I am sympathetic to personal circumstances, a professional pharmacy should have a backup plan or hire additional staff to maintain promised services. Most recently, I was told on a Thursday that delivery wasn't available until the following week. Despite being fully prepaid and waiting 24 hours to have to pick it up myself while unwell, the prescription hadn't even been started when I arrived. After being made to wait, I was then informed the order was short and I would need to return a second time the following week. To top it off, when the medication was finally ready, I was handed four separate containers without a bag. I actually had to ask for one, as I wasn't sure if I was expected to just shove them into my pockets. What makes this more frustrating is that there is never a line or other customers present when we go into this pharmacy/boutique/retail shop, so there is no excuse for such poor turnaround. Maybe their interest leans more on selling jewelry. If you have to wait, maybe you'll shop too. I truly don't see how they have positive reviews based on these unprofessional experiences. Between the logistical issues and the lack of professional courtesy, I can no longer recommend this pharmacy.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review but better late than never. I first saw…read moreDr. L about 12 years ago. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and had been dealing with it (and an unsympathetic Gastro Dr.) for about 10 years before I was referred to Dr. L. I was in lots of pain and was malnourished. Dr. L ran several blood tests on me and gave me very detailed and thoughtful information for putting my health back on track. After an improved diet, amazing supplements and a sympathetic ear, I managed to get my health back. I go back to Dr. L periodically to deal with other challenges that come with age and I most certainly send my athletic kids to him so they can optimize their health and nutrition for the benefits of their sports. I will always be grateful to Dr. L and I will always recommend him first when it comes to people looking to take full responsibility for their health and wellness. This man is one of the smartest people I know. He has a heart of gold as well. I simply cannot say enough.

He has 4.5 stars in…read moreother reviews under his own name but I didn't know to look for him there, the supplements that I use have N4H on the label so I have added this to Yelp. More detail on Dr. Leupnitz can be found by doing a Yelp Search for him (good luck with the spelling!). I am incredibly cynical about supplements. I have found them to be expensive and I rarely find any value from them. That is until I met Dr. Leupnitz (he has a Ph.D., he's not an MD and he doesn't pretend to be). I have had a frustrating number of illnesses over the past year and a half that have had a major impact on my ability to have a normal, active life. I've been seeing an internist for several years and he had been treating me symptomatically while we tried to figure out what was going on. In addition to weird things with my health, my energy levels had dropped significantly which is a huge change for me as I've always been hyperactive and a little ADHD. I went from going at 90 miles an hour to about 2 miles an hour with no answers in sight. Based on my wife's continual prodding (she has taken my daughter to N4H with good results for quite awhile) I decided to bite the bullet and went to see him. I brought blood work and talked through the issues that I was having. He recommended some supplements (which I purchased) but during the interview he told me that my symptoms didn't seem like just illness and asked if I had ever been tested for Epstein Barr. I told him that I didn't know but I would ask my doctor, who I was seeing the next day. On my visit I asked the doctor and he said that I hadn't been tested but that it was a good idea and he would also run a Mono test since it was on the same panel. I told him that I had mono when I was 16 but he said that he wouldn't hurt to test again even though it wasn't likely to be active since I'd already had it. Turns out Leupnitz was correct and I did have a reactivation of the mono virus. Apparently it'srare but not uncommon. Once the doctors understood the issue the treatment plan changed and I've been progressively getting better. I think even stronger now with the N4H supplements that I'm taking. I did have a concern that the supplements that he was recommending were potentially overpriced so I went online to try to buy some of them via the web. It turned out that his pricing was equal to or cheaper than many of the things that I looked at online or at the vitamin store so I've decided to stick with purchasing them through N4H. The only negative about seeing Dr. Leupnitz for consultations is that he takes a lot of time with you (good thing) but it means that he is frequently well behind schedule (not a good thing). While it's a major inconvenience, he is so good at addressing the nutrition and health issues that he still merits 5 stars!
