Shoplifting is rife (we see at least two groups of people shoplifting every time we go here) and, for safety reasons, the staff can't really do anything about it, plus there is zero security, which they REALLY need (although the police regularly apprehend folks here, it sounds like from what staff was telling us). So yes, staff was a bit overly chatty about the dire conditions but who can blame them? This location really needs an overhaul to create safer conditions for everyone. In terms of stock, yes, it's fun to shop here, and they have good sales - if you be sure to check the expiration date! We enjoyed, for instance, getting some topnotch bagels for 99 cents.

This location of Trader Joe's was relatively close to my high school classmate's home, so I stopped by quickly to take a look beforeIhad to meet up with her. They're really handy as my niece has been using them to bring her leftover dinner to work for lunch the next day! She said that these mini coolers are a good size! I got some for her father, sister, and mother! Inside, this Trader Joe's was clean, spacious, organized, and well-lit. I got some snacks, greeting cards, and some yellow nectarines! I started looking for the store mascot and asked the cashier if these plushies were the ones. I showed her a photo on my phone, spotted the correct mascot, and took a photo when a female worker approached me and told me that "no photos were allowed in the store". I thought that she was joking until I looked at her facial expression. She was serious. Shucks. Oh, well... it's over. We got our prize (a lollipop) and took a photo outside of the store. We still went back the next day for more snacks and greeting cards because I had a bit more space in my luggage... LOL!

She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. When he pulled into the parking lot, I knew exactly why I had missed it previously. Not only is the parking lot pretty narrow and single aisled, the concrete-blocked storefront itself is not obvious. I would assume it would be maybe the corporate office for the postal service or something similar. But definitely not a grocery store. With that being said, the storefront was clearly open and was easy to access. They had carts that were also easy to access, the aisles were clean and organized, although it was a 50/50 shot on value. It really depends on what you're looking for. But for the most part, protein sold in bulk was a great deal, along with other bulk goods like beans, pasta, grains, etc. I didn't really see that great of a discount on smaller individual items like spices or beverages, or even produce. Checking out was simple. Everyone made a single file line down and waited to cashiers to become available. Since the single file goes down the store to the right, it was difficult to see the cashiers. We waited about 10 minutes to be checked out. I'm not entirely sure if mostly working with other food service vendors and workers changes anything for the cashiers here, but I felt that it did lend a bit of a detached air from what you and I are used to in a more public grocery store. The employees, although they acknowledged everyone, were did not appear to manage the line (i.e.: calling out when a checker is ready, instead waiting for the customer to approach them), welcome or greet customers. They were having a few side conversations that halted traffic for a bit, but we have just arrived in time for a shift change, breaks, or something else similar. All in all, I felt the opportunity cost of all things given was enough to definitely return in the future. We made out like a bat out of hell with the bulk frozen ahi tuna and we'll be eating delicious dinner for the next couple weeks!
