At the reception, I proceeded to stain it with: stuffed mushroom, shrimp and grits, red wine, bourbon and coke, and wedding cake. No lie. It was a crowded wedding, and people kept running into me! Not that I'm clumsy or anything...anyway...I thought the dress was doomed, but took it in to Hillsboro Cleaners as a formality I guess. I picked it up, and THERE WERE NO STAINS TO BE SEEN. Today, I had the only issue I have had with them - a dress was destroyed in the drycleaning process because there was a tag left on. This particular jacket went through a rough time before it hit the cleaners so I was not even hopeful it could be saved. I told my husband to just buy a new one. He has an emotional attachment to it so it wasn't an option apparently (is this normal in guys?, asking for a friend) so there he was dropping it off. You can see the pattern from the inside of the dryer in the attached photos. Had to throw away a fleece and a pair of socks because it completely melted through them. Talked to the manager and he said they're not responsible and there was nothing they could do. They didn't even want to refund the money for the usage. Zero customer service.
