I finally made it to Mujka Korean BBQ and it definitely lived up to the hype!…read more First off, this is not one of those all-you-can-eat buffet-style BBQ spots. You choose meat combos that fit your group size, which makes the experience feel more intentional and higher quality. The portions were generous, fresh, and perfect for grilling right at the table. The banchan (side dishes) were served to us, and whenever we needed more, our server brought them straight to the table -- no getting up to serve yourself. That level of service really stood out. You also have the option to order from the main menu if you don't prefer cooking on your own, which makes it great for everyone at the table. The variety of soups was another plus -- served family-style and perfect for 2-3 people to share. And the best part? If you have leftovers, you can take them to go -- something you don't get with buffet-style places. I was especially happy that our combo came with a big beef bone. I got to bring it home for my dog, and she was beyond excited! Shoutout to our server, Tae, who was superb and provided excellent customer service. Attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Service like that truly elevates the entire experience. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation in Puyallup!

The food is ok but many of the meats were tough and overly fatty. Not a good experience. The place is clean and comfortable but it's the overall experience that's important. So it's a 3 for me.

They don't serve alcohol so don't try to order a beer (which would have gone good with the meat.) It is a little hard to find so use a GPS. There is only one entrance into the little mall and it is around the corner. When we walked in, I thought, "Oh no, it's just a take-out," but there is a dining room off to the left. We thought it was interesting that there were firemen there, ordering take-out smoked meat, but that just meant that the place had good food. The service was very good, even on a Friday night. I had ribs and brisket, and my husband had ribs. The portions were very large. The brisket was tender and smoky. There was BBQ sauce on the table but the meat did not need anything. My husband thought the ribs were just a little chewy. When we BBQ ribs we like the meat to be so tender it just falls off the bone. The smoky meat, however, was wonderful. Don't be grossed out but I took the bones home to make soup stock, and they are boiling in chicken stock right now. Dinner was not cheap. For two entrees of meat including 2 sides, 2 corn bread muffins, an iced tea, coffee and tip, dinner was $100 for two people. This, of course, did not include any alcohol. Would we go here again? Maybe. We can do smoked ribs as well as they can but we would not try to do brisket.

Before I came, I looked at the reviews and there seems to be a lot of different mixed messages. For one if you're a regular customer and come in often, the employees seem to treat you much better, and when it comes to food they seem to have the better pick of food from the kitchen. As I read through one review they frequently come, they said that they are definitely changes in the service and the quality of food just within the last year or two. Given more history, I did hear that after Covid the restaurant lost certain companies that they used to get their food from which could explain the downgrade in the quality. I only took one picture because in all honesty it really wasn't worth me taking others and I don't understand why a side salad literally a third of the plate was eight dollars. The cucumbers had gone bad and some of the lettuce had even been wilted. The salad definitely was not worth eight dollars. I have had side salads with fresh ingredients for the same price at a dive bar and this is supposed to be a very well-known kind of upscale barbecue place that's in a well-known community that supports their business. The server was also mediocre and I honestly don't believe it would've been better but we were with a well-known customer, the employees seem to be a little bit more friendly, but definitely did not go out of way to make sure my meals were good. The macaroni and cheese taste very bland. There was not a whole lot of seasoning to it. Some of my brisket was dry and some of it was cold so that makes me wonder how long it's been sitting. The brisket was also kind of a seasoned, but not very well. The Tri-tip also was dry which I don't recommend getting. I did enjoy the baked beans and potato salad, but be aware because some cups of beans have mainly onions and bell pepper with barely any beans and some of the cups have no onions and peppers with just all beans. I have had a lot of barbecue in this state being a native of Kansas City and relatives from Texas. I know what good food is especially barbecue! I guess for this area it's one of the better places to go. The only other location that's nearby is Jack's barbecue which is their specialty is beef ribs, but they put literally pepper in everything so there's no flavor at all except for spicy!!!! At least at this restaurant, I'm not drinking a gallon of water because everything is so spicy like at Jack's but that's for another review. Thank you again for your support and following my review's. Has always be safe out there and I'll see you at my next bite!
