She chose to accept whichever horse they gave her, and she ended up with Gun Smoke and was extremely happy with him. I rode Stetson and for the beginner that I am, felt very comfortable with my buddy. The staff were friendly, professional and well informed. They said 4 Hearts Ranch was the best place around. I agree. My mare is very happy at 4 Hearts. She has a wonderful stall with shavings, a fan by day, and wonderful turnout in the evening (summer hours). I look forward to the winter hours. All the long term boarders are very happy. There are multiple vets and farriers that attend this facility. The staff are polite and definitely know how to care for horses. There are no flies because of excellent manure control. Most horse owners care for their horses by boarding at a top shelf facility. I count my blessings, that I was able to get into 4 Hearts Ranch. There is usually a waiting list to get in.

After 3 1/2 months, we were told she was throwing trainers and would be sold at a sale barn. We immediately went to get her, had to pay to get her released, and brought her home--only to discover multiple deep abrasions on her hindquarters. Once safely home, she was given a short workout and rode beautifully--even without a bit. We are deeply concerned that a well-trained horse was mishandled and injured while in their care, and that we had to pay to remove her from the facility and get her to safety. We would not recommend Benbrook Stables. If I could give a 0 rating I would.

It was her birthday so a great way to give her a little extra time with the horse and get acclimated for a longer ride. The short ride for the kids is only about 10 minutes (I believe it's for ages under 10) but it's reasonable priced and a great photo opportunity for the parents. On the 30 minute ride with the family, it was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Our handler held a rope to manage our little one directly behind her (and guide her horse if he became rowdy). It was just enough adventure for her, our 14 year old, and the parents. Don't forget to tip your handler!

The first time we came last year, they gave me the shortest horse because I was the shortest rider there! I rode Ziggy, and I was already attached. He's so cute-- I am a big David Bowie fan, so I have nicknamed him,"Mr. Stardust" LOL The first time we came, it had been some years since I had ridden a horse, and the same for the boyfriend. We did the easy walking trail ride-- this year we did the intermediate trotting trail and I asked to ride Ziggy again-- what can I say, I love him.. Although we were initially nervous for reservation cancellations due to the rain and being pushed back a day, they still had great communication as to whether or not we'd be able to have our trail ride. The respond via text message-- so be aware that if you call, they might not answer. The only time they DO call is when you're booking the reservation. It had been raining on and off and so they said the first time they were checking our specific trail, was when we were actually on it. We didn't get to trot as much as I wanted, but it was a little squishy in some areas. The staff is friendly and even take your photo at the end! My thing is that it is very hard to hear them talk when you're on the trail ride. It would be beneficial for them to carry a microphone or something.

Throughout the ride you will be going very slow and will be in the forest for about an hour. They charge you $1 per water bottle and certain staff have terrible attitudes.
