He has apparently sold his practice to Dr. Jessica Weber. (Her name is now on the door.) Anyhow, Jenny the lovely receptionist is still there. She greeted me with a hug. I got an appointment the same day, and only had to leave work an hour early. Dr. Weber is great. She took some X-rays to make sure the tooth was OK before referring me to an endodontist that I had seen before. We talked about another tooth I had cracked (but, ignored). She glued my crown back on, and I returned two days later for a much needed cleaning. I don't know why I waited so long. Time just escaped me. I'll miss Dr. Barnett, but l am happy he trusted the care of his patients to Dr. Weber's care.

Dr. Maarouf met with both of us and did an awesome job. We're accustomed to having a hygienist do the cleaning, not the dentist! We were also impressed that Dr. Maarouf had a helper for the entire cleaning. During my visit, Dr. Maarouf noticed one of my fillings was compromised. Yesterday, she repaired the filling. She was going to numb the area, but I talked it through with her and advised doing the filling without any numbing. Worked out great. I appreciated her demeanor and willingness to accommodate me. Only minor discomfort for a very short period of time.

When he injected the local anesthetic into my cheek, I was surprised by how gentle he was and how painless the anesthetic was. He made sure to not rush the injection so it wouldn't hurt. My other dentist was confused when she found the two teeth filled with dark gray fillings, and said they should be white. I ended up needing a root canal on one of the teeth. I travel a lot and have had many dentists. It was a dentist who said I needed oral surgery which drove me to Dr. Barnett for a second opinion. His statement: that's nonsense. Not only did he save me thousands, the surgery I was being told I needed would've permanently altered my gum line. Years later, I'm still doing fine thanks to Dr. Barnett's great care. On top of this, Dr. Barnett has a top notch staff. Specifically, his receptionist Jenny, is a world-class employee. Very responsive, nice, and provides personal attention. Dentists, like lawyers, tend not to get a great reputation. But Dr. Barnett is an all-start and I highly recommend.

I thought I cracked a tooth, called the office, requested an emergency appointment (evaluation only -no treatment) and was given an afternoon appointment. I arrived on time, had to wait in the hallway for about 15 minutes (no folding chair provided) and then was seated in the dentists chair for 30 minutes while Dr.Yi was attending to other patients. I got up,and walked out. This is not the service I expected. He has doubled up on patients in the past and it seems that the profit motive is greater than patient's care.

In office, he was quoted $3,800 for repairing a tooth, fixing a crown, and a pair of dentures ( a good not great price). Dad said OK and the final bill ended up being over $6,000, which she would not discount when my father freaked out about the bill. After the work no one in the practice called to check up on him, we haven't received any notices for even follow-up cleanings. And the bottom dentures didn't fit properly and caused pain. It took my father a year to pay off the debt from his social security. Plus the work they did isn't good -- his bottom denture doesn't fit properly and he is still experiencing tooth pain. Instead of a discount, the practice charged him nearly twice what insurance would have allowed. They just took his money and ran.
