A couple years back, I received a wonderful arrangement that came from Young Flowers and I remember the arrangement to be unique, beautiful, and very long lasting. The sender said that they were impressed with the customer service, prices, and the ease of ordering from out of state. Fast forward a couple of years....I've worked Downtown on and off for the last five years and I just happened upon this cute little shop. While it is small, it hold a treasure trove of wonderful things. There is a huge wall of cut flowers, which enable you to customize an arrangement lickety split. But what drew me in the most was their selection of potted plants, succulents/cacti, and air plants. I could have easily spent my entire lunch hour in there. Their selection of low light plants good for offices was really impressive. The prices are reasonable and their plants look super healthy. But what really, really stood out to me was the customer service. Mark and Parnell approached me with a smile and were willing to answer all of my questions and find the perfect plant I was looking for. It was pretty busy in the shop because it is the Friday before Mother's Day, but they treated me like I was the only one in there. They gift wrapped and put my plants in appropriate wrapping to survive a light rail ride. I am so impressed and am appreciative of this shop's customer service and their quality items. It was a breath of fresh air and it made my day a little better. I will be back and will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a fab shop. I have been to their new location on Stewart St. two times now and I couldn't be more pleased with their selection and their service. I had really wanted a plant for awhile and happened upon their store on a walk home one day and decided to go in and look at purchasing a plant. They were super great, helping me find a plant that would be easy to care for and would survive even if I didn't have the greenest thumb. Now a couple of months and five plants later, I returned looking for some good quality potting soil to replant my succulents into a new planter. The person who helped me was super kind and got me enough soil to replant my succulents and also helped me pick out succulents that would be complimentary to my others. I just dropped in on Young Flowers before closing to pick up a single white rose to accompany my outfit for the Teatro Zinzanni event tonight. Speaking with one of the staff, I let her know what I was planning to do (wearing the rose on/in my dress shirt pocket), and she suggested that I get a boutonniere. While these normally need to be ordered ahead of time, she offered to just make one for me on the spot. Ideally located on 3rd avenue, in the midst of downtown, it's conveniently located for pick-ups, but they also do deliveries all over Seattle up to Lynnwood and Bellevue. Mark Young, the owner, is hands down, a floral genius. He has the most interesting and intricate designs I have ever seen. His shop looks small, but the outside and inside of his shop is loaded insanely with all different types of flowers, erotic and domestic. His vases are always wrapped in leaves so you can't see the stems of the flowers, and the color schemes he puts together are phenomenal. I am always so impressed by his work. From Bouquets, to huge table centerpieces, lobby displays, get well soon/graduation/birthday flowers, he puts together beautiful, one of a kind arrangements. . His staff are always so fun to work with, friendly, and consistently putting out the most unique designs I have yet to see in Seattle. I love going down here and just telling them an idea and the colors I want in my arrangement, and then they tweak it so its even better. This couldn't make me any happier! Awesome experience again! This time, I called ahead and asked that an arrangement be made for pick-up right before they closed for the day, when I'd be on my commute home. They secure the order with a credit card, but only charge you after you see their carefully selected creation. When I arrived, :10 from closing time, everything was ready to go. They do an elaborate job with attaching water vials to the stems, a huge step up from the bag-of-water technique used by some places. The bouquet looked great and comprised a lot of very exotic varieties that you can't get anywhere else. Over a week later, the flowers still look great! But Young flowers in downtown Seattle are reasonably priced and you are greeted with a warm smile when you enter. On this particular trip I was coming in on my lunch break, which is why i came to Young's instead of going to the market. It was my 2 year anniversary and I just wanted to get something to show my fiancee how much she meant to me. I wnet into the store out of breath from running and explained what I needed. Everyone of the staff in the store helped me all at once. I picked a beautiful Orchid. I asked for two priced 8.50$ each totalling 18$ before tax. Now usually most places would have been like ok 2 it is! But not at Young's the lady immediately before the guy could grab two said " that is a beautiful choice and one stem looks great with some leaves." SO she saved me 9$ and I was so grateful. I mean who is not a on a budget these days? She wrapped it up so nicely and it looked like a full bouquet! They all wished me a happy anniversary and I was in and out in 6 mins top! great service!
