Yotvata has good food, but some of the taste is a bit lacking. Read all about it on my blog, http://www.eliesfoodies.com/yotvata/

All I have to say is wow. We came at motsei Shabbat so I didn't expect much but they exceeded…read moreexpectations! We sat outside, it wasn't a freezing day so the space heaters were more than enough. We ordered some fritti-- the Jewish artichoke and sea bass balls. Jewish artichoke is always a must, the sea bass balls we're interesting and reminded me of childhood, though I wish it came with some lemon to cut through the oil. Then we ordered a pasta and a steak to split. The steak came out first, understandable they were insanely busy. The Chianina is to die for. The tenderness was perfect, the fattiness added a depth of flavor and the cooking temperature was excellent. Honestly I preferred eating the pasta last as I was able to real enjoy the meat. The zucchini and dried meat pasta was delicious-- you can't beat a handmade spaghetti. Very lightly sauced with scattered cherry tomatoes. I also ordered a glass of red Italian it was actually really complimentary to the meal and had a nice amount of smoke and depth in flavor. Perfect meal and service was great! Would 1000000% be back again next trip!

We started w. a nice Sauvignon Blanc Wine... Then to our delight came two baskets of Fried Roman Artichokes...delectably addictive.... Then presented to us like Royalty, we were served a Platter of Dips..from Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Pickles, Harissa, Egg Salad, Eggplant, Tahini and Fresh made Pita Bread. A very satisfying respite after touring the Museo Ebraico di Roma. promise you'll be happy, And even if you're not, There's more to life than that--- Don't ask me what...:) Shalom, Avram Tevye Jr.

Nestled in Little Jerusalem you wont find a better spot to sit down and enjoy a wonderful meal,…read moreglass of wine or Aperol spritz. The staff are super attentive and make sure your experience is excellent feom start to finish. Our First visit was at lunch my wife ordred the Grilled Beed Steak medium with potatoes, I ordred the Tonnarelli Cheese & Pepper with Artichoke... All I can say "Hevean on our Plates" both our dishes were beyond flavor profiles the food was so good i made sure my last meal in Rome was the Tonnarelli Cheese & Pepper with Artichoke I did add for a starter the Artichoke Carpachio which sent my last meal to God Status!!! The wife ordered a pizza that had the crispy thin crust and she was to engulfed in her own flavor adventure. Both the waiters were awesome and the owners better keep them happy because they were definitely a large reason why we came back... There recommendations are the reason why this went from a lunch stop to a return visit leaving a mark on my life that was truly a wonderful food experience!!! Make this a stop while in Rome you wont regret it!!!!

Listen, if you are in Rome for almost a week, there are more than enough restaurants to try, right?…read more Why go back to the same place twice? We went to this place twice - excellent food, exceptional service, and a scarcity of tourists. This inviting establishment specializes in both traditional Roman cuisine as well as "Jewish ghetto" fare. For starters we had Jewish-style fried artichokes and fried anchovies. They really stood out as some of the best foods we tried all week. I had the Bucatini Amatriciana one night and the Carbonara the next. Both were superb. I had plenty of pasta carbonara on this trip, and this one was the best, hands down. My lady had the Artichoke Lasagne one night - this one of a kind meatless entree came layered with a heavenly bechamel sauce. On our second trip she had the Cacio E Pepe with artichokes, which she raved about before devouring it. The cheesecakes here are better than anything you will find on this side of the pond. They were warm and made more like a real cake than some creamy overly sweet mess. The house wine here is amazing- both red and white. The staff will happily sell you bottles to go, as well. Our server on our second night treated us to a round of limoncello and bade us return. That we will.

La Reginella is a new addition to the Jewish Ghetto. Being one of the newest kosher restaurants in…read morethe area, it didn't have as large of a crowd as some of the other places, but that is also why we chose it --Ba'Ghetto seems to have a monopoly on all the block and we wanted to support the underdog. We also wanted authentic Italian food, not the steak and potatoes that Jews are used to eating. We can get plenty of kosher steak and potatoes in New York but what we can't get is authentic kosher Italian food, so that was our goal of going to La Reginella. 5/5 -Tagliere di Affetteri (mixed cured meats) -We loved this dish because we can't get cured meats anywhere else. The presentation was also lovely. Our favorite meats were the dried beef and salami. The smoked turkey and the pastrami were good but not necessary the Italian meats that we were craving. 4/5 -Carciofe alla giudia (fried artichoke Jewish style) - I knew this was going to be overrated but when in Rome...It was good but greasy. I would have preferred it to be a little less deep fried. It was similar to potato chips. Pretty to look at but we got it mainly for the experience rather than the gastronomic qualities. 2/5 - The bread -Skip the bread and order more of the good stuff. There was no oil or anything to dip the bread in. The bread was nothing special. Get the bread in France. Skip the bread in Italy. 5/5 - Spaghetto alla carbonara di carciafi e carne secca (Spaghetti with egg sauce, artichokes, dried beef, and black pepper). When we asked our hotel concierge what the Roman specialties were were, he said: artichokes, carbonara, squash/ pumpkin blossoms, and pork cheek (which we obviously can't eat). With the dried beef made to imitate pork cheek, this dish included 3 of the 4 foods that Rome is known for and we really loved the flavor of it. The spaghetti was so rich and creamy just from the egg, it really tasted like a dairy-cream sauce. The dried beef added complexity and even more flavor to the dish. Everything about this dish was perfect. 4/5 -Wine - I can't recall what we got but it was a local wine. There's something romantic about drinking red wine in Italy with a platter of cured meats. 5/5 -Service -The waiters were really attentive and nice. We didn't have to wait long for anything. The restaurant itself was very large. We had no idea how big it was in the inside until we went inside to use the restrooms. It's like a maze! It can probably host parties.
