My mother took me to this restaurant for what she hoped to be a great way to celebrate our first night in Rome. It was the worst dining experience we've ever had, in fact we couldn't even sit and finish it.
The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived for our reservation. The first issue was when my mother noticed an insect in her glass of water. We respectfully called the waiter over and asked for a new glass. After much discussion he brought over an empty class without even apologizing or offering to refill the water that we had paid for. I ordered the chicken skewers with salad and my mother ordered the pasta carbonara. When the food arrived, it was certainly not worth the 14 Euro for each dish. My chicken was rubbery, tasteless and my salad was drenched in oil. My mother's pasta was just terrible. I even tried a bite and I had to spit it out, it was that bad. There was no taste to the food, it was just awful. We actually couldn't finish our meal, I approached the counter and paid for our meal... 29 euros, they even charged us for the bread which is typically free at most restaurants.
The staff, owner and chef clearly didn't care to try and make this situation right. The chef himself who was eating his own pasta meal in the restaurant (which is just unprofessional in my opinion) asked what was wrong and we replied explaining that the food did not taste good. He shook off our response and kept eating. As we left the restaurant we headed to a wonderful gelato store and had that for dinner. On our way back to our B&B, the staff and owner was standing outside the restaurant and saw us and began laughing at us saying how we had gone and had gelato for dinner. Honestly this was a really bad experience from the moment we sat down to even being ridiculed as we walked by in front of other customers. Do not come to this restaurant unless you want to try food that is truly inedible. read more
