Tiny "premium" cabin.
David S.

Woot! Ok, small cabin rooms...think like a big coffin motel. Stay in the airport inside security. Got a layover? Wake up late, shower and walk to your gate. Cheaper than the surrounding Airport hotels to boot. They have some crappy food and drinks available 24/7...which is good bc the airport tends to slow down past 9 pm. So they have two 'cabin' sizes...basically single or double bed. Disappointingly, it's not perfectly quiet. You can (and will) hear the staff walking in the hallways in the middle of the night or the neighboring cabin slide open its bathroom door. That said, it's a small price to pay for not having to go through security again except if you're flying back to the USA, you'll have to queue for a gate side screening, somewhat self defeating.

I booked their smallest cabin for 4 hours during a layover in AMS. Check-in was a bit tedious but they just re-opened so computers are limited (no self-service kiosk check-in). I was able to sleep for 3+ hours and had everything I needed. Noise was not an issue although the plumbing does 'gurgle' sounds into the shower drain (just sounds, no water). Everything was very clean and in good working order. There were 2 pillows and a nice comforter on the bed. I didn't use the shower but soap and towels were provided in the bathroom. If you need a few hours sleep in a quiet, horizontal, comfortable place this is well worth the 50 euros (4 hrs). --------- Update: I liked the convenience of the Yotel SO much that I stayed overnight during my return trip and overnight layover in AMS. This time I booked the deluxe cabin which had more room. Total for 8.5 hours was ~$110. The Yotel just reopened October 5, 2015 and I asked the receptionist about the renovations. She told me that while there was terminal construction at AMS (in 2015) the Yotel was refurbished. Thus, some of the bad things you read from reviews prior to 2015 have 'mostly' been addressed. This means new mattresses, carpet, paint, TVs, etc. A few key tips if you book a stay at the Yotel: 1. Quarters are small but efficient- if you have more than 1 person & luggage, don't try to stuff yourselves into the basic room. I saw a Couple trying to fit themselves + 2 roll aboard suitcases and a backpack into a basic room... The wife looked pissed! Book the deluxe cabin if you have a mate. 2. Noise- there is some ambient noise from the hallway, plumbing, other guests, etc. Bring some ear plugs to keep from being disturbed. 3. Toiletries - while general purpose body wash is provided with towels in the bathroom, you'll feel better if you have some of your normal personal items (toothbrush + paste, shampoo, etc). I don't believe I saw a hairdryer, either. Enjoy! This place will save you time compared to other hotels in the area, so take advantage and get some rest. The best part of this hotel is that it's with-in the secured area of AMS, upstairs next to the McDonalds. This means no time wasted with back-and-forth through the airport security checkpoints.

Ok for a night. Convenient position in the airport. Clean place. A bit noisy at times. Not the high standards advertised.

Worst experience I have ever had so far from a hotel…read more Because of the time zone I made a mistake making my reservation through Expedia and i booked an extra day instead of only two days. At the airport from hometown, i sent a text to the hotel letting them know I made a mistake but I was on my way to get there. Once I got to the hotel, they told me they marked it as a no show because i missed the first day. I called Expedia, they contacted the supervisor Daniela, but she kept denying my reservation and not giving other reasonable alternatives. She only said to make a new reservation. I asked them if I can make it directly to them and they denied me (She just did not want to help). At that point tired from my long flight, I made another reservation through Expedia. Not surprisingly, because I was so tired, I made my reservation to the sister hotel so I had to go there instead. Now I got a message and they will NOT reimburse my first reservation because it was not show (despite of the fact I did texted them and they never replied) and even if I did not text them at all. At least the could have accommodated me for the other two days or even make me pay an extra fee which I am not opposed to. This was going to be my second time in the hotel. The first time was alright despite the fact there was no toilet paper and soap in the lobby bathroom and the service of the breakfast buffet was sloppy. I decided to give it a second chance since I work in hospitality and I know this hotel has potential. Sadly, this is my last time with this brand. They really scammed me. Never again and I hope this review finds it helpful so you know to what hotel you are making the reservation to. This is the type of hotel you want to AVOID at all cost.

Then I did a quad room for 4 guests and there was one queen/king bed and a separate little room with 2 twin beds and one bathroom for four people. Then I also did two twin bed room for two people which was just a normal room. Then front desk staff were all friendly and helpful as was the housekeeping staff. The only downside was the first day when we arrived, the shuttle driver skipped the stop at the airport and refused to admit he did so even though there was a group of guests waiting. When one of the other guests confronted him, he called all of us idiots for missing the bus. However, the bus was unmarked except for the one sheet of paper that was posted INSIDE the bus saying it's for the Corendon. You can't even see the paper from the outside until you've actually tried to board the bus. So that behavior was not appreciated. The plane thats at the back of the hotel was pretty cool and you can visit it for €3 a person. It's a retired KLM plane. The AYCE breakfast option isn't bad. Lots to choose from. In addition, if you need to do laundry, you can use the on-site laundry facility at the apartments side of the hotels.

Towels were thin and somewhat dingy-looking, and gave a distinct impression of an low-budget economy establishment. Actually we only paid 30 euro per person each night. With a bus (45) and metro (M52), you'll be at the Amsterdam Central Station in about 30 minutes. We used daily pass (8 euro per person) which is very reasonable considering it's good for three different modes of transportation--bus, streetcar and metro train for 24 hours period. Rooms are small especially for our party of three. Besides a double bed, hideaway wall bed and private bathroom, there's not much space left. There was a small table and two stools, and a small TV set placed high on the wall meeting the ceiling. The best amenity they offer here is the strong-signaled free WiFi in your room. It's a life saver. There's a business station right next to the front reception desk. There's bending fridge for drinks and ice cream bars. You pay at the reception counter. There also is a play room with foosball and billiard tables. The only thing it's missing is a pool and spa. The customer service people/front desk clerks are pleasant, efficient and some are very friendly and very helpful. If you have any questions about your trip into Amsterdam, or any other local attractions, don't hesitate to ask for answers for your questions. They'll gladly assist you. There is no restaurant in the premises, but there's an over-priced one next door. Once we looked at the menu posted outside, we decided it wasn't for us. I know things are pricey in Europe in general and Amsterdam in particular, but I didn't feel like paying 18 euro for a hamburger and fries. There are some Asian restaurants/eateries within a walking distance. If it's not too hot, you could walk about 20 minutes to a cluster of Asian eateries. There must've been four or five on Nederhoven Street through the student housing area. There was a walkway along the canal. We enjoyed seeing some nice residences along the way and back. It's part of an adventure trekking in a foreign city...we enjoyed it very much.

We booked this hotel last minute for our trip to Amsterdam, we really just needed a cheap room for one night as we were traveling over memorial day weekend and couldn't get to our original destination we wanted. This hotel was perfect for just a place to crash. Very simple and clean. The room was very small but that didn't matter to us. The toilet has its own room but the shower and sink are basically in the bedroom; which wasn't really a problem, but if you are sharing the room with something you aren't comfortable being naked with, I would suggest getting separate rooms or staying somewhere else. The shuttle service is one of the great things about this hotel. They take you to and from the airport for free, and since the train station is in the airport it works out perfectly. Just make sure you know the shuttle schedule or keep the schedule with you for timing! The WIFI in the hotel was working really nicely for us. We decided to watch a movie later in the night and it streamed over the WIFI with no problem. Overall a great hotel for the price and very convenient. Would easily stay here next time we visit Amsterdam!

We tried all day, but couldn't get out. We decided to try to find a very close hotel to the airport, since we wanted to get up very early the next day. I am a Hilton Honors Silver member, so we decided to try the Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It is about a 10 minute walk from the terminal and all of the walkways are indoors. This is very important because it does rain a lot in Amsterdam! We passed by the Sheraton, which is about 3 minutes closer to the terminal. We decided to keep them as a backup, in case the Hilton was full or too expensive. I went up to the desk and explained that we were unable to get out on a standby flight and told them I was a Hilton Honors member. The friendly woman working at check-in said they had rooms available. I asked for the price for the least expensive room. She quoted me a very fair price, which was such a relief. We were so tired and did not want to walk any more. We were also thrilled to hear that there was an onsite restaurant. Very convenient! This hotel appears to be very new. The design is gorgeous! We were so glad to have strong air conditioning in our room. It was the best we experienced in our entire Europe trip. The bed was super comfortable and the hotel was quiet. We slept very well. The bathroom was quite large and the shower had plenty of hot water. They were also the only European hotel we visited that had washcloths! I was very happy not to have to use one of my own that I had brought with me. The onsite restaurant had wonderful food. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat!

KLM booked a room here as part of an accommodation including dinner and free shuttle from airport. I paid for a taxi given the wait for the free shuttle -35 Euros for a 10 minute ride and worth it. The space is massive and is divided into two sections for rooms. Higher room numbers closer to reception and lower closer to the dining room. If your card won't work on the elevator you're not in the right section. Part of my accommodation was dinner at the Hotel's "World Buffet." I'm not a big fan of buffets so I asked at reception about it -I was assured this was one of the best buffets given his experience at multiple hotels. There was food from around the world as stated-Local, Asian, Indian, salad bar, dessert with cake and ice cream and espresso machines. I will say it was very good by Buffet standards (that said, given the full day of travel issues, most anything would've tasted good) & although I didn't pay, price is close to 40 Euros. They have a nice Bar with a Pool table and plenty of TVs for sports viewing, My room was a single with two comfortable twin beds and was just the right size. Mini fridge, safe, iron and free bottle of water were also included. The big and pleasant surprise was the indoor pool, Gym and spa amenities. Gym is open 24/7 and has all you need for a great workout. Not only did they have a dry sauna and steam room, they also had a Sanarium. (not as hot as a dry Sauna)-just what the Dr. ordered after a long travel day! Service was friendly and upbeat despite the very busy day given the travel issues. I could see planes taking off from my room but couldn't hear them & not too much close by. A good one for an overnight and if you need to be close to Schipol.
