After a day of pampering, I was hungry. A girl can't live on hair and nails alone so, I opted for a yummy bowl of ramen! Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was able to be seated right away. After a few moments of looking at the menu I knew exactly what I wanted! This place gets major points for carrying my favorite bottle of sake, so of course I had to snag a little bottle of that. I also got a big heaping bowl os spicy ramen. There are 3 different spice levels to choose from and I love to live dangerously, so I grabbed the highest level. As a woman who begs for super spicy thing, the spice was perfect for me. Super happy about this since its hard to find things that are spicy enough. This bowl absolutely destroyed me and I could not finish it all! But, it was mega good. The flavor was great and it was honestly just a beautiful bowl to look at. Happy with my warm bowl of ramen at Yoshiharu! I'll gladly be back.

Super dry chicken

I came here to say that the overall meal was below average. My cutlet was super dry and hard to eat even with the side of curry that was room temperature in my mouth but I powered through it to show why we can't waste food in these times to my mom. She wasn't happy with her noodles but to me it tasted fine. Now I didn't try the deep fried tofu but maybe that's what gave her a stomachache which ended badly for her. No need for details but she was not a happy camper upon getting her back to her place. The server was quick to get us to order but I had to go through the menu to decide. He did check back on us but since it was mediocre at best I just kept that part to myself until now. The place was fairly large by the time we were leaving they were beginning to have more customers show up. Wooden seats with the old style Japanese flavor. Big TV to watch the football game and a small area for sushi. Parking lot is small. For the amount of businesses in that strip mall.

We honestly love this ramen spot! Their ramen is so good and flavorful. We decided to try out their sushi this time and it was a hit!

We finally made it to this great ramen restaurant in person. We'v been ordering late night uber eats from here for a while. The restaurant itself is bigger than I thought and very cozy. The menus were huge with so many varieties. We started off with cold sake and draft beer. For apps we had fried tofu and seaweed salad. For ramen we had shoyu pork and lobster ramen. Also side order of spam musubi. The food was so delicious and comforting in large portions. The service was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our ramen lunch and we would definitely visit again!

Tonkotsu Spicy Black

I had high hopes for this ramen, but unfortunately, was thoroughly disappointed. When we came, there was a bit of a wait, and thought that might be a promising sign, but was wrong. We ordered the karaage chicken, the spicy miso, and the spicy black tonkatsu. You could taste the marinade from the karaage chicken, but it tasted like it was still missing something. The chicken was of very poor quality: you could see the fat when you bit into the chicken, and it had a very stringy texture. When the ramen came out, we tasted the broths and the broth was actually pretty decent. But that's where the compliment ends. The ramen noodles tasted extremely chewy, you couldn't really bit through them. The eggs were way overcooked, and more hardboiled rather than the soft boiled that's expected with ramen. The meats were soft, but were cold, even though they had been sitting in the hot ramen broth. Would not recommend, very subpar ramen.

Favorite ramen spot ! Never a long wait. Ramen is always flavorful and serving sizes are sufficient !

Delicious spicy ramen bowl!

I'm picky with ramen because I have a specific type I like. A good ramen to me is closer to an authentic Japanese ramen bowl. There aren't too many places I know that have it. Hakata ramen was the only one I knew that was more authentic. However, I went to Yoshiharu two days ago, and this wasn't my first time. The first time that I went was about 2 years ago, and I just remembered how good the ramen tastes here. I think Yoshiharu meets my expectations, and has become one of my favorites. There are different options to choose from, but spicy is always what I crave. This place has it, so I'll start coming back here more. Furthermore, service was great and professional! The booth were just fine, and I'm glad there was a lot of room with good lighting. Don't hesitate coming here, they should have what you're looking for!

St St. Louis Pork Rib Spicy Miso

What an incredible experience! The restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza, with plenty of parking available. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had no trouble finding a spot. As soon as you step inside, you're welcomed by a warm, authentic Japanese atmosphere that feels both cultured and inviting. Our server was wonderful--friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The appetizers arrived quickly, while the main dishes took a bit longer, but it was well worth the wait. The presentation and flavor truly stood out, showing the care they put into each dish. I highly recommend trying the limited-time St. Louis Short Rib Ramen and the calamari--both were outstanding! This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. We came in as a party of six and had no trouble being seated comfortably. The restaurant is also very clean, including the restrooms, which is always a plus. Hats off to the team here for creating such a memorable dining experience!

Tonkotsu Black lobster ramen (seasonal)

Amazing service, we were greeted a happy smile and very nice server. the ramens were both yummy! the pork in the Tonkotsu Black had a lot of flavor and was the perfect tenderness. The seafood in the lobster ramen was good so was the broth.

Food: Amazing!! We each had the Spicy Miso (LVL 1 and 2) and the edemame. Fresh tasting everything!!! Service: Also, Amazing! From the time we walked in to the awesome conversation we had with Gio regarding the food and the restaurant, great experience. Ambiance: Clean, great music, at home feel. We will be coming back. Oh, FYI: In conversation we mentioned that we eat Ramen/Miso in our travels since we are a military family. We had already paid. Gio provided a discount for First Responders/Military. Thank you!!!!

Got some gyoza as an appetizer. Grilled.

Friends were craving some ramen so we opted to try out this place from a recommendation. There was a short wait, but we got seated within 5-10mins. The service was relatively smooth and quick. Got our drinks, appetizers and then mains. It's not a large venue but cozy enough for folks to catch up. We had a booth to ourselves allowing for plenty of catch up. Decently priced as well. They also have a variety of other food, not just ramen so I'll be back to try more of their dishes.

As always , delicious Ramen.

Both of our drinks tasted great and were refreshing. The Iced Green Tea also had free refills, which was nice. Next we ordered some appetizers; the Spicy Garlic Edamame (our usual) and the King Crab Bites (to try something new). The Spicy Garlic Edamame was tasty as usual and had a nice kick. My husband wasn't a fan of the King Crab Bites because he thought they could've used more flavor and the texture was off. Lastly, we ordered our entrees; I tried something new and ordered the Pork Curry Katsu while my husband had the Pork Cutlet Ramen (mild spice level). The Pork Curry Katsu was delicious, complex, and full of flavor. The pork katsu was crispy and cooked to perfection, which complemented the curry and rice. My husband enjoyed his Pork Cutlet Ramen as well. His only issue was that it could've used a bit more salt. It is pricey here, but they do give generous entree portions. We were very full and had some leftovers to take home for later. We had a few different servers, and they were all polite and helpful. Our food was brought out quickly, which was also great. The only issue is that the service was a bit spotty and we weren't checked on very often to see if we needed anything (for example, I didn't get any refills). It wasn't too busy either, so I'm not sure why this was the case. The interior was clean and had a casual, slightly lively atmosphere. They have blend of modern and traditional Japanese decor, which gives off a comfy/modern dining experience. There's a decent amount of seating, and you have the option of sitting at the bar or a table. Both options put you in close proximity to other diners, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. They also had different mix of music genres playing in the background. Overall we had a decent experience and plan on stopping by again soon!

Yoshiharu Ramen is beyond delicious, and it's hard to put into words how flavorful the food is. The restaurant has tinted windows, possibly to reduce sunset glare, creating a unique atmosphere. However, the ambiance could be more welcoming, perhaps with some soft music and better organization to make it more inviting. We were first welcomed by the receptionist/waiter named Elena. Elena was very friendly and made my family and me feel comfortable. From the very beginning, she was attentive to our needs and checked on us throughout our dinner to see if we needed anything. There were five of us, and we had the following: * (2) Tonkotsu Miso * (2) Tonkotsu Shoyu * Spicy Miso LV1 * Edamame * Garlic Edamame * Deep Fried Gyoza * Crunch Fire Roll * Jalapeño Bomb Talking about each item individually would make this review endless. The broth for all our dishes was incredibly good. Each plate came with corn, seaweed, bamboo, and other ingredients cooked to perfection. Our favorite appetizer was the Jalapeño Bomb. This dish is to die for--so flavorful and full of great taste in every bite (though it can be a bit messy). Aside from our favorite appetizer, all the dishes were really good. For many restaurants, having a good host and cook is key to success. Elena's service should be recognized and rewarded! But the main person who brings everything together is Peter! We watched Peter in the kitchen, and he was in his zone. The reason I say Peter wraps everything up is because we returned three more times, and the food was consistently flavorful each time. That's a huge plus for us. We got to meet him last night as he finished cooking, checked us out, and cleaned the remaining tables of the night. Such a humble person! I hope Yoshiharu Ramen appreciates and shows their thanks to their employees. Without Peter in the kitchen delivering great flavor in every meal, this place may not be what it is. Thank you, Peter and Elena, for the great experience! We have definitely bookmarked this restaurant as one of our favorites!

But…read morewhile many people see the volume izakayas and ramen shops, it's actually quite rare to stumble upon a traditional mom & pop spot that makes classic Japanese favorites. That's why I immediately came down to Tamaya when I noticed the laid back atmosphere, small storefront, and modest food offerings. Walking up on a Wednesday evening around 6:45PM, there was a line to eat in the small dining room. But we were seated relatively quickly. Looking at the menu, there were large variety of appetizers ranging from your chashu and takoyaki to tofu steaks and gyozas. But what I was interested in was the amount of different ramen options, curry plates, and don bowls. With so many choices, you're definitely in for more than your typical Japanese spot. For this visit, I decided to try their Meat Lover's Ramen which was $19.25 at the time of this review. And looking at the bowl, I was very pleased. For one, large chunks of beef, chicken, and chashu pork were all on the surface with some vegetables and cilantro. The noodles to ingredient ratio was pretty equal at about 50% noodles to 50% ingredients. And with a soup base that filled up to the top of the bowl, there was no justification needed for the $19 price tag. If you're looking for a ramen with mass quantity, Tamaya is definitely the spot for you! Taste-wise, the flavors did clash a little as the meats all had different flavors to them. But nonetheless, they all paired well with the rest of the ingredients. While the chunks of beef had a soy sauce undertone to them, the chashu was more sweet and fatty. The chicken tasted lightly stir-fried, but was chunky and filling. The noodles of this dish were softer, but tasted great with the creamy broth. And although the greens were garnishes, they tasted freshly washed and added some fresh flavors to the bowl of ramen. There are so many ramen shops in the San Gabriel Valley that get the hype from so many reviewers. And to that, Tamaya does just as good of a job at making a great ramen (if not better)! The place feels cozy and approachable for those looking to try different kinds of Japanese food, the prices for the food were very good in the Rowland Heights area, the food tasted delicious, and the offerings are very diverse compared to many other specialized places. Because of these offerings, Tamaya easily earns a 5/5 in my book and is a place I will return to again and again.

It's funny because this is a ramen restaurant, but the coffee is surprisingly good and perfectly matches my taste. One of the reasons I enjoy coming here so much is the atmosphere. You can often hear the staff speaking Japanese, which really adds to the authentic vibe and makes it feel like you're eating at a small ramen shop in Japan. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.
