Kids know best right? My 9 year old refused to get ice cream at any other shop until we stopped here first. Must stop!

I love an independent candy store!…read more While visiting Columbia Park, we stopped into Nelson's per our friend's recommendation. The inside was lined on both sides with some many different candies - I was almost overwhelmed! They had fresh fruit jellies, dark and milk chocolates, rock candy, marshmallows - I could go on and on! We took home the jellies, dark chocolate almond bark, a discounted Valentine's Day chocolate heart box, handmade marshmallows and a couple of other goodies! Staff were friendly! The inside had an old western feel to it and they even had old school cash registers. It's a great place to pick up a gift and they have different holiday options - I even saw St. Patrick's Day candy out already! Check them out!

My favorite chocolates they make are pine nut rolls - which are also around the winter holidays. They always theme their shop around the season or holiday, and it's always well done and incredibly cute. The girls who work there are so friendly and helpful, and every time I've gotten candy as a gift for someone, their wrapping job is exquisite. I'm a local and it's a struggle not to just come get candy here every week. I recently went sugar free and they've even got something for me. Would absolutely recommend anyone stop in, they've got options for just about anyone.

Quaint little sweet shop at the Ahwanee hotel in Yosemite Valley…read more We stopped by for drinks, snacks and sweets (of course!) on our annual family trip this spring, then enjoyed these at an outdoor table overlooking the lawn. The service is friendly and the drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. But watch out for the sweets - some of them are priced a bit on the exorbitant side. We paid $4.49 each for marshmallow and nut truffles! They were delicious though, so I guess you get what you pay for!!

Excellent selection of sweets from cloyingly sweet to just a hint of sweet…read more Every time I am in Yosemite I get the ginger cookies from the women who bakes them at home and brings them to the park for sale in the stores in the valley. They are made from wholesome ingredients and remind me of the holidays. They have just the right amount of spice which makes them ever so satisfying. My fiancée enjoyed the walnut chocolate chip cookies made by the same woman that I bought him as well. We ended up coming back and buying two more bags of cookies because they were so good. On the recommendation of the young woman working at the store I purchased a raw unfiltered local honey bear. She said it's the best honey she's had and it's cute to boot! Since we were celebrating our anniversary my fiancée and I bought matching pint glasses that have the map of Yosemite printed on them. What a cool way to commemorate our trip and recall the places we hiked and moments we shared here! We planned a romantic picnic by the Merced river and bought sourdough and cheddar from the valley grocery and came back here to buy dried figs, apricots, and plums. The fruit mix was pure fruit with water -- no sulfites or sugar added -- and it was simply delectable! I would highly recommend this dried fruit to anyone who enjoys figs, apricots, and plums as it is a tasty pairing. Highly recommend this little shop for both the friendly service and the good quality selection is sweets :) Thank you!
