Brought me family here will on short winter ski trip. Our instructor (so sorry I forgot his name) was awesome. He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and was patient with all of us, ensuring everyone had a great time. Didn't know there are so many ax throwing games, which made for great competition in our group. From throwing different axes to even a knife, this placed rocked. I would definitely recommend it to anyone heading to the Mammoth area.

We had the best time at Yosemite axe throwing! Our daughter was surprisingly scared to try and Justin was so patient with her. His kind explanations and enthusiasm helped her get over her fear and she was throwing bullseyes before we knew it! Justin made a fun experience into a day we will always remember! He talked to our son about the physics of axe throwing and all the weaponry that he is interested in and suggested some resources to explore. We will definitely be back for another try the next time we are in Mammoth! Thanks, Justin!

Very fun! Easy to get the hang of. Customer service was very nice and friendly, they teach you how to throw the axe and want to make sure you have a good time! Many axes to pick from, and it's really cool that you can throw at a real tree trunk. I have a daughter who is 7, she is too little to throw the axes, they have a little fake axe throwing stand for the kids. Overall, we all had a really good time!

Super fun activity . Our instructor, Justin, was amazing. He taught us cool techniques to throw the axe, was very friendly and kept us entertained throughout. We went as a group of 4 on a Saturday evening . The place wasn't crowded , there was just another couple besides us . We had lots of fun in that allocated 30 minute period . Glad we did this on our trip . You need to wear closed toed shoes . If you come in with sandals like my friend did , the instructor would loan you some crocs . It has like 6-7 booths and I guess around 4-5 ppl can occupy a booth and keep score if things are getting competitive. The place is in a strip mall, so ample parking is available.

My boyfriend and I saw the sign for axe throwing and decided to check the place out. We've never done axe throwing but it's been on my date list. We decided to purchase 1 hour ($30/person). The gentleman (Matteo) was amazing! He went through safety tips and instructions. He said we could throw all day if the place wasn't busy. Matteo kept checking in on us, making observations on our throws, giving us different axes and showing us methods to throw them. We got tons of encouragement and pointers from Matteo, that helped our confidence and nerves. We had a small competition and I lost lol. We really enjoyed the axe throwing! Matteo took our pictures at the end. We headed straight to Ace's hardware store after, bought an axe (that we "needed"). I would definitely come back again!

We visited Yosemite Axe Throwing today while taking a break from skiing and snowboarding and it was a fun experience! For our family of four we each were able to have our own lane. The price was $30pp per hour. Justin was so helpful, giving us the safety overview, some basics and tips, and then gave us three different axes to throw. Once we started practicing, he gave us more techniques and tips so by the end of our hour we all had our own style to hit the target. Fun music too Definitely recommend visiting Yosemite Axe for a unique activity while in Mammoth! Give them some business, they are awesome. Kids 8+ can participate. Parking is plentiful and easy.

Such a fun experience! We were greeted by Justyn. Really cool dude and instructor. He showed us quite a few different throws. He was patient, funny and courteous. Great service and safe atmosphere. We came in the afternoon so it wasn't too busy. They had a variety of nice axes and targets. I'm glad we decided to go and highly recommend you visit and support local businesses. Justyn was even nice enough to let us use these larger Viking looking axes for our photos. I would totally do it again when I come up here!

Ok this place is a must visit when you visit Mammoth Lakes. The staff are super cool, focused on safety and they let you pick the music so, bonus. They give you a full safety briefing so you feel confident when you're throwing. I didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did. You're pretty much constantly saying, "Next throw." Or, "One more throw!" My wife and son went without me while I was working and said it was super cool and I had to go. So glad I listened.

We walked there during a snow storm wanting to get out. We were the only family there. Mateo was so welcoming and friendly. He showed us how to throw several different axes & throw styles. My husband and our boys caught on right away. Mateo was very patient with me. He was encouraging and was determined to help me throw. We all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this place. You don't need any previous experience-just come, have fun, and enjoy!

Saw Yosemite Axe throwing one morning while stopping for breakfast and knew that we would be adding this into our activity list for our vacation!! Best decision ever!!! We had a huge group and lucked out that the Sunday evening wasn't busy at all! We had the place to our selves and got to learn some skills learn some history and toss some sharp axes at a wall!! Talk about a decompression haha!! Don't let a dollar amount keep you from trying like a couple who came in while we were there did, they missed out on a fun time! Will absolutely be back on each of our visits!

Axe throwing was awesome! Like darts, but with axes! I was fairly experienced but my girlfriend was a newbie. The instructor was awesome... with some simple instruction and brief demonstration, he had my girlfriend confidently throwing controlled throws near the bullseye! He also helped me improve my technique and learn a few new styles of throw. This can be really fun when you start to keep score! It brings out the competitive spirit! If you are looking for something fun for an hour in Mammoth, give this a try! They can sometimes take your party as a walk-in, but just call them and make a reservation... it's easy and insures your party can throw!

On top of that, he ordered a beer, and I ordered a bottled water. Our hostess was also named Jennifer, and she was super sweet. My date had already been here a few times, so he knew the ropes, but Jennifer still took a little extra time to show me how things worked. In the main room, there were about six targets, and most of them were pretty much spent, to be honest. They'd had so many axes thrown at them that it was becoming difficult for the axes to stick-- several of the targets were actually concaved. The two good targets were kind of far apart, which made it hard for my date and I to be next to each other. Another one of the targets was basically unusable because there was a kiddy practice target set up in front of it. Luckily, though, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Each booth had several axes hanging on a metal strip, and we were encouraged to experiment with as many different blades as possible. I think we both tried them all. Eventually, we went out back, which turned out to be the nicer area. There were another six targets back there, and they were not quite as used up as the ones inside. The fairy lights around the barn theme was the perfect vibe for a first date. I personally didn't mind the pile of a hundred or so bicycles in the parking lot, but I did wonder-- why? I've been wanting to try axe throwing for a very long time, so I was happy to finally get the chance to do it. Once you throw the axe a few times, and realize that this is what you're literally going to do for an hour straight, it's a little less exciting. Now that I've tried it, I don't think I would need to try it again, but I had a lot of fun.
