I recently went here with a date, and we had a really fun time. When you first check in, you pay, and then sign a waiver. It was $30/person/hour. On top of that, he ordered a beer, and I ordered a bottled water. Our hostess was also named Jennifer, and she was super sweet. My date had already been here a few times, so he knew the ropes, but Jennifer still took a little extra time to show me how things worked. In the main room, there were about six targets, and most of them were pretty much spent, to be honest. They'd had so many axes thrown at them that it was becoming difficult for the axes to stick-- several of the targets were actually concaved. The two good targets were kind of far apart, which made it hard for my date and I to be next to each other. Another one of the targets was basically unusable because there was a kiddy practice target set up in front of it. Luckily, though, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Each booth had several axes hanging on a metal strip, and we were encouraged to experiment with as many different blades as possible. I think we both tried them all. Eventually, we went out back, which turned out to be the nicer area. There were another six targets back there, and they were not quite as used up as the ones inside. The fairy lights around the barn theme was the perfect vibe for a first date. I personally didn't mind the pile of a hundred or so bicycles in the parking lot, but I did wonder-- why? I've been wanting to try axe throwing for a very long time, so I was happy to finally get the chance to do it. Once you throw the axe a few times, and realize that this is what you're literally going to do for an hour straight, it's a little less exciting. Now that I've tried it, I don't think I would need to try it again, but I had a lot of fun. read more

Dylan (I hope that's how you spell it) was a fantastic host and a more awesome/helpful demonstrator. Never been axe throwing, but he made it look easy. Was super nice, very interactive, and made things easy. He continuously checked up on us, and showed us different ways to throw an axe. My husband and I walked in, and the front desk person (woman with a piercing by her lips) told us immediately at around 7:04pm that we barely made it in. I saw online that the last reservation was 8-9 pm. I didn't appreciate the dishonesty and we left. We had an awesome time at Yosemite Axe Throwing! Located in Oakhurst south of the national park, the location is very unassuming. However, they have multiple indoor lanes and out back, covered outdoor lanes as well! Due to Covid we were hoping to be able to throw outside to maintain social distancing. We ended up having the outdoor lanes to ourselves for the hour we spent throwing. It was perfect! It was $30 per person for an hour session. Upon entry, we paid and used our phones to scan a QR code that allowed us to fill out a liability waiver online. The guy working the front was super nice. He then led us to our outdoor lane and gave us a quick rundown on how to throw. They had music playing and provided a white board and marker for us to keep score if we wanted. We had a lot of fun. The guy working was there if we needed him and checked on us a few times. Overall we had a blast and were happy to be able to be in an outdoor lane and distanced. We had such an amazing time! Sean was our instructor and showed us how to throw like a pro. He also showed off his own skills, told us about what living in the mountains is like, and made sure we had an all-around great time. We even did a competition with white boards! This is a great place to go for a relaxed, entertaining, and fun time. The location is clean and safe. Helped me pick a better axe to throw based off weight and I'm a shorty. An hour was plenty of time and went by quickly once I got the hang of it. Great business! We came here at 3:30 on a Friday with a group of 14 people and and there were no other customers at that time! We got the whole axe yard to ourselves and although we paid for an hour, they let us use it until we were tried, about 5:30. The axe yards themselves are in pretty good quality, considering how often they are used. They have a wide variety of axes from small ones to large ones to light and heavy. The guy working there was very helpful. They didn't require us to wear masks both inside and outside the store, but maybe because there wasn't a lot of people. Will DEFINITELY be coming back soon! I went ax throwing there on my vacation here in Yosemite and it was a blast! The staff was super friendly and helpful. If you've never gone ax throwing before, they're more than happy to help you out. My group only spent an hour there but it was more than enough time. Our arms were getting sore after about 45 minutes! A heads up though, there is a minimum age requirement in order to ax throw. I saw a family with young kids turned away at one point. read more

My boyfriend and I had never gone axe throwing and saw this was open so we popped in. Sean was the gentlemen working and he was so friendly and greeted us right as we walked in.
