This place is pretty great for low-priced produce. I don't really understand why they have so many commercial products you can find in every other store in the area because that aspect doesn't really seem to jive with the local produce. They do have an extensive selection of local nuts and snacks too. It is also a very convenient stop on the way to Sacramento- it is literally right off the freeway on the Davis side of the causeway and, ergo, very easy to get to and from. I go fairly frequently as I think their produce is good quality and well-priced (cheaper than supermarkets, closer to to actual farmer's market pricing.) read more

My favorite place to get fresh fruits and veggies. Most of the produce there is in season, because a lot of it is local. This means sometimes they don't have certain things, but maybe you shouldn't be eating those things anyway? Their bananas are super cheap, along with most of their other produce. Good selection of dried beans, nuts, seeds, indian products, etc. As long as you stay away from the canned goods and processed stuff, you will be shocked at the price total when you are done shopping. Location, Location, Location. The one thing this place lacks. Tons of cheap fruits and vegetables, and for some reason middle eastern food. and Russian sodas. No explaining the variety, just good prices on good food. read more

This place is great. They have local produce for a very reasonable price. It is off the highway so it is easy to get too and I can see it from the freeway. Their produce is fresh and reasonable so fresh that sometimes the produce is starting to go bad and mold so be careful. Whenever I need certain ingredients I always go here because I can suually find it here for cheap. The service is good and everyone is pretty friendly. Parking is never an issue because they have their own lot and plenty of spaces even when it is crowded. read more

I don't know how many times I've driven by this market without realizing what it was. Luckily, I got lost on the way to Ikea and found the Yolo Fruit Stand. There is so much great produce and locally created yumminess that it's crazy that so many people pass it by. When you stop by, and you will, make sure to grab some cheese curd located in the back. I've been here 3 times passing through to the bay area and the only thing I like about the place is the restrooms are available for my wife thus the one star. The produce I've bought has not been local and kind of tasteless. Much better produce and prices at my local market. I was there 3 days ago I bought some wasabi almonds and they were very stale with no wasabi flavor at all! I tossed them they were so repulsive! I will never shop here again. read more

This place is a must-drop-by. You can get a full spectrum of produce at an affordable price and it is located to freeway I-80 eastbound.

I remember when the building that now houses the Yolo Fruit Stand was being constructed. I couldn't figure out what the heck it was going to be since it was isolated by the Yolo Bypass and had an oversized garage attached to what looked like an office space. Now the design makes sense. This place has grown exponentially since its opening. I have gone in there several times and been impressed with all the local produce, I totally recommend this place as a source for food and niche products grown and processed in the area since everyday farmers markets like this will go far to strengthening our regional food system. My only qualm was that they only carry a few, if any, organically grown veggies and fruit and don't label which farms supply their produce. read more

I love stopping by Yolo Fruit Stand whenever I pass by. They have a huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from and their prices are really affordable. This is literally the only place where I can load up and go home with 2 or 3 bags of fruits and veggies for under $15. Doesn't get better than that. read more

I buy all my produce here. The prices are farmers market level, but I can go any day of the week. As with any store, you need to make sure you're buying the freshest stuff, but I've never had an issue with them stocking obviously dated stuff. The real bonus is the selection of nuts, raw almonds...flavored nuts like honey raspberry almonds...things I've never seen anywhere else....and at prices about 1/2 to 2/3 of what they are other places. Nice Highway stop on your way to Reno or Lake Tahoe. We bought some fruits. They weren't expensive. Place was clean and well maintained.

Their prices are great with local fruit that is much fresher than from the supermarkets.

I wasn't a huge fan of banana chips until I found them here. Giant bags, cheap, organic, and delicious. I drive an hour to get these gems!

This shop, although it's slightly out of town, is by far one of my favorite things about living in Davis (and as a recent transplant, in California). It's dirt cheap, amazing seasonal local produce- all the benefits of a CSA but you get to pick! And the people who run it are so nice- if I miss a week they ask where I've been. And most weeks, I can fill up a grocery cart with fresh produce for $20-$30, and I've become an expert on the precise seasonality of everything without going to the farmer's market! I take people from out of town to stock up on their amazing dried fruit, and when people move here I bring them as well (and they inevitably become regulars too). I've been wanting to go here since this place opened but every single time I pass it I'm usually on my way to the bay and by the time I'm back on Sunday night, this place is closed. This place isn't exactly on the way home, well it's just way out there in the middle of the boondocks. I'm glad I finally checked it out today because I scored a great deal on rainier cherries, only $2.99 a pound! Every time I see the farmers selling them on Oak & Sunrise they charge $5 and Bel-Air charges even more! They also carry the most gigantic mangoes and tomatoes I've ever seen. I'm going to guess that the owners are from the Middle East or India? I saw a lot my favorite fruit roll ups there that are from Iran, lots of Indian and Middle Eastern food as well. I noticed right away that the prices are cheaper here for products I buy every week at the grocery store. I'm a big fan of this place but it's so out of way from my home. It would be nice if I knew exactly what farms the products were coming from and if they were organic. Other than that, this place is really great! read more

This fruit stand is good. What I like best is the interesting fruits and vegetables they sometimes carry. They have portobello mushrooms at a reasonable price and I can get beets here that I can't get anywhere else at this price point. In the summer time I've gotten some realllllllly good grapes and on occasion have gotten really good mangoes too. One time I got organic mangoes for 50 cents each that were sweet and did not have too much fiber. Sometimes they carry the same good stuff that Pedricks does and it's closer. I haven't yet tried the nuts and seed selection. I like this place for the variety. It does not beat Pedricks on volume and cost. read more

First of all GROSS!! So dissapointed in quality. Went because the reviews seamed great but as I walked in the cashier that was handling money also was packaging nuts into bags. Also, I went there to get apples for an apple pie and the apples were moldy and had fuzz on them.nasty...definitely wasn't there long and left with no intention on going back. read more

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! Forget Trader Joe's, forget Whole Foods - if you want the freshest veggies and fruit with an incredible selection of dried fruit and nuts, candies, oils, spices - it really is extraordinary place. While we were there one day one of the farmers rolled up with the best looking strawberries I have ever seen. Proved to me that they buy directly from the producers. A year ago, they were pretty awesome. The prices are still ok, but the produce is getting a bit sub-par. This is not to mention the customer service isn't quite what it used to be. I know of a couple more places. Time to go check them out. read more

I used to come here all the time. It was hit or miss with the vegetables, usually good deals on zucchini and bell peppers. I stopped coming here because I was being overcharged/ripped off. I thought it was my imagination, but when i would look at my receipt, it showed overcharging and double charges. I started paying careful attention and when I caught it happening again, I called one of the cashiers out on it. She immediately admitted to it and fixed it. Another time I watched as one female cashier double swiped an item when the customer in front of me turned his head. The last and final time I was in there my sister bought a bag of red potatoes and we were talking to each other in line (but she was keeping an eye on the male checker) and she saw him swipe the potatoes twice. She asked him "Why did you just swipe that and charge me twice??" He said "oh, and immediately took it off. I called later asking to talk to a manager about this but he was out so I had to leave a message. No one ever returned my call. Will never be back again and do not recommend it. read more

Yolo fruit stand is great! You can get all your fruits and veggies for half the price of a supermarket. Their dried fruit and nuts are also a very good deal. Some of their fruit seems to be nearer to the end of it's prime than others, so you may have to abandon your plan for peach pie and go with apple pie depending on the condition of the fruit at any given visit. They also seem to have problems with credit cards frequently, so sometimes expect a wait, but just calm down and you will get through it. That being said, I can't wait for peaches to get down to sub $.50/ lb! read more

I can't believe this place. How can the owners live with themselves knowing how much trash they are selling to their customers? First of all, the produce is old. Have you noticed that it doesn't last longer than 2-3 days in your refrigerator. Next, the dried fruit and nuts. I tried the pistachios and the dried pineapple. Um, where is the expiration date? I have never before had an experience worth the time to write a review, but I can't let them get away with how they treated me. I am a lifetime customer, I live a couple hours away, but anytime I take a road trip down 80 I stop for their ice cream and fruit. I stopped last weekend to escape the traffic and cool off with my usual. Unfortunately I locked my keys in my car, and was stranded in the middle of no where with no one within 2 hours to call. The owners were screaming at me to either break open my window or walk the 150 miles home, because they had to lock the gates to get to their night plans. I am a 20 year old female. I was so scared, they were so mean and made me feel so uncomfortable. they threatened to lock me in there over night and refused to wait for my AAA service to come. Thank god the AAA guy heard them screaming over the phone and rushed over in 10 mins. Worst part was that he said those owners have threatened to lock up other AAA members before when this has happened. ALSO they charged me $9 for a scoop of icecream because the cashier didn't know how to give me a refund. Lost this customer for good. read more
