This place is the best! They have treats from all over Europe. You can find some real tasty treats here. We stopped by to get some coffee, and we noticed there was so many other gems in this shop. Now when I pass by this area I will stop by here. You have to try this place out. We got some Greek chocolate treats that tasted like the best chocolate I had tasted in a very long time. Not really much in here. Prices were semi reasonable fresh keylimes were 4 for $1. A lot of items seemed to be iranian or something near there like middle eastern. It was a bit confusing, because the ingredients were in a different language for the shelved items as well as many of the refrigerated items. There was a cute little coffee shop inside of the store not sure if it was open. I didn't ask the lady that rang us up since she looked to be in a hurry/flustered and the only one in the store. read more

I'm not content rating 3 stars because I don't want to negatively affect a small local business trying to provide products and service and make ends meet. Two strong things that drop my rating are two separate reports of the restroom being horrid (March 2016 and January 2022). Very few options for travelers passing through. They should probably just rent a decent porta-potty to keep in the parking lot. I'll never use their restroom. The other negative, the signs luring me in for exotic beef jeeky. I expect jerky to be fully from the meat of the animal, not a blend. Every strip of exotic meat (camel, buffalo, alligator) were blends of other meat (pork or beef). On top of that, I didn't like the jerky flavors. The good... The oranges (January 2022) were outstanding. You can refrigerate them for 3-4 weeks. A 24# bag was $15 and a friend and I split a bag. They fit in one crisper drawer in my fridge and at 62¢/lb, totally worth it! The dried fruit and snack nuts were nicely packaged and decent prices. Large selection. Great for road trip eats. Most dried fruit have sulphur but not all. Check the package carefully if this matters to you. Disappointed the pineapple pie had fake sugar but there'll be another unique pie to try somewhere and I can't win them all. Overall, definitely stop by if you want some good produce (not all is great but much is). Don't stop for the restroom. Don't stop for the beef jerky. read more

I haven't been to this fruit stand since I was a kid. It's not how I remembered it. Almost everything they sell is way overpriced. Some of the fruit was already rotting. It looked like they were also selling stuff from grocery stores but for more money. The fruit we did buy was pretty good, just a little expensive. They have different types of jerky. My daughter picked out the Buffalo Jerky. She hasn't tried it yet so not sure how good it is. We also bought some dried mango, my family enjoyed that. The employees were nice. It was very hot inside. Stopped by on our way home from Vacaville Outlets because my friend wanted some fresh produce. I was hot and cranky but since it was literally RIGHT off the freeway I said okay. It is actually a little market so it is more than a fruit stand. Produce was iffy on some things so you really have to be selective or maybe because it has been 100 degrees that things are wilting? I did pick up a few things I needed. What I did like was the dried fruit and nut selection. Prices are not the lowest. I'd say comparable to Trader Joes without the flair. The lady at the register was nice. It's an alright place to stop but expected prettier produce. I'd worry a little about the shelf life but since I was using it within a day I was not as worried. read more

Poor customer service. Was faced with an attitude when asking for the restroom. Wouldn't recommend the stop.

The first time I went to this location the lady behind the counter older Greek woman needed a calculator to figure out my age off my ID at the same time she was refusing to let a five-year-old use the bathroom because of Covid concerns. The second time I went to this location I was attempting to buy two individual 16 ounce beers and the lady made smirky comments about me buying it for my girlfriend for some incoherent reason and also asked her for her ID. In general I would avoid the stand their food seems to be mostly old and they had lack any sort of customer service skills. Waste of your time. read more

Some sundries ... cold case drinks, bread, ... stuff. Keep the line moving by using cash. No debit. Credit OK. I've seen it pretty busy on fine weather days and especially weekends. Have been missing this place so found a reason to go and so happy I did! Big sign but exit curves to side/service road, a bit easy to miss. So plan to spot the sign YOLO FRUIT STAND on the right side after Fairfield then Davis on Interstate-80 towards Sacramento. Watch for it! Why? Well, stock changes as it's brought in fresh by local farmers. That day I found great long green beans snappin' fresh, a HUGE watermelon $5, cilantro big bunches 2/$1. Firm fresh mushrooms white/brown/portabello looked primo. Broccolli crowns nicely trimmed and I grabbed a huge bag; they cooked up deliciously. Roma tomatoes beautiful at half the price anywhere else! Garlic, all varieties of large and small squash, basil, mint, cilantro fresh herbs. DAIRY, NUTS, FRUITS, PICKLED: Others have described the variety in dairy case, nuts and dry fruits aisle, and the spices, pickled, sweet & savories from the middle east/u.k./everywhere else (bulghur in 4 sizes!) dill pickles, curries simmers, lemon curd. Exhaustive supply of spices and condiments you never knew you needed! Anyone who cooks ethnic will go crazy in this market as all the spices and condiments are represented and some you never saw! I have to mention the service too, which is always welcoming AND the coffee bar which will make you a cold or hot brew you'll savor : ) (Walk in, take a left......) This is one of our favorite stops between here and there on interstate 80. It is a no frills no nonsense fruit stand with high Russian influences. The prices are reasonable and fruit fresh, if not local. During this time of year the local mandarins are .59c/.lb juicy and delicious. Bananas .49c/.lb. I even found sweet juicy cherries for $4.99 .lb a few weeks ago. Small avocados 2/$1 They have a little corner coffee and snack bar in the corner, they sell alot of car candy and snacks like most fruit stands up and down interstate 80. Yesterday they accommodated my special request for a smaller bulk bag of pumpkin seeds since I did not desire 2 pounds of pumpkin seeds, they gave me a 1/2 pound bag. , They lost one star for their coed bathroom being less than sanitary for a OCD Nurse to use. If I'm heading towards the Bay area, I stop at Pedrick's. If I'm returning to Tahoe, I stop at the YOLO. Coz, you know, YOLO. Here's where I go bonkers: Nuts - mostly pistachios but it is impossible to just get "a few" - nope, physically impossible. Fruit - OMG, if cherries are in season, buy buy buy buy. Veggies - Less likely to buy these in bulk since it's hard for me to use them all up before they go bad, but they always seem quite fresh. The "kids" who work here are really nice and helpful. read more

I only stop here when I am on my way back into Sacramento, because getting there from the 80 West is a total pain in the ass. I remember when this was actually more of a fruit stand, but now it is more small grocery store with a focus on local produce, cheese, nuts, etc. Hands down my favorite thing to get here are these little corn and flour tortillas with green peppers baked into them. They are amazing and, though I'm sure they are sold somewhere else around Sacramento, this is the only place I've seen them so far. After I grab the tortillas, I check through the produce and always find something that looks good. Occasionally I'll get some cheese, milk, or nuts with wasabi or something. They take cards and the parking lot always has room. The service is friendly. I'll be back next time I'm headed into town! read more

I should have taken the extremely browned/rotten bananas at the front entrance as a sign. The produce was limited, but also old. My husband and I stopped here on our way back from a Dr. Appt in Davis and thought to stop by and support a local business. I thought this place would have a cute vibe, however I was sorely disappointed. We were not greeted but the market was filled with noise coming from a women on the phone who appeared to be in charge going on and on about something. Unfortunately her appearance did not look very tidy, which was another flag. When looking at the produce we noticed old avacados and withered fruits in boxes. I saw a bag of cherries and since the cherry orchards are in Davis thought I'd give them a try. Boy was I bamboozled! At first I saw decent cherries nice and plump at the top of the bag, but when I got home amd washed the cherries and noticed that 99.9% was imperfect and small cherries that were bitter. I don't mind a double cherry - nothing wrong with that, but it was sad that they played their customer by putting the nice ripe cherries on the top. I also purchased blueberries (which both items are in season) and they also bitter or even flavorless. This shop has the potential of being a cute and awesome place; however, I don't think with current management it will be any of those things. read more

I hate to come in an a negative, but this is the worst fruit stand that I have ever been to. Nothing looked very fresh. But, I needed bananas, so I found 2 that were "the best of the worst" 2 Pomegranates ( the same). When I got home the bananas were nearly liquid inside, and the inside membrane of the Pomegranate was brown, and the seeds were pink. The older lady was nice. But, I won't go back. read more

This is probably my favorite place to come and get a healthy snack. There is a wide variety of snacks (peas, dehydrated fruits, corn, etc.) and fruits (apples, bananas, tomatoes, donut peaches). I love coming here and there is always something to buy when here. Definitely recommend! :) read more

This place is right before Sacramento and is a great stop for some good stuff like the Orange Flesh Honeydew Melons or Spicy Dried Mango. The place is more on the farm side, being everything is dirty. There is only a single restroom and is often out of order. The staff inside, don't even bother telling their customers, just tells them where it is. read more

We travel from Mill Valley to the foothills a LOT and this fruit stand in Davis (which is really so much more than just a fruit stand) is a MUST. Big bags of almonds and seasoned and sweetened blends of nuts and local dried fruit is one reason, the variety of dried and fresh fruits is according to season. Organic honey crisp apples are usually 99 cents a pound but it changes seasonally. Lots of other varieties too. There are pears, oranges, pineapples, avocados, strawberries (in season) - but there's much more than just fruit. I buy olive oil, whole grains, hummus, pasta, beans and dairy here too! Things I never tried before, such as pimento spread from Macedonia and other exotic canned foods are on the shelves. Locally baked sweets and a variety of breads take up one whole wall. They also make up sandwiches, coffee and ice cream, although I'm usually in a rush so I don't stop long enough for that. The owners are pleasant and understandably busy and you can usually find them sorting and displaying fruit. I've seen negative remarks about the rest room, ok, so maybe it's not the cleanest but when you have travelers just popping in to use the facility, that can be a challenge. This place is a find, don't just drive by. It's worth a stop to stock up on the freshest and best fruits and nuts and other stuff too. read more

I've been to the Yolo Fruit Stand many times in the past. The store always had a nice selection of fresh fruit, veggies, snacks, etc. The pandemic hit so i haven't been back for some time. I was in Davis for the day, traffic was bad, and thought...what the heck...I might as well stop by to buy some fresh fruit. What i saw took me by surprise. The small amount of produce they had today were mostly misshapen, bruised, and rotting. There were flies and clusters of fruit flies hovering everywhere. The quality was very poor. Always organic, always fresh, worth the trip versus a grocery store chain, if you have a choice, take the 11 mile drive from downtown Sac to Yolo and get it fresh, cook it fresh, tasty, and crispy. Prices are competitive, considering there is no middle man, you get what you pay for. 5 cucumbers, head of lettuce, 3 Stalks of Romain Hearts, a bag of lemons, limes, oranges I walked away under $10.00. This one of a number of fruit/market stands on the stretch of freeway between Fairfield and Sacramento. They're all pretty good, but this is probably the best. You do have to take a very roundabout clover leaf exit if you're coming from the East (first exit off the causeway), but that's OK. They have a great selection of regular produce, as well as sligthly bizarre selection of Middle-Eastern and Eastern European produce (Polish cookies, anyone?). Anyway, this is a far better place to stop for snacks than the craptastic stuff you normally see at gas stations. read more
