WOW. If I could give this family owned restaurant 10 stars I would. My husband and I were itching for some ramne, GOOD ramen. He's a fan of Jinya, I'm a fan of Ramen Tatsuya. We were close to Jinya, but we just decided to step out of our comfort zone to try something new and God, my taste buds are SO HAPPY that we did. We got an order of delicious good-sized crab puffs to start off with, and he ordered the Spicy chicken ramen, but instead of the chicken chashu, he replaced them with chicken wontons. I got the tonkotsu, and when I tell you I have had ramen EVERYWHERE, from New York City to San Diego, this place blew my MIND. I never finish ANY ramen bowl, but here I was, scraping at the bottom, wanting more even after I had already finished because it was just THAT GOOD. The broth was rich, creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delightful. My husband absolutely DEMOLISHED his spicy chicken ramen. His comments were, spicy, flavorful, the perfect amount of heat to make you sweat, but too damn good to even stop for a water break. I have been with this man to plenty of ramen places, but this spot is the first time I have ever seen him drain a bowl dry. We loved this place so much, we went back two days later to make sure that it wasn't just a fluke.. We are happy to report that the second time around, we left nothing in our bowls and we have found our new favorite ramen spot in Houston. I was staying nearby on a business trip and saw this was close and had mostly good reviews. Monday evening about 7:30 and I'm the only one in the whole restaurant. No problem there - I took a seat and ordered the Ton katsu Ramen and a side of spring rolls. The rolls were perfect - hot, crispy, and very tasty. I'm sure they were just the standard frozen fare, deep fried - no problem here. The ramen came out shortly after the spring rolls. The presentation was a little disappointing - a sprinkle of green onions on top a small sheet of seaweed, but the boiled egg was upside down and buried under the noodles. I was a little surprised, as with no crowd, and what I normally see for presentation, it just looked a little careless. But if the food is good, presentation can be forgiven. The broth was really excellent. Nice flavor and consistency. The noodles seemed more like thin spaghetti than ramen noodles. The flavor was OK, but they just didn't seem right. I could be wrong, but thin spaghetti was all I could think of. The ton katsu was also good, but only 3 slices in the bowl. There was a slice of fish cake in there, but it, too, was buried under the noodles and seemed to be overcooked or something - a little on the rubbery side. One thing that I'm not really into is a Shiitake mushroom, especially the dried kind. I've never seen these as enhancing the flavor, rather it's a flavor that just seems to not conform with the rest of the meal. I have a very broad pallet and will eat just about anything - there are few flavors that I don't appreciate - this is one of them. I can take a few, but there were more than I cared for in this one. I wouldn't take off points for that The people in the restaurant were very friendly and came by the table several times while I was eating - not sure if it was because I was the only one there. I had plenty to eat and the price was good. I just can't rave about the experience. In all, it took about 30 minutes to sit down, get fed, and move on. read more

She's delicious. We got the shrimp pops and fried chicken as an app and it was amazing. The shrimp tasted like REAL shrimp and the outside crisp was perfect. The fried chicken was crispy and had the best pieces of fat. The sauce it came with went great with it and the shrimp and ramen. My friend got Vegetable Ramen and I got Tokontsu . Hers was tasteless as she said but after spicing it up it was fine! My ramen was really good already but adding the sauce from the chicken app took it up to the top. Did a quick takeout of tonkotsu ramen since I haven't actually been able to have ramen since the pandemic started. And let me tell you, as someone who has had ramen all over Texas and Japan, this broth is absolutely stellar!!! It's so good even my friend who hates drinking broth was drinking out of the bowl! The food was good but I have a story. I live across the street so I placed an online order for pick up. Appx. 10 minutes later I arrived, walked in, and saw an older woman in the back cooking and a young lady sitting in the dining area maybe doing homework. Young lady asked if she could help me and I informed her that I'm picking up an order for _________ and I gave her my name. She replied, "I need see order" as she looked at her tablet. I said excuse me? Now my "excuse me" response was partly due to us all wearing mask, also my hearing is a little bad after all those years of military service, and also b/c she was so damn rude about it. I couldn't believe my ears. So she repeats, I NEED SEE ORDER! Now, I'm not sure how many orders were being worked on back there or what the chances of there being multiple orders under the same somewhat unique name as mine? But I didn't argue... just walked back to the car, grabbed my phone, and walked back inside the restaurant. I showed the young lady my phone but o purposely only showed her the app I used to place the order and my name was displayed on the screen. I didn't even open the order. So I showed that screen to her and she says ok, 5 more minute. Wait a minute... I thought you said you need to see order. She didn't even get up to check the status of the order or anything. So I asked her, I thought you need see order? I never showed you order. I only showed you my name! I really don't know how to end this story because there's no way to describe the blank look on her face and the tail-tucking "oh" I received in response. And I guess my only purpose in tailing this story is maybe the restaurant can do a better job and training it's employees/family? Or maybe just simply don't be rude to people patronizing your business? I'm sure I'll be back to this place considering there are more items I'd like to try on the menu and I'll find out if checking people's phone for order is just policy. I missed the red flags. I went in during lunchtime and the restaurant was empty. It was dark and gloomy. Behind the counters were dirty appliances. Absolutely delicious, both my wife and I loved it! She ordered the pork buns and chicken ramen bowl, I had the takoyaki and spicy chicken ramen bowl. The buns were very soft and pork meat was flavorful, my takoyaki (disclaimer: never eaten them before today) were very tasty but I expected more octopus bits. The ramen broth had a nice rich flavor that complimented the ingredients well and seemed to taste better the more we ate. My only complaint, due to no fault of the staff, was this d@#m fly that wanted to eat our meals more than we did.....it wouldn't go away! I had the yummy ramen and it lived up to its name, with medallions of tender pork and chicken, soft egg, corn, spinach, fish cake, seaweed. I've tried 6 ramen shops across Dallas and Houston and this is thus far in my top two. The broth had a creaminess and depth I have only found in a couple of shops in Dallas. I just don't understand all of the great reviews. After reading so much praise, I ordered from them on Uber Eats. The Spicy Edamame was just drenched in garlic. The pork katsu had no taste and was totally dry. The calamari was soggy. The gyoza was almost all wrapper with minimal filling. Unfortunately, most of the meal went in the trash. They sell Boba Drinks. Don't make the mistake I did and bring boba drinks from the shop down the street. I found this place by driving by one day and decided to look up the review on Google and Yelp. I checked out the website and looked through review pictures and didn't see any picture of boba drinks so I thought I'll just pick one up over at the next shopping center and then come here for dinner. When we got there we were told No outside food or drink allowed. They let us keep our drinks this time though. Now the food...we received a complimentary bowl of edamame. We also shared an order of takoyaki for appetizer and it was pretty good. Not as big or as mouthful as ones you get in Japan but it sure fixed the craving and you especially don't find them often here in Texas. We ordered Tonkatsu ramen and it was good. Not the best we've had but I would definitely have it again. I'm glad they are open here. It is now the closest ramen shop to me. Service was acceptable.
