Having searched around, i found a few gyms and fitness centres that offered classes but was lucky enough to stumble across Yoga On The Lane. I live in East London so the location is perfect. Tucked behind the hustle and bustle of Dalston's busy Kingsland Road, Yoga On The Lane provides the tranquil and peaceful setting you would expect from a yoga centre - as soon as i walked in i felt relaxed. I'm a beginner, so i went to their Level One class which takes you through meditation to a full body workout - an hour of yoga is sweaty stuff. It's first come first serve, so get there early! Classes are £10 (expensive for me but i save to go because it's worth it) and they offer weekend yoga retreats, acupuncture, yoga holidays etc. My class was very busy but don't let that put you off because my instructor (Joanne) was so amazing and made the time to help each member of the class as if it were one-to-one. I couldn't recommend this yoga centre more, its exactly what i've been looking for and is suited to all levels of experience. I'm off to their midday yoga class today, see you there!

Initially I was less committed, but as I began to understand my own potential and got better at not comparing myself to others in class (mainly worrying I would never be as flexible or as strong as my fellow classmates!) I started to attend more regularly. Yoga with Hana and Aya is dynamic, challenging and fun. I go along to 2-3 classes a week now and love everything about them; the friendly and welcoming attitude, the wonderful opportunity to practice outside in beautiful Finsbury Park and the excellent teaching. The indoor class at the Redmond Centre on a Monday night is close to home making it brilliantly convenient as an after work exercise option with not far to go after the class has finished! With its clean, large, spacious studio overlooking the West Reservoir at Woodberry Grove, the centre offers a great, enlightening space for practice. Hana clearly and intelligently provides superb direction ensuring you can appreciate the true purpose of each asana. Using the full time of the class (an hour in the park, an hour & 30mins in the centre), she encourages us to be curious and explore postures, not to adopt a one size fits all approach, making for a safer practice and teaching for all attending. The classes are intense, the work goes deep and the benefits stay with you throughout the week. I've met many new friends through Hana's classes, workshops and retreats and regularly recommend her to friends, neighbours and colleagues.

I love the Vinyasa Flow style classes that keep me really fit as they are really challenging, building on my core muscles and strength. I am a keen runner and rock climber and I find that Mindful Movements Vinyasa Flow keeps me in tiptop condition. The classes outdoors are an ideal way to get some fresh air and nature into my weekends and I also love the ambience of the candle evening classes at Islington Arts Factory and the Redmond Community Centre. Definitely the best Yoga you can find local to N4 for really reasonable prices!

The newest one is under a railway arch, so expect the train to go by once in a while, but if you're in the zone (as you should be!), you won't notice it. I went for an early morning full body workout and damn was it hard, but also so fun! The trainer was fantastic, really took the time to show us the exercises and help if we were struggling and I liked how varied the class was compared to usually circuits, with a few different circuits to try out. I also liked how there was just 3 in the class, it made the class even more personal. I particularly liked the changing facilities, the showers were so easy to control temperature wise with a separate lever for hot and cold. They also had really nice prdoucts to use - body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I loved how there was lots of hair dryers too, I'm also guilty of leaving with wet hair after a shower, so this was ideal. Only thing I would say in criticism is the changing rooms are a little small, if you had more than 5 people there and it's not the best located place - with only Clapton station nearby. Aside from that though it's the perfect place to train!
