Californian Roll Pumpkin Korroke Salmon Terriyaki Vegetable Firecracker Rice Miso Black Cod Just remembering eating at Yo Sushi makes my mouth water. As well as offering a vast selection of fresh and wholesome nigiri, sashimi, maki and nori handwrapped, sushi - you can get noodles, rice, raw and cooked tuna, salmon, prawns, chicken and veggies. All the dishes are priced according to the colour of the plate they're served on - so if you're on a budget, make sure you glance at the plate before you swoop it off the conveyor belt! At £1.70 and £2.20 respectively, the green and blue plates are the cheapest and the pink and grey are the most pricey at £3.50 and £5.00. The lay-out of this particular branch means all the seats are positioned around the kitchen - so you get to see the chefs prepare, cook and add new dishes to the conveyor belt. They also serve damn good, miso soup.

I like this place for the novelty factor. But its over priced, but you don't notice it much as those little dishes that come round on the belt range from about £2.50 to about £6... but stack a few of those on and its easily about £20 per head. Also the selection of food on offer pretty limited at lunchtime. For good Japanese food in Brighton, there's better places to go...

I used to really like this place until I started paying attention to their preparation methods. If you look closely when they are making your food, nothing is fresh. Absolutely everything is pre-prepared. It's basically the Wetherspoons of sushi. All of the desserts come straight out of plastic wrappers and all of the fish is the same. Yes, they put the sushi together for you, but the actual fish is already chopped up long before they get to it. On top of this, the service is pretty dreadful. Every single time I have been here, they have forgotten to give me one of the dishes that I have ordered. Every time. Last time I went, they had run out of lots of their dishes (including salmon???) which was very disappointing. Our food also took an insanely long time to get to us which is frustrating as you can see that the kitchen is not busy as you can see everything they are doing. They even ended up shutting the kitchen early whilst we were still in there and waiting for four dishes! When we were told they were shutting, I asked if we could still have the food we were waiting for. The chef gasped and looked at me like I had asked her to give me her first born child. She looked really shocked that we still had food to come - and I'm not entirely sure why seeing as we had ordered it nearly 30 minutes earlier. We then got informed that they didn't have one of the dishes that we wanted, so the waiter said, "Oh you don't have to have another dish if you don't want to", which I thought was very odd seeing as I had ordered it so clearly wanted to eat it! Also, we were there for the '10 dishes for £20' deal so I didn't really appreciate being told we could only have 9 dishes but still pay for 10. The only good thing about this place is that the deals are decent. 10 plates for £20 is a good deal, as is 'Blue Monday' where everything on the belt is one of their blue plates (cheapie dishes). The fact that their deals are good is the one solitary reason that I have given this place 2 stars instead of 1. And I guess their tamago is really tasty too. But that's it!

I love Yo Sushi. I really really do! Especially on Blue Mondays, where all the plates are super cheap! My favourites are they Duck gyoza and the chicken katsu curry. Delightful little bowls of goodness. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the staff are always nice too. I need to go to Yo Sushi more.

Sushi-go-rounds will excite even the most hardened homosapians, who doesn't want to see what could be their dinner travelling around on an adventure before it's ultimate demise? But that excited does eventually wear off and disappointment ensues. The food choice here is of plenty but can become expensive after a few dishes, Blue Mondays is good though as all plates are half price. Extra detective work is required to suss out some the actual veggie dishes but when you do they're worth it. I heard a few people complaining about the staff and service but I always found them to more than accommodating.

Very creative, well prepared dishes of stunningly good veggie items (pumpkin in particular!). Recommended for a quick light lunch stop-off.

The quality is not bad, not good but it will do if you need your fix and have no other option. Sushi itself is OK. Tuna nigiri was strangely colored and not too flavorful whereas seared salmon belly was a bit better and close to standard. Much better was chicken katsu curry and the gyoza, both of which were perfectly fine preparations of the comfort food classics. The vibe is a little weird. All families and some classical music on the sound system. This is not a date night place or a hip venue - go across the street to the yakitori place for that.

First of all, in Sushi Garden, you actually feel like your in a Japanese restaurant, the decor, smell and staff all really make the senses jump! We had a fantastic lunch there one Saturday and found it a lot more relaxing as it wasn't as packed out as the evening time. I started with some nice warm saki to get things going and then ordered a mix of tuna and salmon sashimi and nigiri (I always over order this as its so moreish). For a main I had some pork gyoza with a pork shabu salad on the side which was more than enough for me for lunch. Japanese restaurants aren't the cheapest places to eat but when they're as good as this who cares.

The layout is clean and simple - no frills, but still comfortable and modern. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The karaage was a generous portion given I ordered the 'side-dish/snack' version, and tasty. The creamy kimchi sauce was also yummy, although it was more mayo with a hint of kimchi - delicious, but as someone who loooves kimchi, it was a shame not to have something a teeny bit punchier because karaage and kimchi is a combination I could definitely get behind! Overall, great. I'm definitely going to pop in and try their gyozas at some point!

But no place in Brighton can conjure up a good takeaway Katsu. A dilemma. Then I found Sunoso (it just appeared on Just Eat. Like Asian Fusion magic). I had Katsu and some Karaage. The Katsu was incredible for takeaway Katsu. Easily the best I've had. Better than Pompoko, Itsu, Kokoro and Sushimania. It was light, tasty, non-greasy and with lots vegetables and a choice of either white or brown rice. Delivered within 30 mins. The Karaage was okay, very tasty but a tad dry. Could have done with a slice of lemon. Reasonably priced. Tempted to call my girlfriend and encourage her to stay away for another night.
