Yo! Sushi has an easy to work out colour coded menu, and you can order directly from it, or choose dishes from the conveyor belt. As Scott W mentions it is easy to get carried away and end up with a mountain of plates, so be careful!
Most yo! sushis are pretty similar, differing perhaps in terms of space constraints, but the decor and layout is more or less standard. The Aberdeen Yo! sushi is pretty spacious, with the option to sit either at the bar, facing the conveyor belt, or at tables which comfortably fit four people, with two being right beside the conveyor belt. There is plenty of pickled ginger, soya sauce and wasabi in the middle of the table. If you ask, the staff can also supply gluten free soya sauce and a low-sodium variety. There are two taps on the table, one for still water and the other for fizzy. Unlimited refills of this water cost £1.05 each. Don't just take it as if it's the only option. You can ask someone to provide you with free tap water.
In the past I almost always went for the tofu katsu curry, which was tasty, but contains gluten. Similarly I also often opted for the crunchy tofu salad, the batter of which contains gluten. The crunchy is quite tasteless in itself, but is nice when dipped in the sweet dipping sauce. Miso soup is pretty much obligatory, as you get unlimited refills and it helps fill you up, for £2 a bowl.
Yesterday I came here with my mum, a friend and my boyfriend. Having recently discovered I am unable to eat gluten, I asked for some gluten free soya sauce and went down the sushi route, getting 4 avocado rolls, a vegetable handroll (containing inari, tamago, red peppers and cucumber), edamame beans to share and inari rolls... Delicious! I left feeling comfortably full, though probably could have squeezed in another dish, as is often the case with sushi.
The bill came to around £45, no bad considering that everyone had quite a few dishes and my mum had some sake.
