The purpose of this review is to inform folks as to the manner in which the "shortfall " was handled. In no way is this a complaint, on the contrary. I spoke to a young lady, who more than addressed the situation by providing a credit which I could go for. I could not go then so I went this week. On a day the lady I mentioned was working. I can only say, i was treated with excellent accord and Haas went above and beyond to rectify, what was a small oversight. I know where my fish and chip shop is from now on. Thanks so much. We already had lunch but the fish here looked so nice and crispy, so we ordered some to take out and enjoy at the harbour. It was as good as it looked. Crispy, hot and fresh. Tender inside. Other than offering customers the chance to feel like man vs food, it has to be said that the Ashvale does a great fish and chips, in an uncluttered and unpretentious surrounding. The appeal of the Ashvale is evident by the spectrum of customers they have; every generation seems to be represented. Other than the gargantuan portion that I ate others with us had the 'normal' sized haddock, which was also really quite big, much bigger than you'd get in Edinburgh in any case! The the walls were covered with photos and history of the area, local fisherman and women who were involved in the fishing trade. It was very informative and just an absolutely wonderful lunch for us. To be honest, we chose this location due to the fact it was very close to where we happened to be, plus the name, Fraserburgh reminded us of the Fraser characters in the Outlander television series. Findlay's Fish Bar & Diner was an excellent experience for us from start to finish. And I would highly recommend it to anyone who happened to be in the area and looking for an excellent meal.
