IMHO I had the opportunity to visit Yo Maui when the venue hosted a company event for an NFL Playoff watch party last January. Sutee was our gracious venue host. He made sure we all had fun before the game and at halftime, hitting shots at the screen or on the putting green. If you are a golfer or not, come visit, and book a lesson with Sutee, or shop his cool shirts and hats!

I was on the hunt for a favorite long sleeve t-shirt that my spouse once owned that was tragically tossed due to wear and tear. What is so special about their long sleeve t's? They're thicker and more durable than most brands. THE STORE: This store is located in Whalers Village on the mall's main second level near the parking garage entrance. It's small, fully-stocked, organized and clean. They sell clothing for all, including caps, bags, water bottles, board shorts, rash guards and even luggage. I was surprised to see that they still sold the same design that's years old. The black longs leeve tee has gray stripes running under the arms down the sides, with the Honolua logo front and center in thick embroidery, and the Hawaiian Islands embroidered on on the left sleeve. It's pricey at $49, but well worth it. SERVICE: We were greeted immediately as we entered. Cashier service was quick and friendly, though the shirt wasn't folded nicely in the package. No biggie. TIPS: Kama'aina get 10% off! Parking validation available with purchase. My quick in and out of the store resulted in no fee.

The course? It's beautiful. Ocean views, solid layout, decent greens. No complaints there…read more But let's not pretend it's worth what they're charging. The Royal is overpriced. The Kai--par 70--same story. You're paying premium prices for a product that doesn't match it. And the bigger issue? The people. Inside staff--especially the older guy with glasses--complete super dick . Outside staff? Disengaged. Zero energy. Zero effort. Like they're doing you a favor just by being there. Only bright spots were the starter and the guy in the shack--everyone else looked like they checked out a long time ago. And that's the theme: they don't care. Cart service ran out of cups... came back later... still out of cups. That's not a mistake--that's a system that doesn't prioritize the customer. Look, it's Maui. The place sells itself. They know it. And because of that, they don't feel pressure to deliver anything beyond the basics. If you want real value? Go play the municipal course on the other side of the island--the one locals compare to Pebble Beach. Or better yet, play the Dunes. That's where the experience actually matches the expectation. Bottom line: incredible setting, average execution, and a complete miss on service. They'll keep making money. But if you care about how you're treated? This isn't it.
