The staff was super friendly as we perused the menu, and my decision was easy once I saw that they have a seasonal fall menu featuring house made syrups. The carrot cake one immediately caught my eye, and I ordered a carrot cake latte. My husband got the classic pumpkin spice and yep, it was like drinking fall in a cup. It's so cool to see a gem like this reppin' the hometown. Also cool that they brew Bandit Coffee (out of St. Pete) which we are big fans of. The place is small, and sure enough the clientele fitted the Matcha seekers that have popped up in all urban areas. There were Lululemon' on display, women with tiny dogs, bodies that should all be on the cover of magazines and foreign cars in the parking lot. My daughter got her Matcha which set her on a high energy mood and excited for the rest of the day, so atleast I got something out of it. I did not want to be seen anywhere near a Matcha place so had my dark glasses on, a cap and stayed close to the entrance. My daughter did order me a chocolate chip cookie to make up for my misery and In all fairness it was really good. My daughter raved about her Matcha hence the 4 stars. The wait times become extremely long. You can easily wait quite a while just for coffee, and if you order food, expect an additional 20-30 minutes. By the time the sandwich comes out, your coffee is already finished, which kind of defeats the experience of enjoying both together. There is also a young girl frequently working the register who seems overwhelmed and inattentive. Orders often have to be repeated multiple times, even when clearly stated, which slows things down even more. It gives the impression that the front counter could use better training or stronger management during peak hours. We truly enjoy the vibe and want to keep supporting the place, but today's $12 panini was unfortunately not worth the price. Between the long wait and the quality not matching the cost, it made the experience disappointing. We hope they can improve organization and staffing during busy season, because it really is a nice spot with potential.
