It's a really nice Y that is kept fresh and maintained. The Y is a large part of community health here.
Listen, I am not a "gym guy." I don't want to go. I don't like it. But, I grumble and I go sometimes. I'm encouraged to come more frequently. Doctors and family and all that. I'll take it under advisement.
The family and I are comfortable and feel welcome here, so this is where we are members.
Amenities include Pickle Ball (scheduled around other activities like basketball in that space), a nice basketball court, indoor walking track, free weights, weight machines, lots of treadmills and other modern cardio-torture devices, spin classes, water aerobics, personal training, swim lessons, lap and free swimming, and a bunch of stuff I either forgot or don't recognize. They have after school programs for kids, Silver Sneakers times for seniors, plenty of helpful staff, an app that is up to date, and special events like Grinch Breakfast at Christmas time. I've never noticed any overly pushy religious thing here. It is a small town, so being new it seems like everyone ELSE knows everyone, which I enjoy seeing, but also avoid lol.
I'm still looking for the less-busy times to come because that's more my speed. Other than that, the only thing(s) missing might be a nice hot tub and a steam room. If you're into saunas, I don't think they have that here either.
We know families that enjoy the Y, folks who go solo of all ages, and the staff are just the best! read more
