When I tell you I found the literal definition of a hidden gem--I mean it!…read more I'm going to review the TWO things I did here today, the Pilates and the massage. Located behind the Audi dealership on Kingston pike, it's situated in a group of sweet little boutique-style shops (other health/wellness places) When I walked in, there were some sweet ladies wrapping up a class, pretty sure they knew each other well, and also met the owner Allison. Pilates-- Allison, who was as friendly as she was knowledgeable, did a new-client private with me, to gauge where I was at, and introduce me to the reformer. When you come, just come in comfy clothes, with a water, and then you can go barefoot or use grip socks. She gave clear instructions, very helpful corrections, and walked me through all the parts of each set. She explained that when you come, she tries to have people do a new-client meeting, and then from there you can do small group classes, or continue with privates. I could immediately see how beneficial the session was, as I found myself (a yoga instructor) still catching my posture/positioning off, and being tighter in areas of my body I didn't even realize I was. As a personal note--as someone who's body conscious and doesn't want to work out with an audience, this is NOT that. It's got boutique vibes, with no judgement. It is mostly women clientele, though she said some husbands sneak in too, to join their wives. The equipment was very clean, well maintained, and explained in detail (for newer to Pilates people like me) Her bathroom was VERY clean, and stocked with lady products, hair ties, and she even had water, should you run out or forget. She explained the best way to see pricing and classes is on her website (for both things actually) because there's lots of options. Massage- Sandy was my massage girl. Prior to coming, I had filled out a client intake form asking any allergies or injuries I had; she just confirmed that my answers were still the same. The room had dimmed lights, pretty art work, light/relaxing music. She asked what scent I would like for my aroma therapy (I picked lavender) She invited me to undress to my comfort level and she'd be back in. The bed warmer was on and she offered to adjust as needed. She checked in with me throughout the massage on pressure level, if anything hurt, if face/scalp massage was okay, what areas I wanted her to focus on etc. I opted for a Swedish massage, but she said her specialty is deep tissue. She told me she has add ons as well, like cupping, hot stone, and reflexology. Currently she's there Thursdays, Fridays, and every other Saturday, but they also have another girl as well. *Another personal note--I felt it was worth every penny. And their pricing is VERY fair, especially compared to other places I've visited in the area. Everything was perfect. I felt comfortable and was able to truly relax, which as a mom of 2 is hard to come by. After the massage she answered my questions, and let me know that they do offer drop-in massages or monthly member Rates. She said for maintenance she does recommend coming monthly, and you can elect to come more also. I will not only be back, but truly recommend this place many times over. Even if one thing or the other sounds better, it's a wonderful little place and I'm so glad to know it's there!

They seemed to do everything right; whereas other gyms in Knoxville only goes 90 percent. The facility is top notch, with lots of amenities like towel service and coffee. The equipments are well maintained. There are a ton of classes, with good instructors. The staff is very friendly. One our little ones had an accident, they even have extra pants for her. The only downside is that they are affiliated with Blue Fitness, for those who has BCBS. We ended up keeping our Blue Fitness for access to nationwide gyms and added this on top of our other gym access.

If you only want a gym, there are better gym memberships out there. They do offer group classes, but these have been cut back a lot. Would be nice if they started some small group circuit training in the gym. Their tennis facilities are great if you play. They do have an indoor and outdoor pool. Locker rooms are a little dated, especially for the price point.

(They offer late appointments, so even if you get off work at 5, you still have time to be seen.) But best of all - the care and treatment you get here is incredible. Before I came here, I visited chiropractors, doctors and masseuses to help relieve my back pain. Although they tried different techniques, nothing really helped. Then my rib area started to hurt, almost unbearably at times, and I was tired of spending time and money on treatments that weren't working. Someone recommended trying a physical therapist. I found Advanced Physiotherapy and made an appointment to see Mag (the practitioner). The first visit was almost miraculous. The pain went down by about 70% and Mag gave me some exercises to do at home. I was actually able to sleep through the night, for the first time in years. After the third visit, the pain around my ribs went away completely. That was three years ago. Now, anytime I have pain anywhere (shoulder, back, etc), I go to see Mag. I point to what hurts, and by the time I leave, the pain is gone. I recommend Advanced Physiotherapy to anyone who mentions they hurt, and everyone always raves about how great their visit went. Thank you, Mag!!

First, it is centrally located which made it very easy for me to get from downtown (around Gay St) to it for their classes. I would also say that the staff (especially January at the front desk) are very warm and welcoming. They make you feel excited to be there and treat you as though you are a regular. The classes themselves were great (if you've been to b3 before, they use the same moves that you'd see in other classes) but there were a couple of things I would love to see from the studio in the future. First, I would love to see cardio and/or strength classes on the schedule like some other b3 studios have (and that they have online). I know this means that they will have to get heavier weights, but I love lifting heavy and missed that here. The second thing that I think would be awesome would be having classes at the same time every day (i.e. a noon class). It seemed like they were training a lot of new instructors when I was there so hopefully these additions will happen soon. Either way, the studio is clean and friendly! I will be back when I return to Knox!
