Came Sunday at 9:30, already a quarter full. I had har- gow, chicken feet, trip, lotus leaf sticky rice (lo mai gai). The chicken feet were perfect and the har-gow full and plumb with shrimp. I like the way they do the lo mai gai. Smaller portions, devided between 3 wrappers instead of the usual 2. So you get more filling to rice ratio. Plus they wrap the race in parchment paper before wrapping in the lotus leaf, so it's much easier to peel apart. The trip was a little disappointing however. The flavor was very good but good, but should have been cooked a bit longer, as some of the pieces were still quite chewy. I patiently waited for the egg custard to come out, as they were still baking them. Worth the wait, they were perfect! Light flaky crust, and perfectly light and tender egg custard. Plus, they were the "normal" palm size tart...not those mini ones, that many places switched to, to save money. Honestly, these were the best I have had anywhere! As I was leaving at 10:45, the place was buzzing and almost full. They were also bringing out many more items, such as stuffed bell pepper (with shrimp) and stuffed egg plant (with pork). They also had special carts that would make stir fry noodles or steamed vegy at your table. Makes it feel like Hong Kong, which was the last place I saw these, in the early '90s.

The Pekung duck Pancake comes preassembled in half moon shape and taste really good. All ingredients are equally represented no wonder we finished it in no time. The second course being San Choy Bow is also devine. It's not overpowered with onion and garnished with water chestnut providing extra texture to the already well represented duck meat and duck skin. The pork belly is probably one of the best we had for a long time. Its so soft we hardly need any efforts to chew it. The preserved veggie is complemented with fresh bok choy providing the extra texture to this dish. The Oyster Mushroom and Chinese Broccoli is also very good. It still was when we got there but a table came up quickly for 3. The restaurant is pretty stylish and modern. The open air seating is very inviting in the middle of the Financial Disctrict. Even with the slight chill air it was nice to be under the sun. Service is not that great here but I could see they were trying. Our server was pleasant making conversation with us. When she found out we were visiting it seemed like she tried to make the whole experience a little better for us by being more attentive. I did peruse the 50 page menu to see what all they had. I wanted it all. The food smelled great. The menu was so intoxicating I told my cousin to order for us. I trusted her decisions. Very surprising to find that here in a Chinese restaurant because that's a Filipino dish. Combine that with roast duck that was cooked well. This is not the time to talk about how unhealthy this is.
