    Beef rendang
    Sheree C.

The food here was fantastic we had the $36 banquet and every dish hit the mark. The beef rendang was heavenly and I loved that it had some kick to it. Prawns in the shell and calamari were very tasty. Now for the downside and the reason for the 3 stars. The service here is terrible it's hard to get anyone's attention and when you do ask a question they just grunt and keep moving. We were not given our fish dish in the banquet and had to ask for it twice and I wish I never ate it as I got a fish bone lodged in my throat. We were given our dessert before the mains had come out so they took it away it was a sago dish with ice shavings, instead of giving us a fresh one on its return they gave us the same one and it was like a cold soup. Bad service just changes your mood and I left here saying (even though the food was great) "I won't be coming back here again"

Oh what has happened to my favourite Malay/Singaporean joint in Parramatta? The standards have dropped despite the owner remaining the same. French beans used to be crispy on the outside with an unmistakable "pop" on first bite. Now they are soggy at best and lacking the rich Belacan taste. The satay chicken sticks are dry and unappealing. So, I hear you ask, why three stars? Well this place still does a mean, and recognisably thick, chicken and prawn laksa. I could drink this curry broth by the gallon. Might come back, but only for the laksa! 3 star laksa, 1 star the rest

    The best Laksa!!!

The BEST Malaysian food I've ever had. Very authentic & flavor is just right. I wish they had a location where I live (Las Vegas), and I'd be here every week!

We were at Pareamatta laneway festival and cbs with the lines, so we decided to go to Temesek as we heard it was good. The service was a bit lacking but the food was good. The roti was standard but the Nasi Lamak was the best I have had. The nasi goreng and Hainese chicken were also pretty good. A very busy restaurant with great food, a little pricey for Singaporean Malay food.

Nasi Lemak with beef rendang and sambal prawns

A handful of good Yelp reviews led us to this place for a Sunday lunch. Despite the fact that it's hidden down an alley it was busy, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately the food didn't quite hit the mark. We shared nasi lemak with beef rendang and sambal prawn, and hokkien noodles in black sauce (Malaysian style). The prawns (only 2) were served cold, which seemed odd in an otherwise hot dish. The sambal on the side was minuscule. It really lacked the punch of flavours that I am used to for this dish. The fried noodles came in a huge serve, but again lacked good flavour. I may return to try to laksa that other reviewers have recommended, but wouldn't be in a hurry to return otherwise.

This place is a little tricky to find for first timers...find the classy establishment Roxy, walk next door to the dodgy laneway and follow the articles and write ups displayed in the window. These guys make the best Hainanese chicken rice in Sydney, big call I know, husband and I have tried all the other popular/well-reviewed ones in town but nothing tops Temasek. It is well worth the hour drive. For those who's not familiar with the dish, you're meant to eat chicken skin as well and it's delicious (dietitians look away!) And if you have the numbers, always order 1/2 or whole chicken with chicken rice on the side rather than the chicken rice dish...the chicken's generally nicer. Other highlights are the laksa, made with prawn heads and prawn paste...it's an explosion of prawny goodness. Also the Nasi Lemak, char kway teow and stir fry anything with their sambal is on point. And then soothe the burn from the sambal with a chendol...ahhh

    Roti Canai

I was a little disappointed today. The lunch menu is great value, and the service fast, but you know when you get a meal and it's "microwave hot", not "wok hot"...? You can tell the difference. The taste was ok but the rice was very starchy and seems like it hadn't been washed before cooking. Paying lunch menu prices it was ok, but I would have been upset if dinner prices were in affect. Sad that the roti canai didn't come with any curry or dhal dipping sauce. Service was prompt and efficient. Every other time it's been great here, so I'll give them another chance again. Maybe just an off day at Temasek.

Chinese pancake, a beef soup and shanghai fried rice cake are all very nice! This is a mix style of Chinese restaurant. Some of the dishes are from northern part and some are from southern part. So you will be able to taste a large verity style of food from china. At the end we ordered a lot takeaway. A lot of people order takeaway from there. Price is cheap! Only about $16 per person we paid for last night dinner.

We tried their Peking Duck dish with handmade noodle as second dish. Also ordered their corn chicken soup plus our usual benchmarking dish shan Dong Chicken which the owner said is their signature dish. In general the food comes really slowly not just the duck dish but also other dishes that come before that. The handmade noodle dish also took longer than expected. The peking duck dish is quite good but experienced better one elsewhere. What really stands out is their pancake which is very thin and tasty. The duck is reasonably juicy. everything else is as expected. The chicken corn soup is very salty. So does the Shan Dong chicken which also lacks punchy ingredients such as garlic, chili, lemon and sugar. Even the shallots which should be there in generous serving is a bit shy. The handmade duck noodle however is nice but we can't say it's worth to wait that long.
